Robin Lopez will become available in a moment to clear space for the toxic offer the Pelicans just made Tyreke Evans.

I saw that too. He'd be a perfect pickup. And we wouldn't blow all of our cap space.

    Love this move!

I won't pretend to have seen any of Dame playing in college. With that said, Thomas Robinson is probably my favorite college player of the last 5 years or so. Love his story, his style of play, and his work ethic. Was real fun to watch at KU.

Hopefully he sticks here in Portland, let's all give him a warm welcome!!

    my preferences:

    1. Asik

    2. Fropez

    3. Splitter

any one of the three could be a serviceable center for a couple years while the kids develop.

Thomas Robinson, 2012 #5 Sacramento pick, traded to Houston during the season. Put up decent per minute numbers but not what people expected. My HUGE CONCERN is, despite the fact we got him so cheaply, is why did we get him so cheaply??? Also, why is this his THIRD TEAM IN TWO YEARS. Usually this indicates a maturity issue. I haven't heard of a number 5 pick being traded that much in one season. There has got to be another side to this story that we are not hearing about.

Did someone just say we are a "title contender"?? I love this team to death but any team who's giving Nolan Smith minutes ain't contending for no title.

We need another legitimate scorer, a better low post presence, some veteran leadership, and a bench that doesn't resemble the sacramento kings bench before we're talking about winning anything significant.

@ Tony Watkins, admittedly on the surface, that sounds bad but... let's have a closer look ;)  1st, u can ignore what the "Kings" did bc they DIDN'T know what they were doing (since then... we'll c IF they've smartened up ;)  Also, remember they HAD JJ?  Even though JJ's clearly an undersized 5 whose defense is poor... IF they had treated him fairly/motivated him properly, they would've gotten the production out of him that we had gotten & they wouldn't have let him go. The list goes on about Sac & their "decisions" ;p

Next we have Hou.  They gave up on T-Rob bc he had a LOT to learn b4 he could b put next to Asik & displace Patterson; w/ Sac he learned NOTHING (not his fault, he was put in a poor position to learn + bad/no opportunity)!  Also, the reason why Hou is GIVING him to us for so cheap is bc they want to make a run @ D-Bag12 so they need all the $ they can get & that means taking bak as little $ as possible + the need to open a roster spot.

So u c, no need for u 2 fear T-Rob; soon... the ONLY 1's that will live in fear, will b the OPPONENTS!!!!  Hahaha!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Withey and Robinson were in the starting frontcourt for Kansas in 2012 and they played for a championship together against Kentucky. They'll definitely spend some time on the floor together and I'm thinking it will be just like old times. :)

@RipCity14: i don't know if "love" is the correct word when if comes to Fropez, but the guy has some experience, and can defend. he's a realistic option given his relatively low price tag. besides, he went to Stanford ... he didn't graduate, but he went there. definitely something to be said for that! :)

I like the deal. Much needed reinforcements. We didn't even know if Kostas Papanikolau would make it to the NBA this season. We need immediate help, not down the road help. Especially in the paint. That's where Thomas Robinson can help us. Rebound, play defense, maybe a dunk or two. You know... things we missed seeing quite often last season.

The not so good Lopez twin (FroPez to ya'll) gets hurt too much, and has too many brain farts out there. Granted he is the size of a Tri-Met bus, but I don't know how much he could help our teams win games?

@RipCity14: milwaukie is my hood. i don't care that he went to Stanford. as for Dave's analysis, i'm not all that impressed with it. he's a decent defender and can make guys change their shots. there are definitely worse options

Jermaine O'neil is a good acquisition to help train our younger centers.  Even if we do not get any other center.

He can block shots, we know that. We accepted guys who block shots, but aren't all that in the defensive department, but Robin Lopez is a very bad rebounder. I can't get over that. Blazers were nothing great in the rebounding department last year, and that was WITH JJ and LMA. We really need someone who can block, AND rebound. That's why I'm leaning towards Dalembert.

And how many guys on this forum are actually from Portland? I know like two or three guys who aren't even from America, and a couple of regulars whoa aren't from Portland. Kassandra saying she was from Milwaukie made me remember that, (Yes I googled it and that is a place in Oregon, I thought she was spelling her hometown wrong).

I've never even been to America. I actually only liked the Blazers because I got drafted to them in 2K13. There were only two teams names I forgot, Kings and Blazers. Now I love them. Don't really like any other team, it's just Blazers ball for me.
