As much as I wanted to see what this squad could do this season 100% it doesn't look like its going to be the case. Will KP mortgage the future for this season or ride it out and develop the young talent we have? I'm with Hawes that we need front court help ASAP for us to even think about contending this season, what we have to give up to do that is the question. As for the Devin Harris question, at this point in the season I don't think he's going to fix anything, our back court is solid enough with all the guard combinations we can do. Miller for Haywood is fine with me but probably not so much for the Wiz. Haywood and perhaps Jeff Foster would be fixes for the season where we don't have to give up too much, trading for Bosh would be interesting in a ESPN Trade Machine sort of way but would dramatically change both teams.

I'll pass on Devin Harris. What has he lead his team to? A 3-40(?) record and on pace to become the worst team of all-time? No thanks. Great players help their teams win no matter the surrounding talent. Adversity is starring Harris right in the face right now, and winning.
Back to getting a big man. I would not trade Miller right now. He is on a great contract and is playing amazing point guard ball. Bayless can still learn a lot under his tutelage. I really like Haywood but at what cost really? I really do not want to mortgage the future for this season, a season in which would be considered a success if we just make the playoffs.
I have absolutely no problem making a trade and using one of our young assets in doing so as long as it benefits the team in the long run.

Well, seeing that Roy is a bit gimpy we need Andre to be the floor general now. He looks like he can be that guy when Roy isn't on the floor. Can we go the rest of the season without a big man? Do we play uptempo and small and see where we end up? I'm not so sure KP can find a trade partner that won't want to rob us of talent considering our situation.

The trade makes no sense... Bayless, Miller, and Roy have all doing what needs to be done to secure wins. Basing a trade on a wing and a prayer in exchange for talent that can be developed over time is simply a bad trade based on merits alone. Though we can't blame Devin Harris for playing on a team that has no defensive back-court to speak of, youth and skill alone will not win championships. You need a team with a solid foundation, and experience, in order to make it. That's what PDX is tryin' to do: Build a championship team that can dominate for a number of years. With healthy guys, our roster now could feasibly do that... Injuries are what's preventing this from happening, and there's little that can be done about something like that.

I could maybe see a trade for Blake and a future draft pick in exchange for Harris, but that's it. We already know, for the most part, that the Nets will be at the front of the line aching for a draft pick. There's no need to spike the punch and shoot ourselves in the foot. The only way I could maybe see anyone else aside from Blake and a draft pick being altered is if we put up some cash and maybe another player (Pendergraph/Cunningham, maybe on an outside chance?) for the Nets' first round pick, where we pick up a young hungry Center.

But we know that ain't gonna happen.    =)~

The way Andre is playing, and how friendly his contract is, Portland would be foolish to trade him unless it GREATLY improved our long-term success. Also, this team needs a big or veteran small forward, not a point guard. We have Andre for a couple more years and then it'll be Bayless' turn to take the reigns. I really like the idea of a 3-guard rotation of Roy, Bayless, Marty/Rudy.

Hasheem Thabeet is apparently on the market...I wonder if he will live up to his potential or what the Grizzlies would want in return? With Rudy Gay leaving seeming imminent, would they want a package based around Rudy Fernandez? I called Thabeet a bust around the draft, but if the  price were right, I'd roll the dice on him.

Grizzlies are in the playoff mix right now. I dunno if they'll wanna do something drastic, and mess up the best squad in Grizzlies history.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
