Dwight Howard agreed to go to Houston for a 4-year $88 million deal.

He will be working with Hakeem Olajuwon before the season to improve his post skills. There was no sign-and-trade in the deal, so he will be joining Harden and Lin. Houston management is also pursuing Josh Smith.

I imagine this will scramble the Western Conference standings a bit, especially with Iggy going to Golden State.

Do you think he'll be successful in Houston? If the Blazers crack the playoffs (as a 7th or 8th seed) and draw Houston in the first round, would you feel good or bad about that?

    Man West is getting tough!!

OKC, MEM, SAS, HOU, GSW,DEN, PELICANS, LAC, MIN, maybe Utahare all gonna be good teams this season. We need to hope Memphis, San Antonio fall of this year.

Minnesota, Denver, Pelicans are the maybes and will be the bottom half of Western playoffs.

I don't know man, I liked our moves but I think other teams made better moves. I have hope though . I think McCollum, and Robinson will surprise some people and will take our team higher than expected

I think other teams have made bigger moves, that's true. I do think other GMs are acquiring good basketball players, I would argue that Olshey is building a good basketball team.

I think Lopez might perform really well when he plays with Dame, LaMarcus, and Nic.

McCollum and Crabbe could overperform or underperform.

I think T-Rob will be getting the opportunity he never had. And he's already put up Career highs of 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. So he's shown potential.

Wright will be energy, scoring, and defense off the bench.

We missed the playoffs last year from lack of depth and lack of defense. I think Olshey has done a good enough job that this year will not look like last year.

It will probably look like this

    1. OKC

    2. HOU

    3. SAS

    4. LAC

    5. DEN

    6. GS

    7. MEM

    8. ??? this is probably the slot the Blazers could squeeze into. Minnesota will need a healthy year together to get used to what they have and may be a playoff team in 2014-15. Pelicans are later in their rebuild than we are, and I don't think Utah has done enough to get better.

Anyway, Dwight still has to be pampered like one of the Hilton kids before he starts performing to the level that he can. I'm not convinced he'll ever get back to where he was in 2009; he's taken too many years off pissing and moaning about what he wants from everyone else. I would bet money that Harden is still the best player for Houston next year.

Would be hilarious if Houston flops like LA did last year LOL small chance of that happening though

You think Denver will be that high? No Koufus, George Karl, Iguodala, Gallanari,

    MY prediction

I didn't realize they were also losing Koufos and Gallo. I would agree that they probably miss the playoffs then.

I still don't see Houston being #1 simply because Jeremy Lin is not a top-seed type PG, and they won't be able to surpass OKC with him at the helm.

And Josh Smith just agreed to a deal with Detroit, so that means Howard is the entire Houston frontcourt for now.

Yeah but Greg Smith, Terrance Jones, Montiejunas and Parsons will get some mins at the 4 so it won't be too big of an issue imo.

If Howard can get his touches and get healthy mixed with shooters like Casspi, Parsons, Harden, Garcia, Lin, Beveryly they will be good

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
