Something needs to change next season with Roy's situation. He is still the face of the franchise but Aldridge is playing better. Roy needs to get the minutes he needs to get his mental toughness back so he can be the all star he is. Why isn't McMillian setting up a rotation for Wallace, Roy and Aldridge like the Heat have Celtics have or even the Lakers have. Those teams have All Star Shooting guards (Allen, Wade and Bryant we have Roy) All Star small forwards (Pierce, James and Artest we have Wallace) All Star power forwards (Gasol, Garnett, and Bosh we have All Star snub Aldridge) Cant be quick to forget what Roy did for this Franchise. after Randolph left he took this team to the playoffs. Need to go back to the way it was last year where Roy is first option and Aldridge is number two. BUT he will receive the ball more and teams would have a tough time preparing for the Blazers. and the way Wallace plays you don't really have to run plays for him because he is so all over the place that he will get his points and boards a few assists and he will just be a great contribution to the team. Roy needs minutes and  the ball!!! Maybe he should start one of these games to see what will happen when he gets starter minutes!!!!!!

I agree 100% Roy needs to start games so that he can get into a rythem.  Even before the knee surgery he started games slow and exploded in the 4th quarter

Roy cannot start because he is not %100 healthy?

Why would you start a player who isnt at their best>?

Would you buy a car with 3 tires on it>?

Or fly in a 747 with only 2 working engines?
    NO!!!!
Let him rest, he is obviously not in the game (mentally) look at his troubles since coming back this season, and i can garuntee you %100 that it is more of a mental injury than a physical injury. In this league at this caliber of play and with the type of injury BRoy has sustained, all the talk and rumors of "career is over" and " trade everyone but aldridge " talk, it sticks with him and heavily effects his game.

He needs a vacation metaphorically, he needs to sit at home and the gym. thats at

do you know why Roy ain't their mentally?? Because he had double need surgery and was told it might be the end of his career, then he is told he can play limited minutes and he started out  rough then when he is told that he is physically able to do whatever he wants he gets put on the bench as a 3rd string. It is probably the hardest on him going from "face of the franchise" to a guy people don't want starting? Why? because he hasn't played in a long time and is rusty? letting him play minutes is like putting WD40 on this problem. let the game come back to him and the only way for that to happen is to let him play major minutes.

HE NEEDS TO BE SHOWN THAT WE THE FANS STILL THINK OF HIM AS THE FRANCHISE PLAYER!!

we also need to thank Aldridge for stepping up this year when Roy was down and hope he can continue to play at this caliber of play even if he is the 2nd option. Portland would be the deadliest team if their was a one two punch of Roy then Aldridge and had Wallace, Batum, Matthews and Fernandez as role player that had to be watched out for.

a true fan would care more about his players health more than their productivity.

you are acknowledging that he is hurt and you want him to play? what...do..

Do you work for the training staff? is that how you handled oden?
The team just needs to let him rest without threatening his career.
If he can sit the rest of this year/ sit through summer and the off season/ he will come back the way everyone wants Oden to.

I agree with you on the conmbined power of Roy and Aldridge. which is why i value Roy's health for the potential this franchise has and where they could go.

Like you said, Let the game come back to him.....not throw  him out in it? why force it...

Brandon Roy is a good player, but you seriously want to give him starter minutes in a lineup  that is loaded? Sorry, that doesn't make any sense. This should be LaMarcus' team because he has shown that he is reliable and will get the job done. Yeah sure, it just happened this season, but he's been waiting to bloom. Roy may up his game later but now against the Mavs is not a good time to be playing him big minutes when he's getting torn up on defense.

In my opinion Roy really stepped up his game. He made some really nice shots, and did what he had to do to earn his 25 minutes

why does it have to be 1 players team? isnt that like an oxymoron? why cant it be nates team and let him coach it? why cant it be portlands team and let them play like a team? aldridge has shown great humility whiles he's been snubbed for multiple awards and recognitions. why not embrace that humility? why do we have to put a player up on a pedestal and pretend like we have a lebron? who cares about big egos? it's a team sport, i think the NBA has really forgotten that. the best basketball to watch is when a team plays team ball. wonder why portland has the most ally oops? not because 1 player is the best, but because they play unselfish and like a team. and that's fun to watch.

TayC Roy aint hurt anymore. He has no minute cap BUT Nate wants to keep him around 20-24 min. Roy is free he just needs minutes like last night. maybe even more. He showed what he can do with minutes. Last night all Roy did was prove me right. Yeah maybe he didnt start but he got to play for half the game and what did he do? He was productive! Great job B-Roy Keep it up!!!!!!!1

dude with that kind of knee problems, he may not be injured, but he sure as hell isnt %100 percent, so if that sounds better.

but the dude is hurtin and playing more is not going to help him any

im pretty sure roy is a man and can play hurt if he wants to, tayc. he's a big boy and when he hurts he sits himself. right now he feels good, so let him go. blair has no carteledge and he plays excellent ball, dont you think he hurts after every game?

forcing him to sit when he wants to contribute will just frustrate him, as shown in his post game 2 interview that was blown out of proportion. he's a competitor, and a class act, and im sure he knows his body better than you and the training staff for that matter.

I believe this is wishful thinking. It sounds great but Brandons' knees are but terrible one has no cartilage and the other is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Bench minutes is all he is going to get which is too bad, but if he were to start his knees would go out just that much sooner. If we want to keep him on the team he must come off the bench, If we are looking to trade him in the off season then by all means showcase him as a starter so the most return could be gotten for him.  ROLL ON BLAZERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
