Apparently Nico has been blogging, albeit in French. But someone translated the whole thing and it's a pretty good read. I really liked these portions of it:

    Courtesy of Oregon Live-

The thing that’s great about this team: One day could be my day, and Wesley won’t pout about it, in fact he tells me, “keep shooting if your on, and I will take care of guarding Tyreke Evans” or “I’ll take care of moving the ball” or something to that extent. Against the Clippers, it was the other way … I saw I wasn’t my day. That’s what I really like about guys like Rudy and Wesley … They know when it’s not their day, and they’re not going to force anything. So, against Sacramento, Wes saw things weren’t going his way in terms of scoring, and for me, they went well.
That’s not the only thing I’ve been working on, of course. I’m also trying to develop an interior game … back cuts, flashes to the rim and facing up, 1-on-1. I’m really trying to open up my offensive arsenal. I’m working on all of this with coach Bill Bayno, one of our assistants famous for his work at UNLV. He’s still really athletic and still defends against us in 1-on-1 drills. He has these big pads he wears on his forearms and then we go one on one and he swings those things at us and smacks us like a crazy man. We work on that on the interior to make sure we work on finishing at the rim. They are pads, so it doesn’t hurt at all, but that doesn’t mean you don’t still feel the impact. We do a lot of things of this nature. It’s his work with Aldridge this year that has really paid off.

Great to hear Batum is trying to expand his game and the fact that he's only 22 gives me a lot of hope that we will be able to tap into that seemingly endless potential of his. I think he, LA, and Wesley can form a formidable Big 3 here in Portland.

What we love about this team: Besides the MS in Handling Adversity, a double minor in Teamwork and in Individual Studies. ;-)

You can also throw the URL into Google Translate and get a rough approximation of the colloquial French. Sometimes it's pretty hilarious. In his previous blog, Nic referred to "the road trip of s---" which was an apt summarization.

i hadn't been aware that Nicolas (or any other blazer) has been blogging. it's really interesting how he talks about developing his game, and specifically the mid-range shot. he's shown signs of his cutting ability and it's smooth. we know he can play excellent defense; when he develops the other areas of his offensive game, it's going to make teams think twice about double-teaming LaMarcus.

off-topic question: LaMarcus' name, translated into and out of french, means "the Marcus." do you think Nicolas calls him that? lol j/k

Wow, you guys didn't know Nico did that? I have been reading his blog for over a year now. He doesn't do too many, but they are pretty cool. I always have to run them through Google Translate, which gives an EXTREMELY rough translation, but I can usually get the gist of what he is saying. If you follow him on FB, the right page anyway, it will show up in your feed whenever he posts a new one. Also, they are all archived, so you can go back and read many of them.

Triple threat.  Once Nic learns to create opportunity with the bounce, he will become a very difficult cover.  That is what is needed for Batum to take that next step.

it was a joke; don't take it too seriously. Le is masculine, La is feminine, L' comes before a vowel and Les is plural. yep, that pretty much covers it.

i don't actually speak french, but i know a lot of the principles involved because they run in common threads amongst languages (that, i do know!). in order to read Nicolas' blog, i would have to run it through the google translator ... whatever that is! lol

I agree with you that Portlands big three are L.A., N. Batum, and W. Matthews. I say trade everyone else in order to make the team better and get under the salary cap. GO BLAZERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
