Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1976-77vs 2003-04 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1976-77: Overall record: 49-33 (tie, 4th in league, 3rd in conference, 2nd in division) Blazermania is born. The Trail Blazers crowned a storybook season by besting favored Philadelphia to win the NBA Championship, a first-ever world title for Portland. The capper came June 5 in Memorial Coliseum when Coach Jack Ramsay's club pulled out a 109-107 thriller in the sixth and deciding game. The Blazers became only the second team in NBA history to go all the way in their first trip to the playoffs. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

2003-04: Overall record: 41-41 (tie, 14th in league, 10th in conference, 3rd in division) A rally in March and early April with 12 wins in 16 games wasn't enough as Portland missed making it into the post season for the first time since 1982 and only the second time since winning the NBA title 28 years earlier. No chance at the #1 seed being upset here. The 76-77 team was just utterly dominant in the playoffs and were clicking on all cylinders. With the absence of Sheed, 03-04 has no one in the post to score on or defend against Mo and Walton.

Agreed on all accounts. The Champs could lose in the bracket, but not until the Finals or Semi's. 49 wins isn't all that impressive, but obviously they were gelling at the right time and it all came together. Portland has never had a dominant big man like Bill Walton and I just don't see anyone on 03-04 coming close to stopping him..I mean seriously..a ZBO/SAR front court..yikes!

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

P.S. Would anybody happen to have a...

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Thank God they are 19 games over 500.  Mayb...

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
