I am curious where people have Nicolas Batum ranked in terms of SF's throughout the league.

I have Nicolas Batum somewhere near the middle of the pack in terms of value.

    1. Lebron James he is the unquestioned best player in the game.

    2. Kevin Durant most likely the unquestioned second best player in the game.

    3. Paul George his defense is so dominant and his contract at 3.2 million next year and then rookie max around 13.8 after elevates him over Carmelo.

    4. Carmelo Anthony the dude can flat out fill it up, but his decision making and defensive skills keep him from being on the same level as Lebron and Durant and his bloated contract has him below George in my mind.

    5. Paul Pierce the dude maybe getting up there in age but he can flat out ball still. He won't stay this high forever though.

Josh Smith Smith has been playing more PF than SF so I am not sure whether to include him or not but based on his complete game he is clearly a better player than Batum.

Andre Iguodala Iggy on the other hand has been playing more shooting guard while in Denver so he is also debatable, what is not is his top tier defense, athleticism, rebounding and passing.

Tyreke Evans is he a PG SG or SF his next team needs to figure that out and once they do I expect to see him closer to 20 5 and 5 guy he was as a rookie.

    6. Luol Deng an all star and former member of the NBA all-defense team Deng is a good two player. His contract is a little high but he has certainly proven his value to the Bulls.

    7. Rudy Gay I badly wanted to punish Gay for his huge contract but at 18 and 6 with good defense he is a borderline all-star. His numbers will also likely go up next year at the #1 option for the Raptors.

    8. Danilo Gallinari with so many options in Denver he kind of gets overlooked yet he still put up 16 and 5 last year.

    9. Nicolas Batum Is above average at everything great at nothing.

    10. Andrei Kirilenko barely loses to Batum based on age similar contract size and poor perimeter shooting.

    11. Tobias Harris looked amazing starting for the Magic but it will take a full year to make me a believer could really move up next year.

    12. Jimmy Butler like Harris thrived with a chance to start will likely play SG next year but right now he is a SF an elite defender and an upcoming talent should compete for MIP next year.

I will stop there. I have Batum around 12th on my list and he could easily get passed by a few more players with a bad season. Where do you have him and why?

I have Batum below Harris Butler Kirilenko and Kwahi Leonard. Probably won't take long before he below Otto Porter and Shabazz Muhammad as well.

the first half of the season show the real batum

    1. James

    2. Durant

    3. George

    4. Carmelo

    5. Deng

    6. Batum

that is my list, if batum play like a all-star all season next year, he will be no.4 on this list ahead of carmelo

I am a fan of Damian Lilard leading us to a title and MVP to him, LA and MEYERS

Ahead of Carmelo are you kidding (MOD EDIT; refrain from using vulgarity please)me? Melo dropped 28.7 and 6.9 Reb his PER was almost 25. He shot better from the field and from beyond the arc than Batum.
Batum at his best cannot hold Melo's jock and that is a fact. If you have Batum ahead of Melo it might be time to become a hockey fan.

yeah Batum is not close to melo, but some of these other guys that people are saying are better then batum, tobias harris, shabazz mahammad, kwahi leonard. Please, you gotta produce strong for awhile, anyone can have 1 or 2 good years. i mean tyreke's rookie year numbers were awesome, whats happened since. Alot of players have had 1 or 2 great years.kevin martin used to be a 25 point a game guy. Batum has a all around game that reminds me of a scottie pippen type,he just hasnt broken out yet, maybe he will, maybe he wont but he's still pretty good and the blazers have one of the best starting lineups in the league

When Batum is on top of his game he wreaks havoc. The problem is his inconsistency. Kawhi Leonard is phenominal.Although i attribute his quick development to Pop and his system.

Stotts would turn Tyreke loose like he does Barton. Just enough rope and yank him when he looses his mind. Cousins would thrive in our system too.

Sure he would Stotts would have him out shooting 18 foot jumpers all day sounds more like someone Josh Smith would like to play for.

Hell nah man. Barton attacks the rim more, he takes jumpers because it's something he has to work on. He isn't great at anything, so pretty much whatever he does will be bad. He is getting better though, and then you won't mind him taking jumpers, just not to often.

I am a fan of Raymond Felton. Haha, seriously though I'm a fan of Batum's Lobs and JJ's Slams.

Evans would be a nice fit here because he attacks the rim and can handle the ball making it harder to trap Lillard and get the ball out of his hands

Meese is dead on. Tyreke is a good ball handler and can get to the rim because of his strength. He doesn't have a great jumper but can still keep defenders honest from 18+ feet. And his passing is good enough to get 4-5 assists a game.

Tyreke can play both wing spots which makes him a good option because he can cover for Batum at the SF when Matthews comes into the game from the bench. If we get a good defender at the C then we could live with Evans defending the perimeter.

Yeah, Tyreke's D is nothing great, but he is solid offensively. Not a great jumper, but that can improve if he has a half decent coach. Problem is, many people will be after him, and it will certainly be expensive to get him.

Who cares if it is expensive we spent 11 million on Batum who has never once put up the numbers Evans has. If we can't find 10 million to give this guy then we certainly are not anywhere close to being serious about winning.

I don't think it will take 10 Million. Only the Mavs and Rockets have that kind of cap room anyway and neither rof them will want to spend it on Evans while CP3 and Howard (and Josh Smith) are up for grabs. We could give him 6-6,5mil and promise him the starting SG spot. I think a 3 year deal worth 8mil in year 3 would be enough to get him to come around. We need help on the wing anyway and he seems to be a good fit. He would compliment Lillard in the backcourt and would give Batum some help on the wing. And he is NOT a jump shooter. He attacks the rim and gets to the free throw line

Cailin you fail to grasp one thing, he is a restricted free agent at 6 million a year there is 0 chance Sacramento does not match. You want Evans the number has to be closer to 10 million.

If Batum wasn't on the big contract yes, but he is, and that is okay, he is a good player.

We have the cap room we need to spend it. Evans seems like a great way to use it.
