    Who's winning the West?
    Phoenix (5)
     42%
    Los Angeles (7)
     58%
With all of the LeBron talk and the other 3 sweeps taking place, I have forgotten about the upcoming Western Conference Finals. Of course I'll be pulling for anyone but the Lakers, but Phoenix has been let off the hook, playing against a hurt Blazer team and not a very big Spurs team. Will the Lakers big men be too much for Frye, Collins, Stoudemire, and Amundson to handle? Can Richardson continue to keep his shooting hot?  Or can their bench keep up their amazing outputs? A lot of questions will be answered soon!

Well, I don't know about all the match-up stuff and technical things, but I want the Suns to win. Channing Frye in the Finals - how cool would that be? :-)

I would LOVE for the Suns to take it for multiple reasons.... However, I have a feeling the Lakers are gonna take it.  They have so many big guys I think its going to be difficult for PHX to penetrate.  Either way, will be fun to watch.

Has to be the Lakers, though it's going to be a heck of a series. Kobe is playing as well as he has all season and no combination of Grant Hill/Jason Richardson/Jared Dudley is going to change that.

Suns are probably the best prepared to neutralize LA's size by having bigs who can shoot from the perimeter, but Pau and Odom, though they don't prefer it, can defend out to the 3-point line. Not to mention Artest, who can guard anyone the Suns are going to throw at him.

Suns have a serious advantage when it comes to the bench, but that's not nearly as important in the playoffs as it is in the regular season.

Think it'll be the Lakers, though wouldn't be surprised if the Suns found a way to pull it out.

Who do I want to win? Phoenix
    Who will win? Los Angeles

Like always, those Lakers have found the proverbial switch and flipped in "on". Phoenix can keep it close if their bench continues to excel against a weak LA bench, but the key will be how Amare and Frye defend Gasol and Bynum. You have to believe STAT and Pau will cancel each other out, but Fry's going to have to keep the defense honest from the perimeter to open up space for others to operate and hope Bynum has an off series on offense.

A combination of home court advantage and Kobe will put the Suns away in 6.

    I agree with Casey,
Fisher and Nash will cancel each other out, as will Amare and Gasol.
Kobe/Artest  will not let Richardson/Dudley/Hill score like they have been in the playoffs.  But I hope Orlando wins it all !

Phoenix. Bench play will be key. We beat LA with bench play and Phoenix can do the same. If the Suns get hot this next week, LA has no answer. I keep hearing about how great LA is down low, but Bynum is not legit and Frye should have no problems watching him miss jump hook after jump hook. Force Artest to shoot from the perimeter and body up Gasol. Richardson will keep Kobe honest from the outside and that will be all she wrote. Suns in 6!

First of all as a die hard Trailblazer's fan I hate the lakers with all my heart especially after the 2000 western conference finals... and I am not to fond of the Suns for defeating my Blazers in the first round, regardless the defending champs will be just too much for the hot Suns. they are too long and have a little too much experience for Steve Nash and the Suns. Despite what happens in the western conference finals I believe the Orlando Magic will be crowned champions when it is all said and done.....

Suns cant match up to the size of L.A., and L.A. is already used to a faster running team (OKC). So easy win for L.A.

As a team that ha only won one nba title, I feel bad for teams like the Magic and Suns who don't even have one. Not only do I loathe LA but I'm a sucker for the underdog!

Series kicks off tonight and it looks like Kobe's knee is acting up on him as he has had it drained and is not practicing.
    Kobe Not Practing

Is this just a classic case of Kobe getting too old and signs of him breaking down or him just going through the motions and once the balls gets tossed into the air, he'll be ready to go? My guess is on the latter.

I may be fairly new to the NBA world, but even I know that Phoenix was the better team against us (Portland) with or without all the injuries.  We inplayed.  We lost.  Now the better team in LA, look at their record.  If the Suns win, I would be VERY surprised.

    Forever a Blazers fan!!!!!!

I'd like to see the Suns pull off the upset but, LA will most likely beat them. Both conference finals should be really good, a Suns/Magic final would be fresh and new but A Lakers/Celtics finals just seems more epic.

The week long layoff really hurt the Suns who were riding a wave of momentum and looked out of sync from the get go. Also, its going to take a while to get Lopez back into rhythm. Could his return this late into the season have an adverse effect on the team and instead of helping PHX, it hinders them. Kind of like when Nelson came back for Orlando in the Finals last year. On the plus side, it is only 1 game, but PHX needs to win Game 2 to have a realistic shot at this series.

An open Jason Richardson leads to Suns victories.  I still think the Suns are toast too though. I wonder what happened to allthose cocky Suns fans who said they would win it all around here ???

Amare had a huge game, 42 points, but he should be doing that every game against LA. Gasol is a poor defender and Bynum isn't quick enough to stay in front of him. If I'm Phoenix, I go to Amare all day long and make LA make adjustments to it. His first step is as quick as it gets for any big man and he loves attacking the basket, which means easy free throws and foul trouble for the Laker bigs.

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.
