How many players will we get into the All-Star Game.
    One (10)
     42%
    Two (6)
     25%
    Three (5)
     21%
    Four (2)
     8%
Five (we gotta get a starting unit in the All-Star Game) (1)
     4%
Ok fans, we've got four players on the All-Star ballot:

    Brandon Roy (2-Time All-Star)
    LaMarcus Aldridge (Rookie/Sophomore Participant)
    Greg Oden (Rookie/Sophomore Participant)
    Andre Miller

How many will get into the All-Star game, and who is missing from this list. Discuss.

Unfortunately, if there was an option for none I would have been tempted to select it. Is Roy a All-Star caliber player? Most definitely. I just don't think he has played well enough to warrant an All-Star selection...so far. I do think he will take form now that he is moved back to his natural position of small forward.

LaMarcus is always a little slow out of the gate, so not sure he'll make a ton of appearances since it is a mid-season accolade, but I'll take a slow start as long as it comes with a strong finish every day of the week.

With a lack of great big men, Greg should be a staple of All-Star games in the future and if he has more 20-10 games the rest of the season, he could sneak into the show this year, esp with Yao out and David West being on a losing team.

On an 11-5 team and clearly the leader... Roy will make it. 19.8, 5, 4 are decent numbers for Roy. In fact, better than his first year he made the All-Star team. But agreed, he will be become more productive with this rotation.

I actually think West playing on a sub-500 team will help Aldridge more than Oden. Oden's competition for center will be Bynum and Stodamire. Even though Amare is a PF, the PF's run deep in the West. Tim Duncan, Dirk, Pau, West, Boozer.... and Aldridge.

If all three can play like they did last night... I would say all three have a shot. But all three will have to be coaches choices and that's going to be a hard decision, chosing 3 guys from one team.

Yea, I definitely think he would make it on reputation alone (he is a coaches dream), but compared to B-Roy standards of past, I think he could be playing a little bit better, but you never know, maybe his scoring will never need to be in the mid 20's if we get 20-10 nights out of the bigs on a regular basis!

As for the forwards, we know Duncan, Melo, Durant, Dirk, and Gasol are locks and you figure Nash, Kobe, and Paul will be sure fire selections as well and Amare will win the fan vote at center since Yao is out (seriously, Amare at C on the ballet? Who makes these things). There are 9 spots that got taken up quickly without mentioning Roy who should make it, so there's 10.

Non-Blazer related, but it'll be interesting to see if Deron gets snubbed again as I think it'll come down to he vs. Paul for the 3rd PG spot. Assuming one of the 2 gets chosen, it leaves only one spot and I'd had to give the nob to Bynum as he is putting up big numbers, but like Greg, needs to put the durability questions to rest.

I think LMA has an outside chance if Portland is in the top 3 of the West and putting up around 19-9 or if another player gets bitten by the injury bug.

Greg, give him one more year for the big fella to stay on the court consistently and be able to manage his fouls a little bit more consistent. The sky really is the limit for him though.

Durant isn't a lock... but deserves consideration for sure. Nash didn't make it last year. Don't think he'll make it this. Just a gut feeling. Parker made it last year, but injuries could slow him down.

I think acutally Bynum might get the vote being on the L*kers and putting up some crazy numbers on that team. Last year it was Kobe and Chris Paul with the backcourt vote.

Chauncey was in as a replacement. There is always a couple of replacements that might make room for LA. Especially with the age of those forwards, Duncan, Dirk, Gasol, Boozer all with the average age of 30.5 one of those guys will probably be injured or being rested for a play-off run.

The Western Conference is just too deep to have anyone but Brandon be voted onto the All-Star team. L.A. has put up respectful numbers but unless 2 or 3 players at the F/C position can not make the all-star game due to injury, Brandon will be the only one.

I don't wish injury on anybody, but if Greg keeps up this hot streak and Bynum either slows down or gets injured again, I really think he will make the All-Star team. He has been so enjoyable to watch this year, especially all those blocks!

I definetly think Oden has a chance with a lack of dominant big men in the Western confrence.  Of course Roy always has a legit shot.

I, unfortunately, agree with Hawes on this one. If there were a spot for none, I would have been tempted. With Durant being a third year player, Williams and Bynum becoming better, Nash having a great season again and Ariza being hot in Houston, I could easily see all Blazers on the outside looking in.

Roy has always been a coaches selection, and if he doesn't fire it up and get this team going, he could slip from the coaches minds. Either way, Oden will either play on the Sophomore team or the All-Star team as will Rudy probably be on the Sophomore team and possibly Bayless if he gets some good minutes.

Rudy got JOBBED in the dunk contest last year tearing down the curtain hiding the true wizard. It was staged from beginning to end and Rudy had no shot. It is too bad that things like that happen to good people.

I would love to see him in the three point competition where it is really hard to fix. If Webster gets it going like he has of late, we may see him dropping threes over the weekend too.

The Rookie team could be featuring Cunningham as well. There are definitely some places for Blazers to make their mark on the weekend, but I just have a hard time seeing the actual All-Star game being met by a Blazer.

On the bright side, there's still time to impress the coaches.

Our boys better start playing better or else we won't get the reputation vote from the coaches. There seems to be some turmoil going on from the inside, so this is where Roy earns his money. He needs to rally the troops and lead this team to a nice December record against tough competition. If he can up his performance and we are still top 5 in the West then he'll make it..if not..it could be an un-eventful All-Star break for us Trail Blazer fans.

Our biggest problem is not knowing how to play with a true big 3. The Lakers, Magic, and Celtics have all learned, now it is our turn. I'd like to see our big 3 get 60 points, 25 rebounds, and 15 assists out of Greg, BRoy, and LMA.

If Brandon keeps up this type of play, 29 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and Portland is still in playoff contention with all of these injuries, he is pretty close to a lock from the coaches perspective. These are the types of games that superstars have for their teams in need. They strap up, and put the team on their back. In a season full of disappointments, fair or unfair, it would be really great to see Brandon representing the team in Dallas this year in front of a national television audience.

Brandon is our ONLY hope. Greg is out, and the West still has too many power forwards in Dirk, Duncan, Gasol, and maybe even guys like David West and Carlos Boozer as well. No matter  how well he plays through the All-Star break, our record won't be seen as deserving of having 2 All-Star players. If and only IF we are still in the top 8 come February, I can see Roy getting the coaches vote if he is carrying us. Games like tonight on TNT are good ways of making a statement that you are deserving, let's see what BRoy has in store for us tonight.

Not two months. It wasn''t a major injury, X rays came back positive. I know he played because we had no one who could replace him, and that was admirable, but it simply does not take that long. When he had a good game, he said my wrist felt good....
