We have matthews, batum, wallace, roy, fernandez it,s so hard maybe no sg all sf i will give you what i think should happen
pg roy (he needs to find a rythem)
sg matthews (he is young and our best shooter)
sf wallace (most atletic and talented
    pf aldridge (DUH!!!)
C oden (he is still young and still has a chance at a allstar if he is healthy)

    Mentions
batum (only person who knows how to produce off the bench)
    dre(its time to go)
    camby (we got oden back)
    fernandez (dissapointed)
patty (hahaha maybe in 5 years)
I am a fan of Brandon roy coming back and eating his doubters!!!

    IMO
Pg Roy would have to change his game quite a bit before starting here and imo wouldn't be an upgrade in what dre does at the position.
Sg This is where Roy belongs. He's expected to come back healthy next year and Mathews was brought in as his backup. I don't see that plan changing unless Roy's not healthy.
Sf Wallace has proven himself worthy of the starting position. As much as I love batum his role is best in match up advantages and coming off the bench. I'd like to see him have a six man role ala Jason Terry.
Pf Aldridge with Camby as a backup.
C Oden with Camby or Chris Johnson at backup. What worries me the most here is that where stuck at a crossroads. Letting Oden go can only to see our investment make it big somewhere else? On the other hand, we can pay him but the more likely scenario would be everyone looking like fools for shelling out money for three more years of sub par health with Oden being nothing more than a gym rat in the weight room and the receiver of free tickets to the Blazers games. Sorry but I'm a blunt guy and these are only my opinions.

    Mentions
Fernandez makes a nice backup Sg/Sf but this position is clogged up.
Patty's positives are improved team chemistry; spark off the bench; and owner/fan favorite. However, he's a big time defensive liability. I've never seen a guy allow so many players to blow by them in one season. He needs to work his tail off during the off season to improve his D by leaps and bounds. Otherwise, he's just not going to be getting any minutes.
Chris Johnson was a great find but is very raw. He's mostly a defensive specialist right now. Lets have him come back and see if he can grow into a well rounded player.

@Derrick Rose is MVP: Derrick Rose is an amazing athlete, but this is PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS FORUM. IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON TALKING ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS, GET THE ****(Please refrain from swearing- DHawes22) OFF THIS SITE.

@Supernovareigns: Brandon Roys knee's are shot, don't expect him to knock Matthews out of the starting line-up.

i think batum is more talented than wallace, wallace just knows what he is capable of doing, he knows his limits.
batum never gets a chance to test his limits.
    that cat can fly....

as for derrick Rose, you are like that little kid who plays counter strike and when you get killed you finally use your microphone, and all the people in the game find out you have yet to reach puberty, and then for the rest of the time you play they tease you about your voice, body parts that have yet to descend, and so fourth. idk i just picture you looking almost exactly like Millhouse......blue hair and alll...hahah.

I think whoever wins the damned spot during training camp should start at SG :)

If that's Roy, good. Brandon is a rhythm player, so he will likely contribute more effectively and consistently if he starts. He has always been a starter and is still the leader of this team, as his teammates' response to Game 4 made crystal clear. If he doesn't start, I fully expect Brandon will adjust to being a 6th man off the bench, as long as he is playing in his natural position and NEVER at PG

If it's Wesley, good. Wesley is also a rhythm player and has shown he has a tougher time coming off the bench behind a starter than Brandon does. He's a very hard worker, and I think he takes it way too personally when he is a sub and not a starter. If BRoy is able to sustain a starting role, I think it is possible Wesley will become disgruntled. He ain't in this for the money. He's in it for the game, to win, and for the challenge of constantly improving himself and being rewarded for it. Like Brandon, he has started an awful lot in his BB career. He's had a lot of success with his teams, going all the way back to high school. And Wesley is only a SG, so there is no other option for him.

This entirely depends on Roy. If Roy is back and feeling good, he gets the start. Maybe Wesley keeps it at first to get Roy back into the swing of things, but a lot can happen in an off season and in training camp. I think long term it will be Brandon and having Wesley come off the bench will be great for the second unit.

Wesley Matthews should start at shooting guard in my opinon. He's only 24 years old, has playoff experience, great defender & our most reliable three-point shooter. You take him out of the lineup, who keeps the defenses from swarming Aldridge?  I'm just not sure Roy's knees will ever allow him to play more than 25-30 minutes a night and I'd like to see him bring that production off the bench, where we need it most.

Who starts at SG next year? Whoever wins the job. Let Roy, E-Will, Wesley and whomever else we have on the roster come to training camp and duke it out for the starting 2 guard spot. Whoever impresses the most, they should take it. I do think Wesley is going to come to camp this year and continue to take his game to another level.
