If the name of the arena is changed from the Rose Garden to the Moda Center you will have succeeded in breaking the hearts of not only Blazer fans but the entire citizenry of Portland.  All parties responsible for this idea deserve to be tarred, feathered and run out of town.  I have been a Blazer fan from the team's inception .  I have attended he games, weathered the ups and downs  and supported the team for forty years.  But renaming the Rose Garden is the last straw.  I for one will never set foot in the "Moda Center'.  I only wish I had their insurance so I could have the pleasure of cancelling it and telling them where they can go as i did.

People in Eugene were saying all this when the aging but historical Mac Court was dropped and they built a new arena. Mac Court was the oldest basketball arena in the nation I believe but it was a glorified tin can. They got over it and so will Portland. Sometimes change is a good thing. We call it RIP CITY without that being on the logo so call it the Rose Garden if you like but eventually we'll come around to the new center. The positive to be taken from this is a partnership with a health insurance company that is local. Chris McGowan looked like a deer in the headlights when he announced the change. The entire organization is going through an almost complete makeover and in the long run it will probably be better off moving forward. At least we didn't change the name to the Pelicans.
I am a fan of A team that plays like Tower of Power on a big stage on a good night

I'd feel a lot about the name change if my season ticket price were reduced or if vendor prices were reduced

I posted that this name change would come to fruition  last month and everyone laughed at me. Foolish mortals ! Never question the cadence of CommonTongue again !!!

It such a shame about the name change, it was nice that the Blazers were the only team that had a name that meant something instead of some silly company name.

Stadium name deal = more money for the organisation to spend on improvements.  I'm from Australia, our footy ground was renamed when an insurance provider purchased the naming rights - but we still call it the original name and the new name. A Rose by any other name is still a Rose.

I am a fan of Blazers challenging for the West Title over the next few seasons..!

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
