Big game for both team's tonight at the Rose Garden. We're in the midst of our worst losing streak since the dark days and the Clippers, while playing some pretty good basketball, are having a hard time getting over the hump.

You know the Clippers are going to come out with everything they have to get this win tonight. When you struggle like we have, teams, especially teams hungry for a win, start smelling blood in the water.

So if you're coming to the Rose Garden tonight, do whatever it is you would usually do to help the Trail Blazers get a win. We need ALL the help we can get right now. Make it loud.

    GO BLAZERS!!
Doing anything but what I would normally do to support my team would be counter productive. This is Joel's return...he has worked so hard....he deserves the best fan welcome I know we can and will give him. I will not let the other stuff get in the way of that....The BLAZERS are my team...period...

Clippers are a bad team with talent, which is a dangerous combination. They've already knocked off OKC and San Antonio this year and have the talent to really beat anyone, anywhere. I think the crowd will be ready but it's on the team's shoulders. They need to give the crowd a reason to blow the roof off of the RG. Fans can only cheer so much without any extra motivation. A perfect example was the Utah game. We had the lead most of the game but we never had that monumental play to get the crowd really into it, and you could tell they were jut itching to get out of their seats and cheer on the home team. I think we should win tonight, but we need to play 48 minutes of basketball, run the break at EVERY opportunity, and move without the ball on offense.

The crowd will bring it tonight seeing its Joel's home opener, but i agree give us something to cheer about late in the game.

Play all 48 minutes at 110%, just like the Ducks...Win The Day.

    Finally!

But I'm still wondering why we are trying to go through Roy exclusively at the end of games. He shouldn't be running plays right now at crucial times. He should just be a spot up shooter. First it takes forever just to get him the ball because everyone knows he's getting it and Brandon can barely move right now. And second, when he finally gets the ball he either gets double teamed and turns it over or he gets his pocket picked and turns it over. I wonder how long it will take Nate to figure this out.

And I really like Blake Griffin, but tonight the refs sure did give him the benefit of the doubt like 98% of the time. It was ridiculous. Lamarcus shouldn't have had half the fouls he got called for.

Rudy clocked that Smith guy and got him kicked outta the game! I wonder what the Clippers lockeroom looked like with 3 of their post guys all getting dressed early? Or did some of them simply grab their i-phone and head straight for the bus?

You can be the biggest fan and still be a troll when you follow someone around just to start crap all the time. There was no purpose for your first comment in here other than to troll. You had no discussion about the game, the players, the heated moments... none of that! Just "there we go again tom"
    That is trolling.

    Quality post Mikalan!  Welcome!

Great win.  Not because of "who", but rather, "how".  The "attack first, jumpshoot last" mentality, particularly in that first quarter, was L O N G overdue.  That first quarter set the tone.

Joel made his presence felt immediately after entering the game with a hard foul, followed by a stare down.  Looking around the league, I can't think of another player for ANY team that plays the role Joel does better.  One of a kind, and hopefully, a Blazer until retirement.  Joel will honor Luke's memory like no other, with every minute of time he sees this season.  Glad to have you back big guy!!

It seems we got the win, not so much because we fixed the problems we have, but because The Clippers couldn't hit timely shots. We were up by 20 against a really bad team, at home and we almost had another collapse. We ran the same ISO of Roy with 6 seconds on the shot clock and everyone just stood around. This will not get us wins against the top 8 playoff teams in the Western conference. Yes we won, but I'm still worried about this team's offense.

Just a note - on the game page, they've got the video of the first game we had against them at the start of the season. Don't know if that is NBA.com's fault or someone for IAMA can fix that. Anyways, great win for us, hope Joel is ok and can't wait to see if we can step it up vs. the Suns, just like on opening night! Let's do it BLAZERS!!!!

    Here is the definition that matters taken directly from the NBA;

If contact committed against a player, with or without the ball, is interpret-ed to be unnecessary and excessive, a flagrant foul--penalty (2) will be assessed.

That is exactly what happened and if it gets downgraded I will be surprised.
