Agrees to join our NW rival Denver. 3 years, $15million. Im happy for him. Classy guy, hard worker. If anybody deserved to get paid this year, its JJ. Best of luck JJ, we appreciated what you brought. Best of luck in your new endeavor.

I always thought he was worth between 4-6 Mil. Keeping him would have kept T-Rob from developing. As much as i like JJ, i think Robinson has a higher ceiling.

Hickson was projected to get 7-8 mil at the last trade deadline. Raptors are said to have some interest. I think he'll end up in Dallas though since they've lost out on all the big names so far.

I think, less than the money, it's great for him to get a team to invest in him for 3 years. The only thing I DON'T get about this pickup is that he's too similar to Faried and they might have problems getting them both the time they deserve. But that's their problem, and JJ is in a good place. Good deal.

Yeah, I think either Faried will be dealt, or JJ traded for a 2 guard. I don't think he signed to be a reserve. At the very least he'll come of the bench but get the same minutes as last year.

I miss you JJ. I never ever use those smiley face thingies but I will for you. :(

I don't get the signing, with Faried on the team, either, but I know that 3 years 5 mil was much more appealing than another 1 yr $4-5 mil deal in Portland.  That Denver team is a wreck.

JJ probably couldn't get a better deal. I totally forgot that Denver traded a great center in Kostas Koufus for a back up PF, Darrel Arthur.

Now JJ is with Faried, Arthur, Randolph, Mcgee, and probably Mozgov

I like Hickson as a third big, but what are they gonna do with there other quality bigs? THey need another wing now that Iggy and possibly Brewer are gone. And Gallo is out...

Denver will probably make a trade after signing JJ. Dre wants out so they might package a trade with Dre and another player.

If TRobinson doesn't work out I will be kinda upset because we could have gotten Hickson at the same price

T Rob knows that we let JJ go because we have faith in him. More importantly is that i think this kid has something to prove. As for the Denver pick up of JJ,i  think they think that JJ will be able to do for them what he did for us. I dont think so. He wont have any where near the double doubles for them as he did for us. He certainly wont be getting the minutes. Plus, Mosgov is being pursued so if they lose him,JJ moves to back up center. They traded Kosta Koufus.

Yeah we all know how Hickson does when playing center.. Rivermans right they make a trade for a wing. West is gonna be real tough this year

You know what you are getting with Hickson though. But yeah Robinson has an high upside, but JJ is only two years older than him. I think both can be quality starting Power Forwards in the league. You know what you are getting with Hickson though

@ Siccolo  I understand your thinking behind the price tag, but I think you're missing the part about it being 3 years.  Contracts are getting short because of the new CBA and as such, many players are taking less for a longer deal (more certainty).  That means in 2 years, if there is a fire sale of Blazers fleeing Portland as thier contracts are up, Portland would have $5 mil less to make magic with JJ still on board.  And JJ isn't a player you build a team around.

Agreed with Fanatic, when I first heard JJ signed for 5mill/year for 3 years, I was a little confused as to why we wouldn't have offered him the same kinda thing in place of TRob, but I think this is where the forward thinking comes in. Overall I'm pretty impressed with Olshey's moves and since TRob gives us more flexibility and a little more youth I'm gonna say he has a little more upside than JJ.

Always gonna have my #21 though. Best of luck in your new home, Hickson.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
