1st I would need to think what i want to keep, and what i consider expendable. So Lillard, Batum, Aldridge and Mathews wont go away unless we can get somethin better then what we have tradind them. Then you have Barton and Leonard, 2 average players until now, but with lots of potential, so i would want to keep them to if possible, Claver is a nice role player, and he had a some injuries and needed this season to adapt to a new way of playing, different 3pt line etc... Finally Freeland and Pavlovic, they are just not good enough and i think they are expendable. Resign anyone? Maynor maybe, Hickson? only for a sign and trade.

    2nd Define Our main Needs 1ºCenter / 2º Backup PG / 3º Backup wing SG/SF and PF.

3rd Our assets to improve the roster: 13,5M in cap, 10th pick, 3 2n rounders and K. Papanikolaou´s Rights.

4th MOVE AND GET PLAYERS NEEDED (2 ways to fill our main need and then the rest)

    A)    A) Trade the 10th along with Papanikolaou and a 2nd rounder for a Center, this would only happen after the Draft, so our picks would be 10th Player neede to trade, 39th Nate Wolters 40th James Southerland and 45th other player to trade. The centres i think we could get are Mcgee, Gortat or D. Jordan. I would go for Mcgee(but we may go for other one), he rebounds, blocks… what we neede basically. Not much cap to work with so with the reamining cap (4,5M) i would sign a backup PG, Billups woul be my choice and with the room exception sign Brewer and O´Neal.

     Final Lineup:

PG: Lillard / Billups / Wolters

    SG: Mathews / Brewer/ Barton

SF: Batum / Claver / Southerland

PF: Aldridge / O´Neal  / Freeland (waive or trade if possible)

    C: Mcgee / Leonard / O´Neal

    B) Use all our picks to get useful and cheap players. 10th Gorgui Dieng, 39th Nate Wolters 40th Boris Dubljevic and 45th James Southerland. Then Sign and experienced C, to help and teach our young bigs, Jermaine O´NeaL, Sign Jarret Jack for 6/8M, with remaining cap get Elton Brand, and Ronnie Brewer with the Room Exception

    Final Lineup:

    PG: Lillard /Jack/ Wolters

    SG: Mathews /Brewer/ Barton

SF: Batum / Claver / Southerland

PF: Aldridge / Brand / Freeland (if we waive him sign Dubljevic)

    C: Dieng / Leonard / O´Neal

why would you start dieng over leonard?

my plan would be this. waive freeland. that leaves us 14 million. sign ronnie brewer to 3 year and 1 million per year. sign corey brewer to 4 year and 4 million per year. sign o'neal to 2 year and 1 million per year. this leaves us with 7 million left. sign mills to 3 year and 1 million per year. sign brand to 3 year and 2 million per year. sign brandan wright to 4 year and 2.5 million per year. draft mccollum, southerland, wolters. trade for mccgee somehow.

    lillard/mccollum/mills

    welsey/corey brewer/barton

    batum/ronnie brewer/southerland

    aldridge/brand/o'neal

    mcgee/leonard/wright

this team is a 4-5 seed team. we got one of the best starting 5 with a bench that will not be the worst next year, maybe the best

You cant waive Freeland since he has a guaranteed contract. How do we "trade for mccgee somehow"??? Cmon Bro, you used all our cap space signing bench players. We also would not have 14 million. The cap is 58.5 million

Try and trade Aldridge for a center hibbert would be my favorite brook Lopez jokim Noah if not I think we need to take a shot at andruw Bynum or Greg oden 2 3 year deal 1 year non guaranteed / incentive based 2 year team option   If we get rid of Aldridge I'd try and get Cody seller with 10.  Or I herd magic are considering moving down offer Batum for # 2 get mclemore or trade Wes and 10 for #2   Then trade 1 2 2nd rounders and Greek guy for 1st round pick and get glen rice jr or Franklin

    Lillard / maynor

    Mclemore / fFranklin

    Batum / claver

    Brand splitter Robinson  get someone

    Hibbert / Leonard

For what Tiago can do, I would pay him a max of $6.5million/yr. for a 4 years (he's 28 right now); EVEN IF we had to pay him the $6.5/yr. we're still doin' good, any > that & we can look elsewhere; the good thing about paying him this much is that SA shouldn't b able to match that ;)

So many centers and only one position.  So many abilities for each center.  I am only glad we are not a committee making a decision on which center to go after.

My choice would be ASIk first by providing the maximum amount of additional cap space to the Houston team so they can go after D12.  If that did not work I would offer a near max deal to Pekovic to see if Minn wants to match.  Next I would offer Pavlovic's expiring contract for T-Rob.  Hoping that his current team would do the trade because he is only the third down on that teams depth chart for PFs.  They also want more cap space to make a run at either CP3 or D12.  Next I would try to trade my three second rounders for Dallas' #13 so Dallas can gain cap space so they can go after D12.  I then would draft the best players available with #10 and #13 as the best for the bench.  I would then consider trading Batum for Pekovic (above) and with the freed up cap space I would try to get Jarret Jack and JJRedick.  I then would consider combining the picks #10 and #13 If I could get high enough pick to get either Otto Porter, Ben McLemore, Vic Oladipo.  If no luck I would draft each draft pick individually.

You wouldnt do that trade Blaser?? Pekovic is an great center....will consistently give up 15+pts 8+rebounds.. You still dont know what you will get from Batum. You said yourself quality big men are much harder to find...

I think we are talking centers none of which are GREAT defenders.  They might be decent defenders but not great.  But I like the idea of a center who has an offensive game.

    M.Leonard / J.O'neal(FA)

    L.Adlridge / C.Zeller(R)

    N.Batum / S.Marion(T)

    W.Matthews / S.Muhammad(R)

    D.Lillard / E.Maynor

-Leonard: OJT, sink or swim, best way to learn is experience good or bad. If he learns we know we have our center of the future, if not we know we need to get one.

-O'neal: Can easily give us 15 minutes a game at the C or PF spot. Also mentor Leonard.

-Zeller: Work behind LA and as a rookie can provide 10 minutes a game. Eventually be LAs replacement in 4 years.

-Marion: We trade (3) 2nd round picks and Papa-Greece kid to Dallas for Marion and 13th pick. Dallas said they want to move the 13th pick only if they take Marions contract. Win for us, we need a back up SF, and Marion is a perfect fit, motivated, gym rat, and knows the offense all so well.

-Muhammad: Hopefully he is on the board at 13, instant offense, 6'11 wing span, have Marion and Wesley mentoring him teaching him how to be a professional would be good for him on the court and off.

2014 comes around, resign Marion for 2yr/4M, and we will have close to 11M to spend, We had a chance to see if Leonard is our guy, if so we can stack out depth chart, if not we have 11M to sign or trade for a defensive center.

But he has. 2 years left so if he does I think he'd keep it on the dl for blazers and go to management so his value won't get to fucked up I want to trade him for top 3 pick + a piece or to this year cause I think he'll leave and he's like 27 28 right now I really like the Thompson waiters and # 1 pick for la and Wes wed have a great lineup all young

    Lilliard / mcullum

    Mclemore.olidipo/ waiters

No matter what moves r made w/ the #10 pick (aka trade it somehow or keep it) or whatever w/ whomever, the 1 thing we should do for sure is trade or buy the #13 from Dal to get Dennis Schroeder.  I know we need a defensive big but this isn't the draft to get that guy; we'll get that guy through free agency or trade.  I don't think any centers from this draft will ever b as good as Joel is or can b; I STILL believe in Joel (he'll become the guy we need/expected him to b; he won't b our starting center but OUR Nick Collison 2.0!) so we sell off/trade all 2nd round picks (best thing to happen would b to b able to trade all these for some1's 1st round next yr.! :)

Dallas' #13 is getting a lot of attention by a number of teams.  We are in a decent position to offer all three second rounders for #13.  Not sure what Shawn Marion does to our cap space and how we execute this trade.  This might hinder our ability to get a center.

if we can trade batum (which i hope not), it should be mcgee. batum for mcgee should be it. with 11 million still in cap. we should sign parson to 4 year and 8.5 million per year. sign o'neal to 2 year and 500k per year year. with 2 million left,we should sign ronnie brewer to 3 year and 500k per year. sign brand to 2 year and 1 million per year. sign mills to 3 year and 500k per year. draft mcollum, kadji, ryan kelly.

    lillard/mccollum/mills

    welsey/brewer/barton

    parson/barton/claver

    aldridge/brand/kelly

    mcgee/leonard/kadji/o'neal

parson is a more consisting version of batum, plus he would be cheaper then batum.

Ya he could play sg but I doubt they'd do that I really think the magic would give up there # 1 overall for Batum and mabey give us something I'd like sighn and trade Hickson with Batum for ther # 1 and vuvicic er whatever his name is and that would be a pretty good trade both ways we could throw in that Greek guy pokahanis er whatever and we'd be good then trade Wes and the 3 2nds for a good sf or keep him draft mclemore and have good 2 gaurd rotation

    Lilliard maynor

    Mclemore wes

OK Reality time.  Realistically we don't need the old defined positions per se, we need roles.  We need rebounding, interior defense and a rim protector.  Could we trade JJ and number 10 for J. Noah and the number 20 pick, that makes some sense.  Pick up Dieng with the #20 pick and then draft for shooters in the later rounds.

I rather have players that will play good D then be shooters. Maynor and Claver are decent shooters. The bench wont all be in at the same time, so I think Lillard, Mayo, Batum, are good floor spreaders.

I like Chase Budinger, I think he can can take Clavers spot. If we did want another shooter I would like him.

On Draft Night I would go and get CJ McCollum or Caldwell-Pope to play some 1 and 2 while also being a primary scorer off the bench. Now with the remaining cap, I would first sign Eric Maynor to play behind Damian again. I think we should try and sign Tiago Splitter at Center, I've really liked what I've seen from him throughout the playoffs. Bring over Papanikolaou or sign someone like chase budinger to play behind Batum.

    PG- Lillard, Maynor

    SG- Matthews, Caldwell-Pope/ McCollum, Barton

    SF- Batum, Papanikolaou/ Budinger, Claver

    PF- Aldridge, Freeland

    C- Splitter, Leonard

if maynor or lillard get injure (which i don't hope for) other team pg would kill neither pg if one goes down. if we are going to sign maynor for our only back up pg we should also sign mills. we should sign splitter to 4 year and 6 million per year. sign brewer to a vet min. sign o'neal to vet min. draft mccollum, southerland, and solomon hill

    lillard/maynor/mills

    wesley/mccollum/brewer

    batum/barton/claver

    aldridge/o'neal/freeland

    splitter/leonard/o'neal

this team would have a terrific scoring option off the bench in barton, mccollum, leonard, and mills

Does anyone watch basketball on here anymore. Thiago Splitter has been terrible 3.4 rebounds per game in the playoffs. He has been getting destroyed on a nightly basis by Bosh 3 straight double doubles for a guy who only managed 1 in 12 games against Hibbert and Noah. His offense has completely disappeared getting blocked on a nightly basis in the finals. I expect more out of you guys.

Tiago Spiltter wouldnt be my first option for a center. The best way to upgrade the roster is to trade for a center. Spending 5-8 million on a mediocre center wont help. Also spending ALL our space to try a restricted center wont accomplish anything either. Its up to Olshey to find a good center and fill our other holes at the same time.

Jordan would be better than a 11 million dollar head case like McGee

Yeah but Clipps are thinking of a Bledsoe-Jordon for KG, Pierce, Doc Rivers deal... Im not a fan of that deal for the Clips. But I doubt we can do better.

Don't want Javale or DJ. You're right Cmeese, his rebounding has always been suspect, and he is fairing so horrible with Bosh because he is exclusively a post defender.

I am a fan of Raymond Felton. Haha, seriously though I'm a fan of Batum's Lobs and JJ's Slams.

I have been watching Splitter in the finals.  He is awful.  I can't even count the number of times he is standing waiting for the rebound and another comes in and takes it from him.  He is not instinctive toward where to go and how fast to be in the right position.  I also have heard that the Spurs are considering benching him because of his lack of production.  Bosh is outplaying him big time.  McGee is raw and exciting when he is tuned in but how often is he tuned in?  Not impressed with DJ either.  Maybe we should go after Gortat if someone is trying to clear space.

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

P.S. Would anybody happen to have a...

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
