1997-98: Overall record: 46-36 (12th in league, 6th in conference,)
A head coaching change and a blockbuster trade headlined a season in which the Blazers posted their ninth straight winning season and their 19th in the last 22 years. Mike Dunleavy, taking over the reigns from P.J. Carlesimo, guided Portland to a 46-36 regular season record and its 16th consecutive trip to the playoffs, the longest current streak in the NBA. 1996-97: Overall record: 49-33 (11th in league, 5th in conference)
For the second year in a row, Coach P.J. Carlesimo's club came on strong in the final two months of the season to nail down a playoff berth, this time the fifth seed in the West. Only a game above.500 going into the last day of February, the Blazers proceeded to go on an 11-game winning streak, the second longest in club history, and finished the season by taking 20 of their last 25 games. Man, this one is a crapshoot. I bet if these teams played 100 times, it would be awfully close with about each team winning 50 times.
I'll go with 98 simply because Jermaine was a year older, Sabas and Sheed had an extra year in our system, Damon was better than Kenny Anderson who was on the decline, and we had added Brian Grant.
Also, I think Dunleavy was a much better coach than PJ and the 98 team was preparing for a WCF run the following years. That team really set the groundwork for our WCF runs the following seasons and put the Blazers back on the map.

This past season the biggest problem was that we had 5 players that did the majority of the scoring for this team and the bench didn''t produce or defend at all.   This coming season the Blazers are going to need production from both the first...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.

Aldridge is not a diva. Dwight Howard is a diva. Allen Iverson was a diva. Kobe Bryant can be a diva at times.... LA is not a Center but he can play there at times if the situation demands it. If we have someone who can protect him inside then he ...

You know what is good about the draft you can usually move up and down if your willing. We could have gotten Drummond and everyone here knows it. We also could have taken Harkless, or Henson at 11 or moved back a few spots. We also could have draf...
