In an article in ESPN's rumor mill they say that it may be in the Jazz's plans to hire Nate this summer after his contract with Portland expires. I know Nate's tenure has been a little bit controversial here the last couple of years, but would it make sense to not extend him and let him go to a division rival when there is no clear better option to replace him with? This one concerns me. I actually like Nate. I'm not sure he's the necessarily the right guy going forward, but if not, who is? I can't think of anybody available that would be an improvement. Having said that, it would only be natural for a guy like Nate to replace Sloan. Sloan was there for so long and they are used to playing half court pick and roll o and focusing on defense. Sounds like Nate to me. Any thoughts.

I think its funny people think of Nate as focusing on defense when our opponents fg% has never been in the top 10 under him. As for letting Nate go to a divisional opponent, no good. He knows all of our players strengths and weaknesses, and for the next 5 or so years would destroy us with that information. Nate has shown this year that when Roy isn't there, he can actually make some adjustments. Now will that happen when Brandon comes back? We will have to wait and see. But if this new style of play (the not Broy-iso every play offense) sticks even when Roy returns, I think (and yes I've been on Nate's case for a couple years, but without Brandon this year he has adjusted which was my complaint in the past) we would be crazy to not extend Nate.

No question that we should keep Nate it's not his fault that we have all those injuries.I'am open to see who else is out there but i think we will extend him and i kind of hope he does win COTY but i kind of don't because for the past couple of years it has been the kiss of death for coaches.

I hope it's just another terrible rumor started by all the Laker fans down there at ESPN.
We lose Coach Nate, our sails will catch no wind for a while.

Just can't see Mac goin' to Utah.  Dude is a champ and that's all there is to it.  Who's Portland gonna' bring in to replace him?

    Exactly.

Bad calls? I remember when watching the Lakers game after the all star break that it was the worst match I have ever seen. I don''t think it happens that often to us unless it''s a marquee team.

The list of possibles assumes Oladipo does not fall below the top nine.  I agree that if he did the list would change and most responses would indicate him as the choice.

Oh, sorry Damian, you make so many I stopped reading them. I don''t because I don''t know much about salaries and stuff. Stephenson would be great, excellent rebounder, Tough Defender, is playing awesome in  today''s  game.

Siccolo, did you mean heavier or lighter? I don''t think Noel will do well in the league. If he stays healthy long enough, he might be a half decent starter, if not, Greg Oden.

Damian, you are completely right on that, let''s just hope it''s not a negative impact (Shout out, Ray Ray). And since when did people WANT to come to Portland? This is great.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
