    From Trail Blazers PR:

Brandon Roy’s MRI on his left knee today showed no significant change from his previous MRI and no surgery is contemplated. He will miss the next two games vs. Denver and Utah and will be reevaluated in a week.

All things considered, I suppose that's good news. I mentioned during Just Casey today that I kind of figured he would sit out the games against the Nuggets and Jazz. With having sat out last night's game, Roy will have had almost two weeks of rest by time the game against the Hornets comes around on November 26. Hopefully that will be enough time for that knee to get right.

Yeah but what I don't understand if it was worse than usual why they didn't sit him out sooner. They seem to not be handling injuries with competence. Like last year with his hamstring they let him come back too early then he had to sit again, and in the playoffs I couldn't believe they let him come back against Phoenix, though it was a memorable moment when he came in. I think they take far too many risks when it involves the health of our team, especially of our best player. It's good to hear he doesn't need surgery, but isn't that what they just said about Oden last week?

Even though Oden's getting surgery and is out for the rest of the season I hope he signs short term contract with the blazers at a veteran's minimal contract just so he can try to play for us. I see talent in the big fella, but he needs to stay healthy. While the doctors are on it, they should check his right knee to make sure its fine too. I just hope his right knee doesn't show signs of wear and tear.

As for Roy... I don't know if its a good thing that there's no surgery needed. I mean if there's nothing they can fix, then his bad knee is just going to stay the way it is. I mean, I don't believe resting his knee will help. There will always come a time when his knee will swell up and he needs to rest for a few days or even weeks. The blazers wouldn't be able to rely on him. He doesn't have that quick 1st step or just that explosiveness to get to the rim like before. We all know that players can rely on jump shots because if they start missing they'll be in trouble.

He can rest his knee all he wants, but I can't see him being as effective as before. This is why I considered a trade while he's still worth something. Sorry if this is a harsh thing to say but its just my opinion.

Am I the only one who doesn't find this as good news? So, Roy's knees are bothering him and it's been reported that he's basically playing as close to bone on bone as it gets, but no further damage has been done? Huh? Anyone who has seen Roy play these past two weeks knows that is not even a shell of Roy's former self. So if surgery can't fix what's wrong, then will he ever be that same player again?

Relax Blazer fans.  We are so tense about injuries, that every time a player even starts to look hurt, we analyze it to death.
Roy can not play at the pace he was for an entire season, and the playoffs. Nor can he be the only offense the team knows.
We need Joel back so we arent having this same conversation about LA down the road this season.
To me, Roy out for the season would have been bad news.
It's comical at this point with Oden.

Breathe !  Roy has dealt with these knees his entire basketball career......

I hope rest and recuperation is the recipe for recovery for Brandon. If we want to make a serious playoff run, we'll definitely need a 100% Employee #7 on our side.

Roy said his knee has been bothering him since he joined the team, he seemed pretty good the last couple years, but than again it would make sence to play your hart you to get out of your rookie contract than when you get signed to a max deal than you start complaining about things.    Just portlands luck if you ask me and Greg Oden blazers Just need to say good bye.

I don't think so, I think it is bad news also, you can't help but wonder if he just played through the pain to get through his rookie conract and get his max contract, and now with the way portlands luck is I wouldnt be saprised if Roy becomes our next Greg Oden as far as injuries go,

1.) Trade Roy for what he's worth right now, before he gets worse cause his knee will never get better, he can rest it and get by for a few games, but the wear and tear will mess up his knee in the long run.

2.) Forget about a playoff push. We still have a decent team, but what's the point if the playoff team portland was, was carried by Roy, who seems to be limited from this point on.

3.) Rebuild the team around LA, Batum, Wes, Armon, and Joel. Make deals for future first round picks and lets go back to the drawing boards. We can aim for a lottery pick that can be franchise changing.

Yes this sounds crazy, but do you honestly see the Blazers competing for a championship with the team we have now? IMO even if roy was 100% it'd still be a tough battle to get deep into the playoffs.

Think about the sonics in 05, They had ray allen, rashard lewis, antonio Daniels, Nick collison, and luke ridnour. This was a great team coached by mcmillan, 52-30. They were going no where besides down hill, so they start trading and letting go players and picking up draft picks. in 08 they are stacked with KD, Westbrook, and jeff Green. Now look where they're at. They need a true Center to make them a deadly team in the west. I need to try something new because portland is at a stand still from this point.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...
