Since Roy is hobbled, his play has been up and down, and his knee health is unsure, should Nate play Luke and Armon together as a strategy for offense. They know each other well, I assume they know how to play together - we did see something in them because these are the guys we drafted. We need offense and a group to come off the bench and score, why not try it?
Sit Roy, start Rudy and Luke can come in for Rudy. Is this Stupid, or am I getting desperate?

I would like to see more Luke, but Nate will probably lean more on Rudy and Matthews in Roy's absence.
I don't think we'll see a lot of him unless the season goes really south (which i'm hoping it doesn't *knocks on wood*)

The only negative aspect is that you wont have your strongest players in the game, and losing the lead early in the game can sometimes hurt big time.
But honestly Kenny you have wiped the #$#@ from my eyes once more, i think that starting Rudy in place of Roy, due to minor injury for a while, could really help with some W's.
Rudy is very energenic and he could totally start, but whats the use of a bench if you dont use them right?
So i think this is a good idea it might need to be tweaked a little, but nonetheless pretty decent.

That's not actually a stupid suggestion . In the first place, that's what every coach should have been doing especially if they're aware that a key player is hurt AND if the the team is playing back-to-back games. What pains me is that the coach only used nine players in the rotation. I think he should be using ALL players on the floor. Each one of them can't play for 48 minutes on the floor for consecutive games. That's why this is called a TEAM, because everyone should have been playing, and not only nine. Why the hell did they sigh Sean Marks if he's just going to sit in the bench? why the hell did they draft Luke Babbit for the same reason? Everyone should have been given opportunities on the floor, and everyone should also have been given opportunities to take some rest in games and not give them a lot of pressure.

I agree that with Broy's minutes we should see more action out of Rudy and more importantly Wesley Mathews. I don't think Broy will be losing to much time, maybe 5-10 minutes, yet still will let the bench see more time on the court. As for Luke and AJ, they are showing progress, especially The Hammer! I think Luke needs more time to develop then AJ does, also Nate has never been fond of playing rookies so he'll get his garbage time, and experience off the court through the vets but probably won't be seeing too much of the court this year. Let's just hope that the bench can step it up and show the depth that we have. GO BLAZERS!!!

Armon Johnson is the man for the blazers this season as far as a PG coming off the bench. If McMillan plays him right and works with him I firmly believe he could be the blazers starting PG in two years. He's already more consistent then Bayless was his sophomore year and his passing is definitely better. We'll see but I think if he played for a terrible team he could be in the top 5 for rookies this year. Other teams had better watch out because portland might have a young energetic point guard very soon!
I am a fan of Roy's finesse, Oden's blocks, Miller's passing, Batum's defense, everyone's hustle and team play; along with Rudy's pizzaz!

Yea this is an idea i have been puzzled at because of it not being used.  They have known each other since elementary school.  They have more chemistry than any 2 ppl on the team.  A lineup of Armon, Nicolas Batum, Luke Babbit, Dante Cunningham, and Aldrige would be sick.  Armon pushing the ball kicking it to Luke when he knows hes ready in the spots he likes.  Armon has shown good chemistry with Dante Cunningham in the pick and pop and he has a good mid range.  Good Spacing, defense, 3pt shooting, decent rebounding. They should have played Armon more against OKC both times in my opinion could have really helped.

Personally, I would prefer starting the game with Matthews and having Rudy's energy coming off the bench, depending on match-ups.  Either way, you're giving up quite a bit.  Starting Rudy, sacrificing defense.  Starting Matthews, where are the points going to come from?  LA?  He hasn't ever shown the ability to be the 2nd option on a consistent basis, let alone the primary.  I would rather start Matthews and at least set the tone defensively early.  Not a stupid question, given the current roster and recent developments.

I don't think thats a stupid question. I'm not so sure about Luke yet.but I like what I've seen from Armon cause he like to play uptempo ball. I see Portland as a team of horses that likes to. wants to. and can run the floor. From our Bigs on down the line I think we ARE built to run (minus B Roy). i don't see another team in the league thats built for runnin' the way we are...whaddya think about that my Blazer friends?

I like the idea but I would assume the turn over ratio would be very high. As for offense, if Luke can get hot, I would pair his skill equal to Rudy. I will say that Starting Armon Hammer would be amazing. His skill potential is amazing.

Jeremy Lamb? I definitely think he was buried in OKC''s bench, so i don''t know how good he really is. I know he is amazing in 2K though.

Sanders better shotblocker, better dunker and around the rim, Asik better defensively. I think Asik will have the better career.
