Not a fan of that roster

I would pick up a Guard and a Wing from this draft. Since everyone thinks it it's a bad draft they will be willing to give up their picks and we can get quality picks.

    Guards: KCP, McCollum, Muhammed, Franklin,

    Bigs: Dieng, Len, Adams, Withey,

Oladipo mclemore and possibly Noel is the only talent really worth while in this draft every other player will be projects or career d leaguers not impressed by CJ and I retract anything I said about getting shabazz after his poor showing in the combine and CJ is only considered a lottery pick this year due to a super weak draft class

McCollum spent 4 years in college so he is already a mature and will bring that to our locker room. He isn't just a shooter and he can and WILL take big shots. You can't teach some of the skills that he already has. If we cannot turn the 10th pick into a solid efficient defensive Center then I say we should draft McCollum. Our perimeter defence is already good so our real need is for a tough inside presence and a bench scorer. Elliot Williams has not been fit long enough to fill that role so I think it's time to move on and get a wing who could.

Mccollum had a true shooting percentage of 63% before his injury. The year before, he had a true shooting percentage of 57% and that big game in the NCAA tournament. For a guard to put up those numbers while shooting as much as he does is saying something. He shot better than 50/40/85 before his injury. Those are great shooting numbers!!!

Lillard, Batum, Matthews and Aldridge, all can take, and make big shots. That shouldn't be his selling point.

That's just one of his selling points Rip. He is more than a big shot maker. He is a genuine scorer at his position and showed in his junior year that he can add to his game and is willing to learn. He improved his passing and shooting and plays passing lanes well. I just feel he would immediately contribute while some other possible picks would not do so. They may be better naturally, but don't have the same intangibles which cannot be taught.

Our perimeter D was a issue this year. We have ok defenders in Wes and Batum so I think coaching was a reason why we gave up so many 3s. I think Nate Tibbets will help our defensive issues

If we can't move up I would draft mcw or trade down and draft and stash gobert or dieng leaning more towards gobert I think in a couple years he could look pretty solid plus he's younger then dieng and is a true 7:footer with length

I think MCW will be solid but I wouldnt pick him w/the 10

I dont like Gobert. He is not that athletic he is just long with no skill. A long, weak, less athletic version of Meyers. I Dont see how you would draft and stash Dieng when he is already in the US....??

I think KCP, McCollum, Shabazz, and Glen Rice have pretty high potential to be very good guards in the league. Dieng would be the most NBA ready player we acquire this draft. Adams has high potential too. I would love to get 2 out of this list.

If we draft a big with the 10th pick then we could trade for a late 1 round pick from Memphis or the likes and pick a guard. Some analysts are high on Glen rice jnr. but I have my doubts about his personality and discipline.

I still like the idea of trading down to the 14th or 16th pick from Utah or Boston and grabbing one of their better guards or even Chris Wilcox from Boston. We need toughness and a replacement for JJ Hickson. If we get a big from a trade we could go after MCW. His size is a real draw card and with him on the floor we could run our offense with Lillard off the ball at times.

Cailin, we already have a genuine scorer at his position in Lillard, and frankly, that will never happen again. A kid from a small school play so well in his first year, not common. CJ might have a good career, but not as soon as Damian, and we need more of a playmaker. Kendall Marshall would be great.

My guess as to what the blazers will look like next year:

    PG  Lillard/Maynor

    SG  Mathews/CJ McCollum

    PF  Lamarcus/Zeller

    SF  Batum/Barton

    C   Jefferson/Oneal/Meyers

Shabazz is slow for his position and is an extremely streaky shooter when i say streaky i mean streaky he got hot early in college then went on an extremely long slump whete hed go 1 for 6 if he hit one at all for like 16 games he's not gonna be able to beat nobody to the rim to score so the only thing he can really do is work on his shot or lean to be able to shoot in traffic I guess his potential isn't as high as I origanally thought plus his vertical isn't even average so he's most likley not gonna be a solid rebounder

well unless this franchise is content with losing l.a. then it's go big or go home time this off season on landing a legit starting c who can make us a playoff team other wise I'm pretty sure l.a. will request a trade out of town his latest interviews have pretty much hinted towards it

He said he'll stay for two more years which is how long he thinks till we are legit legit, not Houston legit. Then consider moving. I love the man, my favourite player EVER, but I can't blame the guy. He is loyal to the organization, but he'll be around 30 in a couple of years, and he needs to win a championship.

We can't allow to go for nothing. He already earns a salary that's very close to the max so not many teams would be in a position to trade for him without giving up one of their best players. I think if we improve and get to the West finals he would be happy to stay and give us a chance to win it all. But if we don't improve and we continue this "rebuild" I think he'll walk or atleast request a trade.

If we get Cousins, we will immediately be legit contenders. He is a double double threat and is a genuine post presence. That's what we need. Someone to help LA down low. Cousins may be a little bit of a head case currently but I think we could take a chance on him.

Defensively he isn't great, but he is an upgrade over Hickson and is someone we could build around with Lillard.

lillard/matthews/batum/aldridge/damarcus would be one of the best starting 5 in the west. we could sign maynor, alan anderson, randy foye, and o'neal. with the draft of mccollum, cj lesile, kenny kadji, and ryan kelly.

    lillard/mccollum/mayor

    wesley/foye/barton

    batum/cj/anderson

    aldridge/kenny/kelly

    damarcus/leonard/o'neal

we waive claver and freeland. this team would easily be in the top 5 in the west. we could have a playoff match up against GSW, it would be the best match up in the whole playoff history. damian would erupt every game since he play good at oakland, curry would also erupt. one good dream

I like that team. I think we should give Claver another year. He played well on the defensive end but struggled scoring the ball. Claver could be really good if he can develop his outside shot. He could come off the bench as a stretch 4 when we play small ball or he could be used primarily to bother opposition scorers with his length.

My real question is what would we need to give up in order to get Cousins? I highly the kings would just let him walk even though they've expressed their displeasure with him in recent times.

In order to win a championship you need a functional bench... I say we draft the best scorers that are available at our given picks (CJ or Kentavoius with 10) and look for a servicable big man in FA. And I totally agree with Demarcus, kings would ask way to much for him! Although thats not to say I'd love him on the team

I think we can get a good roster even if we cant get to trade for a Center.

1ST Draft KC Pope, James Southerland, Nate Wolters and any other player, with the last pick

2ND Use the 13,5M in cap to sign Devin Harris 5/6M, Sam Dalembert 6/7M and with the remaining cap sign Jermaine O´Neal

3rd With the Room exception sign an experienced PF like Elton Brand or Antwan Jamison.

    * We have left , K. Papanikolaou´s rights and a 2nd rounder, to either stash or trade.

Our lineup would look like this

    PG: Lillard/ Harris / Wolters

SG: Mathews / KC Pope / Barton

SF: Batum / Claver / Southerland

PF: Aldridge / Brand / Freeland

    C: Dalembert/ Leonard / O´Neal

Could you take McCollum at 10 and make him a sg mainly and after Scott's run his Eric maynor and Damian lillard have McCollum run point. Drafting McCollum would increase front court depth dramatically and it would be cheap. Then you could spend money on a good sf and center. Victor claver can stretch 4 or sign a good sf that can stretch as well.

I would like dorrel wright at the small forward position. Good defensive player than can score almost 10 ppg with a 3pt% of 37 he could cause matchup problems if Neil is able to acquire a pf and a center in free agency for the remaining space. I still think o'neal is the best option at center, he can put Meyers at the next level and give Meyers the big sophomore season. We might be able to acquire a decent pf for $4 million if that's where we are at after Eric McCollum wright and o'neal.

I dont think we need McCollum, I think it would be easier/better to resign Maynor and get a scoring option for the bench in KCP. Even if KCP proves himself and starts we can run Wes off the bench and instantly improve our bench production. Then we can draft the best pure scorers available with our other picks to help Wes in the second unit and chase a serviceable bigman in FA to help clog up the middle and crash the boards.. Instant success and back to the playoffs!!!

Well either way, it seems as if we've zeroed in on what we need in a Defensive big man and a scorer off the bench. I think Spencer Hawes would be a good pick up, but he isn't a great defender. He would make us more like the Dallas team that got 50 wins a season but couldn't do it in the postseason because they couldn't keep opponent scoring down. Mozgov has the size needed to clog the middle and is a better fit in terms of salary at this point.

If we can make a trade for Oladipo using Wes and the 10th pick we could use the extra cap space to sign Pekovic from Minny. We could use the same type of strategy as Houston to get Lin and backload the contract in year 3 or 4.

With regard to a bench scorer, McCollum and KCP would both fit the bill. I personally think CJ has the edge on KCP because he is a much better 'shooter' at this point. He can space the floor and although he isn't a great ball handler, he can bring the ball up court and run a pick and roll with LA or Leonard.

I like Pekovic and offering him a decent contract which would push Minn to make a decision match and offer something else or let him go (not likely).  I think Minn needs to know how it is on the other side of a restricted free agent deal.  Remember Batum deal.  What is Pekovic making now?

I think that Pekovic is the kind of big man we are looking for. Defensive minded, doesn't stray too far from the hoop and genuinely BIG. He is quite a presence and thats what I think we are looking for. We have a lot if offense in the rest of our starters so Pekovic although limited would compliment them well in that he doesn't need lots of sets run for him. Mozgov would be the same. Dalembert is a good defensive player, but he isn't as big as either Pekovic or Mozgov. Kosta Koufos might also be the answer here. The nuggets seem happy with a 'placeholder starter' at center and McGee coming off the bench to spark them. We could get both their other centers for cheap.

Both are defensive minded and are likely to come cheap. Wouldn't hurt our cap room too much and we could have some good competition at the position. That can only serve to help them get better and want to improve to make it their own.
