pathetic display of character on this guy. has to flop to change a games momentum. im pretty sick of the league not doing anything about flops. they claim to do something but its not enough. i say if you are caught faking or flopping 10 game suspension in reg season 2 game suspension in playoffs.

Complaining (Mod edit)about it won't change anything Houston was more aggressive, Portland defenders reach easy call for the refs.

Long ago the NBA started the unspoken superstar rule, sell enough product and get a free pass from foul trouble. I hope they reverse the tech on Wes but that will depend on what he said to the ref even if he was correct. LIke so many visiting players, Harden found his missing jump shot in Portland. Wes played him tough all night but he couldn't miss even when he was tossing prayers at the rim...Harden and Howard just ran the Blazers out of the building. I don't think we made one technical free throw all night. Sad because this was a winable game.

Complaining (Mod edit) about what one perceives as complaining (Mod edit) won't change anything. Harden is a flopper. Fact.

Everyone is correct, and I believe it possible meese has been misunderstood.  Harden IS a flopper and has a reputation with the league office as such.  However, to meese's point, born of frustration as a fan of this small market team...he is also considered a superstar by the league and will continue getting that treatment with both calls and swallowed whistles.

So, can we call him a flopper yet without being accused of complaining (Mod edit)?

5 grand is like a $25 parking ticket to these guys, suspensions need to be immediate and harsh, suspensions are the only way to punish these guys and get results. no team will pay them if they are always serving suspensions.

    hurray for no edit button:

if i called out of work sick but was not sick i was faking, but i picked up my pay check that same day looking healthier than ever id probably be fired. why not these guys? quit faking, cheating isnt right and it destroys the game. you dont think a player will risk 5k if it could be the game changing play in the playoffs?

Two words stacks...Players Union.  This league is not operating with a sustainable business model.  The most these players deal with physically, with regard to commonly occurring injury...is...a sprained ankle.  They have multi-year, multimillion dollar GUARANTEED contracts...securing their jobs for the foreseeable future no matter how many times they call in sick or show up for work not feeling like working.  Ironically, you and I, whom have none of the above, pay a portion of their salaries.  Cats in the NFL are playing for a percentage of this pay, without any guarantees, and leaving their brains on the field, playing on sprained ankles.

To your second point, I agree in your assertion of potential impact of a "flop", particularly in the post season.  Unfortunately, drawing a call has become the game within the game and now courses through the veins of the NBA like a cancer.  Stern has certainly left Silver with a daunting challenge.

4th violation shoots up to $30k.  I think the biggest affect will be losing the respect of the officials, and I'm ok with that.

@Stacks, the response you are responding to is a classic ad hominem attack that unfortunately continues to go on without any recourse from a Moderator.  Thus, it continues.  There is nothing inflammatory about what I am saying, and I am not attacking anyone with this post.  I am simply pointing out that the comment posted by cmeese47 is an ad hominem attack, AND it was not edited after being flagged.  That leads fans, including myself, to respond to these ad hominem attacks, when there is no response from a Moderator.  I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying that it's something that could be address and is not being addressed.

If Moderators wish to create an environment for people to come and express their individual opinions, however different they may be, they could by addressing these kind of post that accuse fellow Blazer fans who make the effort to post as "crying", "haters", "Kool-Aid drinkers", "homers", and the like.  When these post are not address by a Moderator, there is a fair assumption that trolling and ad hominem attacks are ok for some, but not for those that are targeted by these few "exceptional" individuals.

This is an ongoing problem, and I believe a prime reason why there aren't many active posters on this forum.  It's disappointing, but could be much improved. ; )
