Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 2001-02 vs 2002-03 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

2001-02: Overall record: 49-33 (tie, 8th in league, 6th in conference, 3rd in division) Things were looking grim for the Blazers as they began the new year. On January 2, they lost at home to Toronto to drop their record to 13-18, the farthest below .500 since 1996. First year coach Mo Cheeks was searching for answers. It was obvious he had found what he was looking for, because by March 23, the Blazers were the hottest team in the NBA. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

2002-03: Overall record: 50-32 (tie, 5th in league; tie, 5th in conference; tie, 2nd in division) A slow start morphed into a big-time run, leading to a 21st consecutive playoff berth. Through the first 16 games, the Blazers were just 7-9 and only 5-4 at home. But then during a torrid two-month run leading up to the All-Star break, Portland was the hottest commodity in the league, winning 22 of 27 games. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

Two very similar teams, separated by only one game in the final seasonal records, but 03 would win this one.
First, they showed a lot more heart than the previous year, as they fell down 0-3 to Dallas, yet were in position to become the only NBA team to come back from down 0-3. Also, Sabonis came back for his final year and was very pivotal. A more experienced Zach Randolph was on the 03 team, who sparked the Blazers rally in the series against Dallas. This was really Z-Bo's coming out season. Finally, Scottie Pippen was great at running the show as the point guard and he did that in 03, not in 02.

03 wins. The return of Sabas does it all for me! I am a sucker for awesome big men and he was simply amazing down the stretch of that season. If he had any more stamina I think we could have really won that game 7 against Dallas. Also, I think Dunleavy lost the team in 02 during his last year, so Cheeks was a breathe of fresh air for his first season.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

Jermaine O''Neal, Drazen, Z-Bo, Sheed (I know he was already a star but still). Also Drazen was buried under Drexler and Porter.

AHA! Mystery solved Chloe. And so what? Just because a woman is weaker, she can slap a man?

EZ, are you kidding me? You essentially want to trade LMA for Noel, or worse, DEANDRE JORDAN?

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.

Special K, aren''t you a cereal? And yes, Batum is expensive, but I think he''s worth it. Why would you take someone who isn''t is as good, just for less money. Then why don''t we take the worst possible player and pay him the least possible amoun...
