we've all been on this board for awhile, its pretty much the same people over and over who post topics and responses,we're all friends,it bothers me how people take things soo sensitivly. There's NOTHING happening in the blazer world right now, half of the topics are either"trade batum""dont trade batum" and what not. If we vere off topic as long as were not using profanity or really insulting people whats the big deal? Riverman got all upset when we mentioned french people, yet we just had a discussion about Slapping.Im the only girl here and you didnt see me tuck my tail and run,or cry about it. everyone is intitled to their own opinion weither you agree with it or not.We should be aloud to talk about anything we want,we are regular people, not sports analysts, this is not sportcenter or first take.It bugs me when were having a debate about something and other people are like "stay on topic" We can talk about batum in like 4 topics, just go there, dont wine about what were talking about its lame.talking about of topic subjects gives us all a better idea of who we are as people and why not? Cause like I said we root for a team were absolutley NOTHING is happening for our team and to be honest i feel like we are on a island away from the rest of the league. We're getting rid of a center who averaged a double double you guys, that should give you an idea of just how much our team is committed to us as fans.

@CC...with all due respect, this IS the Trailblazer site and will remain a place for members to visit to discuss all things related to said franchise.  The internet is a limitless resource and finding a place to discuss that which you'd like to discuss NOT related to our team should not be too difficult.  Please limit conversation here to the Trailblazers.

I respectivley disagree, its not like ALL the topics on here aren't basketball related.Only maybe 5% of the time people talk about other stuff, and thats just human nature in ANY conversation, things come up spontaneusly, they aren;t sought out in forums elsewhere online.Thats not to hard to understand is it. The main thing thats irritating is its really people(moderaters?) Throwing their weight around telling others how it should be. Thats fine. Anyway, what I dont get is why,why nobody is talking about danny granger? This guy was a all-star not to long ago and its like he just disapeared,I search the net trying to find out if somethings wrong,if he just cant play now and has no game. But if he's the same danny granger and the pacers just dont need him or something,he could be a valuable piece,he's only 30 and our team did inquire about him last febuary

Blazers got that Indiana jungle fever. We wanted Hibbert and now Granger. In the five games he played this year, he would have made Claver look like G.O.A.T. He is kinda injury prone, but if he is healthy, decent pickup.

yea it's a make or break off season if we don't land players to be able to contend now then aldridge is most likely gonna want out he isn't on board with olsheys 3-4 year plan

I agree with ripcity14 100% but what else is new.Nobody forces anyone to read it,and theres plenty of topics here, its more or less people wanting to throw their weight around on a message board. Anyway there must be something wrong with granger, players dont deterierate that fast normally, just last year he averaged 18 and the year before that 20. basically players have little patience i dont think Aldridge or Lillard for that matter is gonna be cool with a 4 year plan and teams dont normally take that long to rebuild anyway, look at cleveland,i mean even indiana they were terrible a few years ago and their back now.I just dont think teams can be successfull and be cheap at the same time, its not the MLB in basketball payroll has a better corelation to wins and the Hickson issue shows you were our team is at with that.

in terms of going over the cap space olshey has pretty much hinted that he's willing to do that as long as it makes us contenders if it just makes us a sub par playoff team than it'll cost him his job and hickson isn't gonna take us to the next level he plays one side of the ball really well but when it comes down to getting stops he hasn't been great @ that in the nba since day one either @ the 4 or the 5 and we need defense and bench scoring more than anything

meese i imagine you're talking about Lillard.

As for the post, some of your points are valid CC, some are not. Thats the beauty of our little Blazer corner of the world right here. Most of us have the ability to disagree without becoming disagreeable. Most of us. The reality to is, some are not in posession of that skill.

Back to ballin'.... Larkin, baller, undersized pg at 5"11, but a 44" inch vertical is not to be denied. A civilized Nate Robinson who is a damned decent shooter. Will he be around for us in the draft ? Probably not. PF's, in abundance this draft. Good news considering JJ may walk. 2 guards , again in abundance. Theres an overlooked sleeper in this draft at sg but i just cant seem to see a clear cut winner and decide on who. And its not McLemore,Shabazz or Oladipo. I think theres a hungry sg in this draft with that Damian sized chip on his shoulder thats looking to give the NBA the business for not recognizing his game. Preferably from a small school. Hey, it worked once right. I still stand by what ive been saying, pay for a big, pick a big and keep our picks. And if Aldridge doesnt like it,we'll jump off  that trade him bridge when we get there. Im just anxious to see if given time,if Olshey can bring us to Clipper like contention. The fact that he has great relationships with lots of big name agents bodes well for his and our chances at establishing a really competitive team sooner rather than later.

I am a fan of our new roster playing with and for eachother.

thats rediculous just about any legit 7 footer is an upgrade to hickson in the league @ the 5 spot.... he filled that role admirable I'll have to say but with a huge glaring hole in our defense in the paint were gonna have to upgrade that position quick even if it's a stop gap center for a season that can play some decent d....... asik is on his way out the door if houston lands d-12 gortat might be on his way out too (he's not great at one thing but is solid @ just about everything) deandre jordan is also on his way out the door in order for the clippers to resign cp3 (not the greatest c but still an upgrade to hickson) and I believe the nuggets might be willing to deal mcgee and if that fails theres always dalembert and splitter in free agency either way any of those would be an ugrade defensively I love hickson but @ 7-8 mil for a bench piece that isn't gonna doc huge minutes isn't worth it he would be much more valuable to the team if he was more of a 2 way player but he isn't and with all the holes in our team it's best that we just let him walk to free up space to improve our bench

Mcgee makes 11 million buddy, they aint trying to trade for him,and what pieces do we even have, theres a differance in signing a dude and giving up players for him, they dont even have a quation of players to make that work salary wise. Its not NBA live Blaser, and no gortat sucks, just get off the euro dudes already. But to say someone is better just cause the are 7 feet is about the dumbest thing I heard since some mark tried to say goran drajic was better then damian lillard

Remember in Batman, how they had two ferries, one with prisoners, and one with civilians, both with bombs and they each had the remote for the other? This is what is happening now. You want to trade him before he leaves. Why not just get good pieces, and compliment him.

If we could trade every Blazers for D-Wade and Dwight, and Lebron and Kobe and co, would you want that team?

I sure as hell would not. I am loyal to the franchise yes, but to the players more. I don't just want to see a flag in the rafters, I want us to win it with OUR team. Not selling our soul to get big names. And this is very possible. We already have excellent players in Damian and LMA. just need some bench. Even if we retain our starters, if our bench guys put in 5-6 points a night, we are set.

I dont know ripcity we are pretty far,far away, we got 4 starters(now) and no bench, and yeah are starters are good, but a few years of losing and lillard and Aldridge will want out and we got NO bench,i've tought long and hard about all the teams i've watched and i cant think about a bench that i've seen that was worse then what we had last year.i know we got alot of draft pics, but wow we got issues, this offseason is gonna be big,but lets be honest all the good free agents are next year so prepare for another 30 win season boys.I just love the blazers, i dont even think about championships anymore,I used too,but not anymore,i've been a blazer fan my whole life and a championship is something i've never seen and to be honest we havent even made it past the first round since year 2000,I think most teams in the league have had a better last 13 years then that

@ RipCity 14, "... [cmeese47] only care[s] that the championships are under the Blazer name, and you're willing to throw anyone under the bus to get it." & "... I am loyal to the franchise yes, but to the players more. I don't just want to see a flag in the rafters, I want us to win it with OUR team. Not selling our soul to get big names. And this is very possible..."  ALL that u said that I've quoted + the rest of these entire posts IS EXACTLY THE WAY I'VE FELT/FEEL; THIS is the reason(s) I'm @ odds w/ cmeese47; he has CLEARLY pointed out "... [until] a core... can bring [him] a title... [he] ha[s] no reason to be loyal."

@cmeese47, no loyalty to those that r here/could b here to help OUR cause during the times that we're building a championship team?  Cmeese47,  you've definitely some knowledge (I do respect & agree w/ u on some of these things; I've even agreed w/ u on some of ur opinions of the past & I'm sure I'll agree w/ u on something in the future) BUT ONLY being supportive/loyal when we win a championship... makes u a fair-weather fan; I've little respect & no loyalty for "these" types.  The only name that I'll blatantly call u is a "fair-weather fan" but I'll allude to another; when things get tough/scary... u run the other way (hmmmm... w/o saying it... it's just as blatant as typing it).

Sometimes you gotta be bad, to be good in the NBA. Look at Memphis and Golden State. Those teams really struggled for quite a few seasons. But now they're both playoff teams, which grants them the terrific opportunity to get beat on by the Spurs. It looks like a lot of fun, really does.

Nope SImpson, I am loyal always; however, I turn 30 this year and have gone my entire life without a Blazer title. If we win one with this unit something I do not believe possible or we make some super trade to get LeBron or some other stud I am not going to stop being loyal because we are now front runners.

I am also a Mariners. Eagles and A's fan so I am hardly a front runner or a fair weather fan but I sure as f#$% would love some nice weather for a change

Three critical elements to Memphis are all former Blazers.  Lionell Hollins , Zach and bayless.

Players are not loyal to fans.  They are loyal to Money and Champiosnships.

I am tired of us developing players and seeing them leave at mid career and then we see them on other teams going deep in the playoffs.

Cmeese did a great analysis of all of the bone head moves the Blazers have made and how those players are doing now.

Guaranteed if LMA goes into Free Agency, no matter how much we offer him, he is going to Dallas.  One, becuase Cuban will spend money to build a championship team and two we offer him more, he will make the same becuase of Texas Income Tax rates.  So yes I say LMA is on the able too, unless we bring in some strong talent that can get us deep into the playoffs.  So yes that means a Dwight Howard.  However  if I remeber correctly he was not a cancer in Orlando, but only in LA where his ego was battling with Kobe's.

Trade Batum and get some cheaper talent, sign either a Defensie minded center or Howard, continue to work with our younger talent like Leonard, and others and yes this means Paul Allen is going to have to pay the luxury tax and quit being Donald Sterling.

I am loyal to the Blazers no matter who they put on the floor.  I have my favorite players, but I support the team as one player cannot bring you a championship.  If we were to win a championship with the current roster, would we be cheering the Blazer Team or the player LMA for bringing us the championship.  Sounds stupid, but it makes my point.

I saw them win the Championship in 1977, I could not stand Walton, but he was a member of the team, so as much as I hated him, I supported him when he was on the Blazers becuase he was a Blazer.

I am a fan of WES, the heart and soul of the Blazers.

wow your were around in 1977,damn. I went to waltons basketball camp twice and yes he was kinda full of himself. Our team has made several bonehead trades that have cost us.Including bonehead draft pics. i love the blazers, but i've forgotten about a NBA title, seriously,I dont think about it anymore. In 2000 and 2001 I was really believing it was gonna happen. And in 1991 I basically expected it,cause we had by far the best team that year, but we are soooo far away from a title, and its been sooo long since those teams I dont even think about it. In 2009 it looked like we had a team that was gonna compete,we had the second best record in the conferance and shoulda been a #2 seed but because of a stupid rule change we were 4th and  our inexperience really showed in the playoffs. In 2010 i was also optomistic that we'd get past round 1 but we just had too many injuries. Those 2 years especially 2010 we had the 2nd best team in the west, even then a title wasnt a real expectation, i just wished our team would get past the first round and give us some playoff fun,we havent been able to watch our team make a impact in the playoffs in 13 years,Ill be a grandma by the time our team gets to the 2nd round

    Blazer

You literally just talked about us giving away players who end up going to other teams and doing better/help them win.

And then immediately after called for us to trade LA and Batum.

That almost looked like a cry for help... Like a "I won't EVER learn from the mistakes we've made in the past."

Just an FYI... Dirk Nowitzki's first and only NBA Ring came when he was 32.

The only reason I would ever see LA choosing Dallas over Portland is because Dallas' fan base absolutely has more player loyalty than Portland. The only reason LA would leave is because, for some crazy reason, only 80% of fans (on OregonLive's poll) actually would have chosen to keep Lamarcus moving forward.

I would not blame him for wanting to leave. The only player who has given his all for the last 7 years. The only player who we can say has, every year, improved his game and made strides to be better for this team and us as fans. The leader of this team.

Not that Roy Hibbert signed, so it doesn't matter much, but LA had a huge part in recruiting Hibbert to sign with us last year. I can't even imagine the team we would have today had Hibbert signed.

You guys need to learn patience. Wanting to win is a good thing. But wanting to win NOW is asking for too much, especially with the rosters we have had over the last 8 years.. Let's finally get on the right track with a good GM (we hope) that we have now.

At least give them this year to, hopefully, get a legit C, some decent bench pieces. the development of our rookies and hopefully Batum as well (who is still very, very young). Don't pull the trigger too quick.

Nic is who he is, and who we've all seen play.  He will not become something else suddenly.  He will not suddenly emerge from a phone booth wearing a cape and save the day.  Accept him as he is and how he's been, or move him and move on.  Those are the only two choices facing the front office and the fanbase of this team.

BDawg, its not uncommon for a wing to make improvements at Batums age, he wont be a different person but I would not be surprised at all to see him get just a bit better at everything hes already good at

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
