Ugh. Bad news today out of Trail Blazers HQ:
Trail Blazers guard Elliot Williams will undergo surgery to repair a dislocated right patella, the Trail Blazers announced today.

The injury occurred Wednesday, Nov. 3, during court conditioning drills at the team's Practice Facility. Williams will be re-evaluated after surgery but will likely miss the rest of the regular season.
Elliot wasn't likely to play much this season either way, but still a terrible injury to have happen to anyone, let alone a rookie. Best of luck to Elliot during his rehabilitation.

Thoughts? Are we destined to deal with serious injuries every year? Were you expected Williams to make an impact this season? Let's hear it.

"dislocated right patella" Why is it always something to do with our knees? After so many you cant just keep saying bad luck bad luck, I think they really need to start looking into the way we are conditioning and training our guys. No question about it to me, We are doing something seriously wrong

I was expecting EW to make some impact, that is until Rudy started putting points on their face. EW is going to have to wait his turn.  Someone has to ride the dnp list with Mills and Oden.  It must be in the water.

Damn. Injuries are a part of the game, but its never good for them to happen to young and upcoming players. I really hope this doesn't derail his career.

Agreed Dustin, I hate seeing this happen to anyone but especially to young guys. I really hope he's able to make a strong return.

Ironically, this may give Mills an opportunity (to at least dress)...Mills a player whom you may all remember went thru a very similar situation last season.  Like Fallen_Deity, I was anticipating EW getting an invite to All-Star Weekend, and was curious as to just how many Blazers might have the chance to make the trip.  One less now :(.  Very unfortunate.  I feel for the kid.  The injury bug seems to have found his way back.  Two season-enders and November JUST started!  Both KNEES.

This is too bad . . what is it with our team and season-ending injuries - yes especially to our young guys. Definitely wish him well and hope it doesn't turn out into a long-term thing. I was wondering what had happened to him actually. Anyways, hope rehab goes well and that he'll be ready for next season.

I wonder how many people can make the same comments about Blazers and knees, its no longer a clever observation. For those of you who are posting and not aware, Elliot suffered this injury during his collegiate career and was continuing to play with it to see if he could, after practice it was sore and evaluated to require surgery. Yes this is upsetting on paper but Elliot was not going to see any playing time, other than All-star break in the rookie game. A loss the Blazers can afford.

Enjoy the second half of the Thunder game, keep watching Batum frustrate Durant with the D, and Johnson on the point.

    GO BLAZERS

You don't waive a rookie who's on a 2+2 contract, you waive a second rounder sophmore who's on the back end of a 2+1 contract. thanks for playing though.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
