Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1988-89 vs 2005-06 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1988-89: Overall record: 39-43 (17th in league, 8th in conference, 5th in division) On February 18, the Trail Blazers were 25-22 but had lost eight of their last 13 and six of their last 10 at home. At this juncture, assistant coach Rick Adelman was promoted to interim coach, replacing Mike Schuler. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

2005-06: Overall record: 21-61 (30th in league, 15th in conference, 5th division) Nate McMillan inherited one of the NBA's youngest and least experienced teams when he took over as the Trail Blazers's 12th head coach. His youthful Trail Blazers, who averaged just 24.5 years of age and three seasons of professional basketball experience, were thoroughly tested while navigating in a rugged Western Conference that was populated with teams boasting eight of the league's 12 best records. Portland finished with a 21-61 season's mark, matching the second-lowest win total in franchise history and the fewest victories since 1972-73, the club's third year in the league. 88-89 quite easily. The 05-06 team was just downright difficult to watch as they were very young and inexperienced. The 89 team was on the cusp of greatness and as soon as they hired Adleman on mid-season, things started to click which set the tone for the following 3 seasons. I mean, is an 18 year old Webster going to guard the Glyde and how in the world is Telfair going to defend Porter? This would be one of the bigger blowouts in this bracket.

88-89. I know they didn't start off the greatest, but that team really had a lot of talented pieces and on experience alone should be favored over the 05-06 team. A team who finishes last in the NBA has no business winning ANY matchup. We were down right BAD in 06.

Dude, who would guard Clyde or Terry? Bassy or JJ? Charles Smith? This would be bad... really bad. Buck would handle Z-Bo with EASE. Sorry, this is a ROUT. 140-88, maybe.

Buck actually didn't come until the 89 offseason, so I think Zach would still get his #'s on Bowie, but still not enough to hold off the Big 4 (Duck, TP, Mercy, Glyde)
