    Blazers Roster as of now...
    PG Lillard, McCollum, Earl Watson
    SG Matthews, Barton, Crabbe
    SF Batum, Dorell Wright, Crabbe
    PF Aldridge, T. Robinson, Freeland
    C Robin Lopez/Meyers Leonard

So, barring any trades this looks like it'll be our Portland Trail Blazers for this upcoming season (I can tell you this, our second unit already looks much better than last year). Now, we still have a $2.6m room exception, and a little under $900k under the cap I believe (unless we used that RE to pick up Watson). So any ideas, or who would you like to see in a Blazer jersey this year (either free agents that are left, or trades they should make). Don't be shy, I love playing GM. Let me know y'all.

It should be a big. Jermaine O'Neal comes to mind. The real question is , what bigs are still available for cheap ?

I would love to bring O´Neal, back... But i read that we arent pursuing him...

It seems obvious to me that our only spot left is at Center...

Possible candidates to a vet min contract (i think we will keep the Room exception to use later in the season if needed)

    E. Barron, J. Pryzbilla, R. Hollins, R. Turiaf, J.Collins ....

I like Jermaine as well. As is Joel Freeland can slide to 3rd string center if need be. We now have quite a bit of length. I'd add Jared Jeffries to the list of 3rd string centers as well if O'Neil isn't availabe. Of those you listed Nuno, probably Turiaf would be a good choice given his years of playing in France with Batum and his defensive skills.

I think Brendan Wright would be a nice pickup. As would, Joel, given that his family lives here, and he has always said he wanted to retire a Blazer, I would bring him in. I know these guys aren't coaches, but who better for Leonard to watch in practice for setting screens and being a rim protector than Pryzbilla?

Has anyone heard anything about Joel and his desires to play for the Blazers?  Everything I heard was so long ago things may have changed.

Joel's relatives and wife are from Wisconsin, he was drafted by the Bucks and has a home there. His kids grew up in Portland and he has a lot of friends here. I love Pryz but only want him here as a big man coach, not taking a roster spot. He just can't run on the NBA level anymore. I watched him early last season with the Bucks and it's sad to see him shuffling down court. Time to coach for Pryz for the reasons you want him helping young centers learn the game. Jared Jeffries, Ronny Turiaf, Jemaine O'Neil are all better options at the last roster spot than Joel.

I kind of liked the idea of Collison, but I think he would hamper McCollum's growth.  I'd settle for a big that can play some if need be for fouls, but more so can mentor.  I think Oniel would be a solid addition and figured he'd be Olshey's guy for a vet min or room exception.

Who knows what Olshey is thinking of doing. Right now I can't see another big filling up the last roster spot with having 5 bigs already. I don't think that we'll give up on Freeland after only 1 season. And I think he'll be better this year. I'm guessing right now EWill is holding the last spot. But I can't remember ever letting Babbitt go, did we? Was he an unrestricted FA?

If they waive the kid that came with Lopez, we can either reach out to O'Neal or Pryz. Although, if that pg Terrel Harris is better than Watson,we have a dillema. We certainly can accomodate any team who thinks they can play small small against us. With l.A. at the 5,Robinson at the 4,Batum or Wright at the 3,Wesley or Wright at the 2, and Dame or McCollum at the point.

Ok, just to be clear, Joel's last name is spelled PRZYBILLA. The "Z" before the "Y". Thanks!

I'm always gonna have a spot in my heart for Joel, but he absolutely should NOT be pursued for a spot on our bench. The game has passed him by, and I think he deserves to be remembered in Portland for all his production in the past, not for falling apart a few minutes a game as our 3rd string C. It would be cool to get him on staff as a big-man coach, but even for that spot, there are alot of guys out there that would be way better at the role than Joel would likely be. And like River said, his family lives in Wisconsin.

Like everyone else seems to be saying, I feel like Jermaine Oneal would be an ideal 3rd Center for our roster this year, so it is a little strange that we're not openly pursuing him, even after he expressed interest. Who knows though, maybe Olshey is pulling a sneaker.

Someone else I thought of that no one has brought up though: Marcus Camby. He was traded from the Knicks for Bargnani, and was instantly vocal about not being happy with the move. As far as I know, he still has fond views of Portland, and he was one of the best rebounders and defenders in recent history despite being underweight compared to other Centers (before Howard hit his prime, Camby was the #1 defensive C 3 out of 4 years). Plus, Camby has a great attitude about helping young players develop, much like what Earl Watson brings to our guards.

If Oneal isn't coming back to Portland, I think Marcus Camby would suit our needs and would be a huge benefit to Meyers Leonard, maybe even to Robin Lopez as well. Could we get him for what we have left? I know our cap is gone, but don't we still have our mid-level exception? Would that be enough to bring Camby back to Portland?

Also, Terrel Harris will almost surely not make our roster by the time the season starts. Just sayin.
