Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 2007-08 vs 1973-74 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

2007-08: Overall record: 41-41 (tie 15th in league, 10th in conference, 3rd in division) With a nine-game improvement from the season prior, the 2007-08 Trail Blazers posted a 41-41 record, marking the first time Portland finished the regular season at .500 or better since 2003-04. The league's youngest team ran off 13 straight wins in December, the second-longest winning stretch in franchise history. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

1973-74: Overall record: 27-55 (16th in league, 9th in conference, 5th in division) The Blazers, in their fourth NBA season, improved by six games in the win column over the previous campaign but were still near the bottom of the league with a 27-55 record. Portland's one-two scoring punch of Geoff Petrie and Sidney Wicks added some luster to the season along with third-year guard-forward Larry Steele, who became the club's first NBA statistical leader. 07-08 annihilates 73-74. I am a bit biased, but 07-08 was the first year as being a season ticket holder, but again, look at the records..40+ wins v. 20+ wins..not a tough call.
13 game winning streak...Travis going Mr. 4th Quarter on everyone..Roy making his first All-Star appearance..the strength and athleticism would be too much for the boys in the 70's to handle.

This is about as easy as they get, and one of the anomalies of the bracket. A 41-41 record in 1972-73 would have been good enough for 9th in the NBA. Of course, there were only 17 teams back then, but still.

Even if both these teams had the same record, the 13 game winning streak the 07-08 team put together trumps anything the 72-73 team did.

    2007-08 in a landslide.

07-08. No one in the 70's could hang with BRoy. We were too deep, young, and didn't know we weren't supposed to be that good.
This one could end up being a SHUTOUT!

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

Thanks Siccolo, not to knock on Bosh. I think if he was the number one option he would go back to being a beast. I miss making jokes about him playing for the RAPTORS. He is a great player.

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...
