Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1981-82 vs 1972-73 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1981-82: Overall record: 42-40 (tie, 13th in league, 8th in conference, 5th in division) Even though they finished the year at 42-40, two games above .500, the 1981-82 Trail Blazers became the first Portland team to miss the NBA Playoffs in six seasons. While only 12 of the 22 other teams in the league had better records, four of those were in the tough Pacific Division and seven were in the Western Conference. 1972-73: Overall record: 21-61 (tie, 15th in league, 9th in conference, 5th in division) Under new head coach Jack McCloskey, the Blazers struggled to a 21-61 finish and won just 13 times at home. But Portland, with two of the league's top-10 scorers (Geoff Petrie, 24.9 ppg, and Sidney Wicks, 23.8 ppg) providing the punch, played an upbeat, fastbreak brand of basketball that helped boost home attendance by more than 1,000 a game over the previous season. 81-82 wins big time. Although I was not alive during either of these teams' hey-day, going by records alone, a team that only wins 21 times has no business beating a team that goes 2 games over .500.
It would be very tough to contain Wicks and Petrie though....

Yeah, tough one to determine. What rules are we going by? 1972 rules or 1981 rules? If we go by 1981 rules... I actually think the 1972 team has a shot. Reason being, 3 point line. Geoff Petrie would have scored 60 points easily if he could shoot from 3.

I give the nod to 81-82 simply because 72-73 allowed 112 ppg, and that was before the 3-point line! Play some defense guys.

I have no idea and haven't seen either team play, but I'll go with Casey. If you give up 112, sans a 3 pt line..you have no business winning this matchup.

Yeah I hated Gangnam style after 2 days of over enthusiastic white people playing it multiple times. And I found it pretty funny. Chalupa man will be missed.

Or Dallas keeps pick and drafts a foreign player meaning he does not count against the cap. No one is just going to give up a mid level first round pick even in a weak draft for 2 mid second round picks in an even weaker second round of a weak dra...

Well it all depends on what you use that cap space for doesn''t it sign Tony Allen and now your Batum for Dunleavy trade just became Batum for Dunleavy and Tony Allen and starts looking a lot better
