Which color headband should Gerald Wallace wear in his debut?
    Red (54)
     66%
    Black (7)
     9%
    White (21)
     26%

The Trail Blazers survived the Nuggets with only 9 healthy bodies and now will finally welcome home their new addition, Gerald Wallace. With the win, Portland moves into a tie in the loss column for 5th out West and wins their 7th game in their last 8 tries. But just because Wallace is playing doesn't mean the team can take a night off on the boards. Even without a center, Portland won the rebounding battle 51-47 over Denver. It's been a while, November 16th , 2009, since Portland last played Atlanta, but not much has changed with ATL. They will showcase a new point guard, Kirk Hinrich, but the main pieces - J. Johnson, J. Smith, J. Crawford, and A. Horford - still remain.

For Portland to continue their climb up the Western Conference ladder, they must defend the paint, no big men or not. Denver provided the blue print on how to attack these Blazers: grab the defensive rebound, get out on the break, finish strong in the paint. Portland needs to find the happy medium in regards to defending the fast break and crashing the offensive glass. If Portland can control the paint, they should walk away victorious.

Yeah.  Red looks like it'd match best.  Wow, didn't play the Hawks in 2010?  Cool.  I say we win by a comfy margin.

I hope you are right Herr, but these Hawks can get hot and pour it on, or they can crawl out on the court.... No way to know which Hawks we will see

I predict a showcase of Wallace's talents and Brandon Roy actually getting to obey the 15 minute limit.  Big game by LaMarcus, Rudy, and Mathews.  Blazers pull away in the 3rd and maybe have the same amount of points as the Hawks in the fourth.  Let's just hope there isn't another overtime.  Or at least not a loss.

I think that we have enough defense to make sure they aren't hot at all during the game espically if Camby is back

Take the same Blazer team that won 6 consecutive games entering the All-Star break then add Roy, Wallace, and Camby. That is a scary team! We have a team that can run the fast-break, play solid D, get some rebounds, and have a decent amount of guys who can hit from beyond the arc. Not to mention, LaMarcus Aldridge is playing All-Star calibur basketball. As long as the Blazers don't have 4:30 droughts and play tight defense, I think they should emerge victorious. The crowd will be very hyped up with Gerald Wallace's debut and I am hoping Portland will feed off of their OT win against Denver!

I hated the Lakers winning, for now.  I'll like it in the long run when they lose in the 2nd round.  But, a good friend of mine named EwoynAmarie has always been predicting things that appear to be correct.  She says we won't catch the Thunder.  Time for her to be wrong for once!

I think the city as a whole is buzzing about the game tonight. The Garden should be jacked up and on 11 for the whole game! I think we match up well with ATL which should make for an entertaining game.

Yeah definetly the only time I'm excited for a lakers win! very excited for the game tonight... should be able to take this one fairly easily with camby back and wallace making his debut... he may not be big in the offense in his first few games but one thing that doesn't change no matter what team you play on is defense and wallace is a defensive specialist so this is going to be exciting... hopefully aldridge gets some must needed rest with the addition of wallace

Trying to integrate essentially three new rotational players at once, is obviously proving to be more than an overnight task.  Tonights game with the Hawks was reflective of alot of ambiguity, even defensively with rotations.  I don't see a long term issue here however, and expect a different game against the Rockets.  No worries.  GO BLAZERS!

Hoping one good practice will iron out some of the issues we saw tonight, chalking this loss up to a weird night where the team was trying to find itself mixed with a bunch of bad luck. Credit ATL for coming out and playing hard and playing some really nice D. We'll see you on the flip side angry birds!

Anyone else swallow a lung when Lamarcus went into the locker room? I counted 4 times Rudy drove to the basket and had a clean shot but yet he felt the need to pass it to a Hawk... grrrrrrrr... we are struggling to get hoops and he is trying to get fancy. Miller had the right idea at the end but it was too little too late. well we were tired I know and it will take a bit to gel got into a little groove there at the end I hope that stays.

Yes I did Barnettfan. I couldn't even cheer or think about the game until LA came back out onto the court. If he would have went down, so would our chances of doing anything in the playoffs, so it was definitely a hige sigh of relief to see him get back into action.

Why we lost: Ball movement, or lack thereof. We had I think  13 assists total last night?! That can't happen. I noticed when we spread the floor to work one-on-one, everybody else without the ball just stood around the perimeter. We need to be setting screens and slashing to the basket, either getting points in the paint or getting to the foul line. By standing around, we let the Hawks set the tone on defense as well as not expending much energy as well.

well this was a horrible game. i would like to know where the Trailblazers where on that one?
I believe Herr said the other day that, " Portland is all about defense"
well this is now certainly untrue. The Hawks were playing with portland in transition the whole game, looks like they weren't even breaking a sweat.
You got Aldridge gettin all gimpy, well thats what happen when you constantly play a guy for 50 mins a night, i mean geez its becoming more apparent that Aldridge cannot hold the load every night.
This was a shamble to end a 7game streak

Other than the fact of the refs were HORRID in the first half and not much better in the second. Which really is no excuse you have to just play through the zebra's. compile that with LA going down in the first ,the team trying to gel, and the fact we just came off 2 tough OT games I will cut them some slack. BUT! you aint going to win playoff games that way.
