Which defender should Portland put primarily on Andre Iguodala
    Wesley Matthews (9)
     29%
    Nicolas Batum (5)
     16%
    Gerald Wallace (16)
     52%
    Rudy Fernandez (1)
     3%

The Trail Blazers wrap up their quick, three-game homestand against the 76ers, a team notoriously known as a thorn in our side. Not only did Philly defeat us, 88-78, back on November 30th, but we haven't been able to knock off Philly at home since the 07-08 season (the last victory of the 13-game win streak). I thought once we go then-Blazer killer Andre Miller from them that they would stop nipping us in the bud, but no such luck has occurred.

One player helping Philly play over their heads this season has been Andre Iguodala, arguably the best wing defender in the league. Similar to Wallace, Iggy is a triple-double threat every time he steps onto the court, plays with high energy and fills up the box score line none other. So for Portland to pick up win #3 in a row, they need to focus on A.I. and slow him down. Much like they defended Dirk, throw multiple defenders at him, trying to disrupt his rhythm. A big advantage Portland has over Philly is their size down low. LA should have no problems taking the likes of Speights and Spencer H. down low and Camby + Wallace should have a field day on the glass.

The major thing is to limit turnovers and transition defense because with the athletes on this team they want to run, keep AI out of the paint since he's their point-forword and look out for Lou williams, Jrue holiday and Jodie Meeks because they can get hot and takeover, Get LA going early, get gerald some easy baskets and the bench has to have a good game. Hopefully we will have Energy for the LA game but we need all hands on deck and not overlook this team.

Keep up the same energy and intensity.  I'm more worried about a letdown here than I was last night.

Well, we REALLY need to win tomorrow.  Denver loss and openned the gates.  That, and the fact Phoenix and Houston dominated tonight.

Lakers gave me a lot of confidence.  Bynum likely to be suspended by his play on Michael Beasley.  Had Rambis not have been an idiot by putting in the worse defensive player in the game (Love), Wolves could have likely pulled the upset.  But still, possibility of no Bynum on Sunday, so we need a big win tomorrow to bring the energy on Sunday.  If there's no Bynum, that's going to be a thing of beauty for the Blazers since Bynum is the sole reason the Lakers have been winning.

Still, the barely win by the Lakers falls right into our lap of confidence.  Them losing would make them want to prove themselves against us.  Them winning by a lot is more intimidating.  Them having struggles and playing ice cold shooting makes us more likely to win.

I'm feeling good about Sunday.  BEAT LA! BEAT LA!

According to Quick this thread is useless because AI isn't playing.

     Jason Quick
Philadelphia forward Andre Iguodala will not play Saturday against Portland in order to rest an ailing knee, which will give him 5 days off

Looks like Andre's flight will be arriving at 5pm at PDX, so it'll be close it whether he gets there in time for tipoff or not. As for the poll..amuse me :)

Great game.  Aldridge had 18 points,  Roy had 6.  That combined, and we still score well over 100 points.  Very nice team effort.  Aldridge and Wallace flirting with triple doubles.

I don't get the +/- factor.  Wesley had +10,  Wallace had +1, and they seemed like the heroes of the game.  But Aldridge had +15 and Miller had +11.  What does that stat mean?  I thought it was the amount of points scored for the opposing team compared to the points your team scored while you're on the floor.

Its basically how much your team outscored the other team when you were on the court (- means the other team outscored you.) So if a player is +11, that just means that we outscored them by 11 points in the whole game WHEN that particular player was on the floor.

Great win. The offense is clicking on all cylinders, but the defense still worries me. We allowed Dallas to shoot 60% and Philly, without Iggy, shot well over 50% for the majority of the night. I hope we can step up our D while we continue to share the ball. Speaking of sharing, 29 team assists? Wow. The unselfishness of this team is amazing. And Crash was all over the place. He's going to give this team an added dimension in the playoffs.

Lol, no. Dwight Howard would be the absolute worst thing to ever happen to Portland, and no doubt my fellow message boarders will let you know why.
