      I just listened to the podcast of the BFT with Mike Barrett.  I normally find myself agreeing with Barrett all the time, and trust what he says as I've been posting on his blog for 2+ years now.   JC gave him a list of Nash, Davis, and Parker.   Mike basically said that Nash is a done deal because Phoenix isn't interested in trading Nash.  He's also not a fan of Baron Davis (same as me, it would be a huge downgrade getting Baron Davis in my opinion).  He however is a fan of Tony Parker.  As am I.

     I don't have any articles, I was just going by what I heard.  He also said the most likely to be traded, just because of all the talk, was obviously Andre Miller.  He also said Nic Batum because of his contract, and Portland kind of has been on a slippery slope with Batum since we keep hearing he's full of potential but keeps hiding in his shell.

     If it were up to me, I would stand pat and just try to move up in the draft if possible by getting rid of some guys that we obviously don't need/want.   IE Rudy, Babbitt, Armon, and Patty.  But, in order to get something, you have to give something.  So, I came up with this trade.

      --->http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=62d28q8   <--- it's right here just click

    This gives Andre and Batum for Tony Parker.   I think this trade helps both teams significantly.  Spurs get someone to help George Hill (since the Spurs are obviously looking at him to be in the drivers seat in the future).  It also gives them youth, something they need, in Batum.

    For Portland, we get a player that can drive, dish, and score.

    According to Mike Barrett, last season Tony Parker was asking Batum about Portland.  Batum showed him places to live, eat, and enjoy the city... supposedly.  So, I don't think Tony Parker would be too upset, although he basically would be losing his best buddy that influenced him to come here.

    Another idea would be adding Rudy.

    -----> http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6de3fex <---- Right here

      I would make that trade in a heart beat.  However, seeing that Rudy has declined year after year, I don't think the Spurs would be willing to bite on that, unless they really wanted Andre Miller.

    Appears the trade Machine is broken. So, maybe these trades won't work.

    I like this trade if there is any truth to it.   I would even give them Babit and AJ to make this happen and or inlude our picks this year as well.

    Do you keep up with the entire NBA or do you just try to disagree with everything?  There have been numerous reports that the Spurs are interested in trading Tony Parker, and even Parker was thinking of leaving after he thought the Spurs had no chance to compete.

    Hey Herr :)

    I would probably do the first trade, but we would have to include another player(s) for the salaries to balance out add and picks/cash for further incentive. I added two players, Rudy and Luke. The primary carrot is of course, Nicolas Batum. The Spurs GM did say that they were just gauging interest and value in Parker and weren't serious about trading him. My gut reaction when I read that was "bullsh*t!". I am concerned that in the rumored deal that fell apart last night, we let every team in the league know we are willing to let Nico go now though. For the right piece of course! Not 100% certain Parker is the right piece tho...

    I threw Rudy into another trade with a different team for a different PG as well. The trade works without additional things, but think the Suns would need more incentive to let Nash go, i.e. picks/cash or maybe both :)

    Nash likes Portland and I think he would be able to do exactly what Dre does for Lamarcus, so no loss there. Additionally, Nash can SHOOT from deep, so he spreads the floor for everyone. He's old, but seems to be in great shape and we could likely get 3 years out of him. I actually think, aside from the risk of age, Nash is a far better fit need-wise here and would love to see us get a PG in his fashion (if not him)

    Honestly though, I think the Big Trade attempts will stay attempts and we will end up standing pat, signing Dre, and work on molding someone we already have into the back-up PG :) At least, for now.

    The trade that makes the most sense to me:
     utah jazz- get Andre miller, Batum, (cash Bayless), our 21st pick
     Portland- get Harris, derrick favors.

     This benifits both sides.  Considering utah drafts kanter at 3, and jimmer or kemba if he falls that late at 12, and they choose at 21.  Blazers recive quick talented point guard + Favors for post help witch we definatley need.
