How can Portland get back on track against Cleveland?
Get Aldridge going early & often (9)
    25+ team assists (2)
    Win The Rebounding Battle (4)
    Don't play tight (1)
    Score 100+ (4)

Outside of losing to the Pacers, the Trail Blazers' night was made worse by the Cavs losing in Memphis. Not only does Memphis take over sole possession of the 8th spot out West, but now the Cavs have tied the record for the longest losing streak in NBA history. And guess who's coming to town to try to cement them in NBA history? That's right. The Portland Trail Blazers. Cleveland is by no means a talented team and are without Anderson Varejao, but believe me, they will play their hearts out tomorrow and do whatever it takes to not make it 24 in a row.

I don't think this could have been set up any worse for the Blazers. They are on the 2nd half of a back to back, although Cleveland is too, but they will be the ones playing with the pressure. No team right now wants to be that team that breaks Cleveland's losing streak. To beat Cleveland, Portland must step up on the defensive end. They got run out of the gym by the Pacers and gave up way too many offensive rebounds. Adding to that, Portland needs to move the ball around more. There was just too much one-on-on going on in Indy. LA was passed over again for Love and he wasn't pleased about it, even stating this after hearing about it, "Now I know it's about stats, not wins." Get LA involved early and often and let him take out his frustrations on the Cavs.

I would like to see Portland make their statement early, getting out to a quick lead and dominating the Cavs in every phase of the game statistically.  Cleveland has had their heart ripped out and doesn't believe in themselves as a unit anymore.  DON'T GIVE THEM HOPE in this one.  Bury them early and they will wave the same white flag in the second half they've been waving all season long.  Their body language speaks volumes.

This is a "pendulum" game, meaning that the outcome may very well define where the Blazers are headed the remainder of this season.

As long as Portland doesn't get twenty less FT attempts I'm pretty confident they'll be ok tonight lol.  I think people are placing too much importance on this game.  There's not really anything on the line for the Blazers right now other than the playoff race.  Between injury woes, Aldridge getting snubbed in the all star race, the trade deadline looming and getting bumped out of eighth seed by Memphis it's not like a loss tonight is going to make them feel any worse.

The guys are feeling pretty defeated right now.  That might be presumptuous on my part but I'm trying to imagine how it would be humanly possible for this Blazer team to not be completely deflated.  If they lose, they'll still feel punch drunk.  If they win?  Great.  They won a game they should have won.  There will be a momentary sigh of relief and then they'll look forward to coming home and playing one of the best teams in the East.

Wow after beating the best team in the NBA it would totally be Blazer Motive to come out and lose to the Worst team in the NBA.
That was close to say the least.
Once again, Lack of productivity from Pryzbilla and cunningham, might not of been so close had they worked more.
and did wesley sit at all that game? hahaha

That was a really fun game to watch, other then Dante Cunningham getting spilled onto the court via an accidental elbow, then watching the Blazers set up the offense with their PF curled up at mid court bleeding. Poor DC, he became a human hurdle there for a few plays.

Get better soon Dante, best wishes.

Cunningham got elbowed in the face and only played a quarter or so and you're questioning his productivity?

We were never out of it.  We've played one less game.  The standings don't matter until the end.

Think I had an issue posting.

The next week and a half is huge for Portland.  Of four games they only play one team with an above .400 record.  Chicago isn't a good road team and Portland is more than solid in the RG.  As long as there aren't any injuries (knock on wood) Portland could very easily win the next four.  Blazers have gone for a combined 5-0 against the teams in the following three games after Monday night.

Memphis on the other hand plays 3 of 4 games against teams that have better records than them.  They have beaten LA twice this season but I'm giving the Lakers the edge in that match-up for Monday night.

The next week and a half is so big for the Blazers because it's their last real schedule advantage over the Grizzlies for the rest of the year.  After these four games it's Thunderdome to close out the season for both teams.

Oh and yeah, it's hard to produce when you're dropped by an elbow and sit three quarters.  Get patched up and ready for Monday DC!  After watching that replay a few times I'd say a post game flagrant ruling and a small fine is due.  That was not a defensive or positioning move.  When you throw an elbow back that quick and that high it's no accident when you connect with another players face.  Just watch it a couple times if you haven't.  I tend to give players the benefit of the doubt in a loose ball situation like that but not on this one.

I was very afraid of the result with Cavaliers because they should win finally, they will not lose all matches to the end of the season but We win this hard game and that's all ... waiting for next wins :-)

    GO BLAZERS !!!
