Here's the word from my ESPN fantasy league insiders:

"The Chicago Bulls blog speculates that Brad Miller, who was benched along with John Salmons by head coach Vinny Del Negro to start the second half in the Bulls' 88-81 loss to the Knicks Tuesday, could possibly be traded to Portland to replace the injured Joel Przybilla. On the floor, Miller, who put up another 0-fer Tuesday, though in just 13 minutes with three shots, now has made just one shot in the last four games and is 1-for-15 in that stretch in 79 minutes played. With Tyrus Thomas on the verge of coming back and Taj Gibson along with James Johnson available to play the four, Miller's time should and is likely limited. Portland is now without Przybilla and Greg Oden and will need to acquire a big man, which could be Miller or Samuel Dalembert, possibly for the expiring contracts of Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw."

I would certainly hope getting either one of those caliber of players would require simply the expiring contract of either Blake OR Outlaw, and not both as the article seems to imply. What do y'all think?

Just say no to trading Outlaw unless we know he is out for the year and promise to re-sign him :)
Big no to Brad Miller, as he has really fell off the map lately.
Big yes to Sammy D, but the question becomes, is he available really and how bad is his contract?
We do need a big man though to finish out the year.

Blake is our new cold blooded killa'! He just splatted 5-7 from downtown. We need his outside shooting. Juwan is playing terrific, and Pendergraph is just starting to get his sea legs under him. If we start losing a bunch of games, and it's obvious we need another big man, KP might think about a trade. But teams are gonna throw horrible offers at us, because they think we're in a pickle.
Winning 6 of the last 7 games, does desperation not make.

Dalembert is a good defender but not as good as his salary. He comes with practically with no offense. Miller might get back to his old self with some regular playing time but he's already old and a big risk. We definitely need to find a fix but I'm not sold on either of them.

If we get a big for one of our guards, I would prefer he has a short contract, because both Joel and Greg will return next year and then we'd be stuck with 3 centers. KP definitely has his work cut out for him, so it'll be intriguing to see what he has in store for Portland.

Please no Brad Miller!!! He is a shell of his former self. If we are trying to target obtainable centers, the Clippers might be willing to part with one of their two studs in Kaman and Camby. Maybe Marcin Gortat could be available, but I'm not sure I'm down with his contract length since he was just signed this offseason. Really if Jeff can continue to rebound the way he is, I'd rather deal Blake for a small forward. Blake for James Jones anyone?

What about Gerald Wallace? He is one of the leaders in rebounds per game and doesn't need the ball to score. He could mentor Batum for a few years, because Nic is still so young, it wouldn't hinder his development at all.
I mean, Charlotte isn't going anywhere, anytime soon and Crash is able to play some 4 as well.
The only question is what would the Bobcats want in return?

I would be astonished if we'd be able to get G. Wallace now. A couple years ago maybe, but he's balling out of his mind right now and I doubt the Boobies would give him up for just about anything.

Wallace would look great here, but this will never happen. I agree that any offer from another team will be terrible due to how desperate we are the get some size. Might need to hold out for next season?

Rudy (the centerpiece), Blake (expiring), Joel (Knee may never be the same, can opt out), & Shavlik (purely a contract filler)
    for
Gerald Wallace and D. Diop (bad contract)

    Roster
    PG- Miller/Bayless/Mills
    SG- Roy/Webster
    SF- Wallace/Batum
    PF- Aldridge/Outlaw/Cunningham
    C- Oden/Pendergraph/Diop

I'd even throw in the rights to Freeland, PetKo, or Claver if need be. Crash is the DPOY right now, and he could teach Batum a lot of things.

The trade was successful on the ESPN Trade Machine.

If we are talking about available bigs, I say Jeff Foster from Indy. He plays bigger than his size and is a rebounding machine. Plus, I don't think it'd quite cost us an arm and a leg either to acquire him.

Wallace wouldn't fit with McMillian and his style of play.

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
