Via Portland Tribune: Pressure Is On Aldridge As Blazers Near Playoffs
“Where he goes, we go,” McMillan says. “We play through him the way we did Brandon in previous years. He has become the guy who establishes how we’re going to play. When he plays well, we play well.”
“Last year left a bad taste in my mouth,” Aldridge says. “I had to be the guy, and I didn’t do my job as good as I can.”
“LaMarcus has done a great job,” Roy says. “If I were grading him, I’d give him an A-plus. Through ups and downs, night in and night out, being expected to accept a certain role — he has been there all the time.

“He is playing like the best power forward in the league. He has done an unbelievable job of keeping this team where it’s at.”

I like where LA's mindset is at this time around. Last year you could definitely tell he wasn't 100% comfortable being "The Man", but with a little over 3 months of seasoning under his belt as the go-to-guy, Aldridge looks like he's ready for the challenge. If we can continue to get our 24 and 10 from Aldridge during the playoffs, I think we'll be in great shape to finally advance.

I think you nailed it with 24-10. I think other teams depend on one guy to get them 30+ in order to win. We don't need that and that makes us that much better.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

LA ran a sprint in the middle of what can best be described as a marathon-a grueling 82 game NBA regular season.  He won his race, however the Blazers are still running theirs...and they'll have to do it without LA.

Nate is absolutely right.  As LA goes, so do the Blazers.  So, with having clinched tonight, sit LA and rest him letting the chips fall where they may the rest of the way.  Far better to have a rested Aldridge going into post-season play than some hollow and meaningless regular season wins now.  With a rested and fresh LA, this team has shown they can beat anyone anywhere.  Without?  Well...do I have to finish that thought?

I agree, rest LA seems to be the right thing to do.

cmeese47 - The only thing we know about JJ''s defensive skills was they sucked when playing against true big men at the 5.  We know nothing of his defensive side at the four.  We do know he dominates the boards, he plays in...

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
