Jason Quick is reporting on Twitter that Head Coach Nate McMillan is inserting Gerald Wallace into the starting lineup for tonight's game against the Mavericks in place of Marcus Camby.

Many have considered this move an inevitability since the Trail Blazers acquired Wallace from the Bobcats at the trade deadline, though many assumed Nicolas Batum would move to the bench rather than Camby.

So what are your thoughts on the move? Good call? Wrong guy going to the bench? Let's hear it.

While I really liked Wallace and Roy coming off of the bench, Camby hasn't been producing enough lately. Also, LA has been at his best when he's been the biggest Blazer on the floor. There is better spacing and he's able to operate more fluidly down low. I think a problem playing LA and Marcus together recently has been that Marcus hasn't found his stroke from outside. With defenses already keying on LA, it's imperative for the other big to be able to keep the defense honest.

Gerald Wallace should of been starting since he landed foot of the floor of the Portland Trail Blazers! He's a STARTER! Not SECONDS!:/

I think it is a good move. Camby although good at defense has not been performing well at offense, but Wallace is good at defense and offense, and really good at rebounding, he brings in energy to the team, so it is good to have him playing from the begining to get the team aggressive from the start. Wallace needs to need to be carefull not to get in to foul trouble especially while blasting in to make the basket.

I think that this is a good move too...not that I don't like Camby, but until he gets his rythm back, i think he should be coming off the bench.  I am a big fan of Nicolas Batum, so i'm glad that he will still be starting.
I am a fan of being at the Rose Garden and watching Nicolas light it up from downtown on Febuary 7th. 'Nuff said.

I think Gerald Wallace should fit in great with the first team, we are now a little smaller but more athletic and should be a much better offensive team... especially during crunch time. We have seen the offense get bogged down and come to a stand still in key moments late in games several times this year and it should be one of our biggest concerns going into this post season. We have been lacking a guy who can isolate and get to the basket for easy points since B Roy's surgery, while he has shown flashes in games of his old self he will probably be best used as a spot up shooter until he can get more movement and explosiveness back. Wallace has a breakneck attack style that should get a lot of those baskets Roy was depended on while keeping the defense on their heals and with his outside shooting ability (who expected him to shoot the 3 so well?) he adds a whole other threat. The biggest draw back?... who will help cover for B Roy on the defensive end as he hobbles around? I suppose if my biggest concern is with the second teams defense its a good day in Rip City. GO BLAZERS!!!!
I am a fan of getting out of the first round...

Nate can choose his punches now...Wallace for Camby gives LA the lane a little more without losing what Camby would offer on defense.....Wallace also will  pull the double teams off LA and will show why he was an all-star.
We still need Camby, though...don't get me wrong He plays much bigger than most guys his size and when he is on...it's poetry....
    Roy...off the bench...AWESOME!...as a starter...AWESOME!!

This is a good move. Camby is limited in minutes, and it makes it so that the only true big guys off the bench aren't just Collins and Johnson. Camby and Aldridge are the only solid legitimate bigs we have so putting one on the bench and one starting is a good move I think. It'll take some pressure off of Camby, Collins, and Johnson without changing Gerald's role all that much.

But you know, really in the end, starting isn't much of a change. It's all about how the minutes are distributed. Which I don't think will change much until Camby and Roy are capable of playing big minutes again, which may not be until next season.

I'm not worried as to who starts but who finishes; my finishers are LA, Roy, Crash, Dre, and Matthews or Batum depending on who has the hot hand between the two.
