i really think jeff pendergraph and dante cunningham are great!
dante crashes the boards, jeff dunks with energy.    and if they got more playing time i think they could really do something good!
i mean when jerryd bayless got playing time because brandon roy was hurt he was amazing soring left and right.
i hope our new rookies get a chance!

Don't forget about Luke Babbit either. I think he comes in right away and backs up Nico for a quarter of so, as I think Batum is ready for 35 minutes a night. He'll come in right away and be a flat out scorer and add MUCH needed 3 point shooting off of the bench.

yah i don't know a lot about babbitt but i will just have to wait and see.

and nick batum rocks, we need his energy and strength in the game, with jeff as backup of something.
he is a great scorer  and can play with the best of 'em.

    Batum Batum pow!

Where were cunningham and pendergraph when we needed them most during the series with Phoenix? .....

i was hoping to see Pendergraph more alot after witnessing the energy he brings. Gotta love that guy and Cunningham looked really good as well. If one thing can be said it is that our drafts are turning out a lot better these days.

they didn't get a lot of chance in the playoffs this year, they rarely got on the court they just need to grow and they will be good backups.

They were in fact on the bench because McMillan refuses to play youngsters in the playoffs unless it's a lopsided score.

Exactly Mark, and playing them in the regular season isn't his thing either. But we got new rookie guards, woo hoo !!  I do like Babbitt and Gomes though.

i am with u all the way mark!  in the playoffs the starting five weren't doing well so the bench couldn't have done much worse!  they just need a chance.

I don't think so. I think Nate has a problem with players who can't play defense.....do you honestly think Pendergraph or Cunningham would have been able to contain Amare Stoudimire?...Thats why Rudy doesn't start..Rudy doesn't play defense very well...

Yes,  Dante did a great job on Amare from where I was sitting.  If Nate had a problem with people who don't play defense, I would expect Miller and Rudy to both ride the bench.  Keep it real, Nate will not play rookies unless he has no other options....

Usually in the playoffs, team's shorten, not expand, their benches. Portland went with an 8-9 man rotation and they were just on the outside looking in. An advantage to shortening your rotation for the playoffs is it gets your best players in a good rhythm and flow. Each player knows their role and they don't have to play looking over their shoulder.

.....thats funny cause when you look at the box scores from the phoenix and portland playoff series games....there aren't any players on phoenix with 0pts. yet night in and night out there were at least 2-3 players on the blazers bench with 0pts.

I like Jeff, but I hope they deal him away and give Dante more minutes. Dante is more of an x factor than outlaw. I love how dante can come into a game and smoothly take the open jump shot as a rookie, energy and confidence in himself without being cocky is something a team can rally around. If Dante would have played in the playoffs that may have helped, but we all knew going in Nate wasn't going to play him much if at all because he's a rookie so you gotta live with it.

Also, it is going to be extremely hard to watch Babbit ride the bench this year, as he could very well do under Nate. How much respect, if any, will Nate give a lottery pick to fell to us at 16?

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
