I live in the Seattle area, and have been following the blazers since last season. Last season was awesome, and going into this season I was expecting 57 wins, winning the division, and reching the second round. With a close one from OKC and a loss by a beat up Houston team-its still too early to worry right? I am suprised we are at 1-2 at home. Though with how NBA works we will probably still make the playoffs this year but pretty much to get beyond the first round with any hope I always want my team at least a 5 seed....so any thoughts on the early season so far?

I think it is still too early. We are 2-3. Last year we started out 2-3 and ended up 4th seed in the West.

Yeah it's too early.  The Blazers look to be having some problems but I have faith they can work it out.  At home games we fans just have to get into every game as if it was the Lakers and help the team as best we can.  Still worried about Miller but my hope is by game 20 we will not even remember the "was Miller the right person" question & things will be going well for Rip City.  But yes, it's to early to worry.

Yea it is early, but of course in some of these games the team could have played better overall but hey that's how it goes sometimes
I am a fan of the beautiful cohesiveness of my blazers, reminding me of why I've loved this franchise for much of my young life despite being a texan....

It's too early to worry about the whole season, but I think the Blazers do have some issues they need to figure out.  First of all, the players need to gel more on the offensive end.  In last night's game, as in previous ones, the team looked out of sync too often.  And when someone did get hot (like Webster hitting two big 3s) they don't keep going back to the person (unless it's Roy or Aldridge).  Also, for all the talk about defense (again), it doesn't appear the Blazers are any better at dealing with screens than they were last year.  They switch way too often, with the player getting screened getting too caught up on the screen and not fighting through.  Too often you see a small guy guarding a big (like Roy against Josh Smith) or visa versa (like Aldridge guarding Joe Johnson).

They're all fixable issues...just hope they fix them quickly.

I agree they are still trying to figure out everyones role and the injuries have definitely not helped. I'm hoping this home stretch will help and they will look better for longer stretches!

OK...you can all start to worry...maybe. I don't know if they are trying to pull a San Antonio where you coast until about February and then go on a tear leading into the playoffs or what. What's concerned me the most is that the wins don't look all that impressive and the losses look HORRIBLE. Seriously...you can't score in 12 minutes? That was brutal last night. The thing is...this is the easier part of the schedule right now...got Cleveland/LA/Boston coming up soon. I have confidence in their ability to turn it around...but something's got to change. The team doesn't look like it's having any fun...and so when I go to the games it seems like that lack of energy is rubbing off on the fans. I don't like it. WHERE HAVE YOU GONE JOEL PRYZBILLA?

My biggest concern is that the Blazers are blowing this golden opportunity to start the season. These 1st 18 games have bee against average/below-average teams and all we can show for it is 12-6, certainly not where the team would like to be right now. Honestly, we could be 18-0/17-1, but just didn't execute down the stretch in many of these games. I just hope we do not look back in April and go.."Man, if only we would have taken care of business in November!"

Also, where has the Garden magic gone? 3 home losses in November to Atlanta, who had lost 9 of 10 in Portland prior to winning, missing free throws down the stretch against a JR Smith-less Nuggets team, and the Grizz who we had beat 8 straight times.  On the plus side, we are looking much better on the road, so hopefully the Garden wins come in bunches and we can rattle off 10+ straight at home later on this season.

In response to the previous post, Joel is still here and doing his job. He is one of the best in the NBA at blocks and offensive rebounds off of the bench. I really don't blame either he or Greg for all of the points in the paint, because the guards are the ones who need to contain dribble penetration. It was the same exact problem we saw last year when Sergio would get into the game. Once they break contain, the big men must commit to the guard's man and all it takes is the extra pass and there is an easy bucket. Also, the pick and roll defense MUST improve. If there are two ways to beat the Blazers, it is to trap the ball handler out top and to run the pick and roll at will.

On the plus side, it really looks like Martell is coming around and we are going to need to feed him the ball.  Our team just hasn't clicked yet, but when we do, we will be a force. The whole aura of our team is the chemistry and how well they feed off of one another and when it isn't there 100%, we will see some offensive lapses. All we can hope for is that it all comes together soon.

Finally, is it too early too worry? Yes it is. Now, if it is the All-Star break and Portland is sitting in 6th place or so in the West or is only 5-10 games above .500, then we can start to panic, but it is still November and we haven't seen the best Blazers basketball..yet. Keep the faith!

Jermaine O''Neal, Drazen, Z-Bo, Sheed (I know he was already a star but still). Also Drazen was buried under Drexler and Porter.

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
