Right? I mean don't get me wrong, I want this team to develop the players to the point that we can WIN MORE. But winning isn't the top priority for me as much as I just hope it's a natural by-product of the Blazers playing smart, beautiful basketball.

You know those commercials (think it's for DirectTV, don't really care) that go through a sequence of events? i.e. "when you get beat up, you take a karate class. When you take a karate class, you want to use your karate. When you want to use your karate, you become the Fist of Goodness. When you become the FoG, you run along rooftops. When you run along rooftops, you crash into a dinner party. DON'T crash into a dinner party."

We need one of those for Blazer Basketball; "when you play smart ball, the game is beautiful. When the game is beautiful, you score more points. When you score more points, you win games..." just gotta avoid having the "don't" part in there at the end.

I watch the local high school kids play throughout the season just to keep that "Hoosier" feeling for the game and when my son played years ago, it was more fun to watch them lose an overtime game by 1 pt than to blow out an opponent by 30 pts..winning is great but it's not the only reason to enjoy a sport. We might have missed the playoffs last season but we had some amazing efforts early in the season, coming back from 18 down with less than 5 minutes and winning! That's a beautiful thing! Imagine the Blazers with a bench that doesn't lose a lead! Wow! Now imagine a bench that builds a lead!

Blazer win percentage 2011-12: .424%. There was drama left and right, a handful of players brought morale to a grimacing low, we lost Gerald Wallace, Marcus Camby, and Coach Nate in one fell swoop. And there was no heart on that floor from anyone except the guys that knew a contract was on the line (e.g., JJ).

Blazer win percentage 2012-13: .402%. Great chemistry. The team played with vision. Many of the young prospects showed tons of promise, none more than Dame. We beat many of the best teams in the league and had amazing comeback wins. Even the losses tended to be hard-fought and filled with excitement.

That article was a nice find, 247. Thanks.

Early bets for our win percentage this year? I think we'll pass the .424% mark no problem.

Let's say... .463% (38 wins) at the very least!

Im going to say we win minimally 43 games this year. We're at least going to have ten more wins than last year with the addition of Dorrell Wright,Thomas Robinson and Robin Lopez. 46 if we ball our butts off.
I am a fan of our new roster playing with and for eachother.

I think we could potentially get to .585 (48 wins) this year with the team that's put together, but that's if everything works out like we hope. Realistically, I think we get right to .500 with 41 wins.

I am always optimistic about our seasons. I thought we can make the playoffs last season. I think if we see improvement from Damian, Batum, Leonard, AND get a big impact from McCollum we can win 46-50 wins.

Ill say 40-44 realistically because Im betting Lopez does not stay healthy the entire year.

I am a fan of standing by the team in my home town, Portland.

Health is always a factor... but speaking of Lopez, lets not forget he put up career numbers in nearly every single category this last season, plus he started ALL 82 games (I think he was one of only 3 centers to do that?)

Lopez doesn't jump high enough to have injury problems (fingers crossed, knocking on wood, throwing salt ****ing everywhere). Still, why would you even say that sedare? Like we aren't paranoid about injuries enough around here. But yes, we will probably have to go into the bench for a few games because of slight ankle sprains or tendonitis or things like that. So we still have some depth concerns at 5 unless Freeland comes back with a little more toughness and production.

Bring back Camby in the same role as Watson! Cheap 3rd string mentor for our young bigs!

Camby would be a great guy for that. He can still block some shots and get rebounds too.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
