Here's what I think would make this team drastically better for next season.

This first step is tricky but I would try to move up in the draft and trade the 10th pick and Matthews so we could draft Oladipo.

Then I would sign our 6th man in Tony Allen who is only making 3.3 million this year.

Next I would sign a back-up for Lamarcus in Carl Landry who is making 4 mil.

Then I would sign Dejuan Blair who surprisingly only made 1 mil this year. He could be a big body to clog the middle and I think with more playing time he could have a career year.

The next move would be to sign Jermaine Oneal for the vet minimum. He has expressed interest in coming back to RipCity and has also said he could teach Meyers some defense. He wouldn't have to play many minutes and could be a veteran leader for this team.

This still leaves enough room to resign Maynor at around 3.5 mil.

so if we add up the new salaries we've got

    Allen-3.3

    Landry-4

    Blair-1

    Oneal-1

    Maynor-3.5

you have roughly 12.8 mil. deduct wesley's current salary of 6.9 mil. which leaves you with 5.9 in cap space minus oladipo's salary.

there are other things that can be done like a hickson sign and trade or a salary dump, Freeland's 3.5 I believe? but even without that there would still be a mil or two to take a chance on maybe Elliot Williams who I still would like to think has massive potential. I heard somebody say he doesn't miss at practice. Or you can be conservative and sign a 3rd PG. Coby Karl anyone?

The roster would look like this:

    Lillard/Maynor/Karl?

    Oladipo/Allen/Barton/Williams?

    Batum/Claver/Barton

    Aldridge/Landry/Oneal

    Blair/Leonard/Oneal

Now that I think about it Blair is listed at 6'7" which could be problematic. I've been reading from you guys that Greg Oden looks good but I would have to take a long hard look at that one. However if it actually happened I would accept it.

Anyways what do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Freeland's salary is 2.9. I meant to fact check that.

Unholy your failing to account for a few things. One Tony Allen has significantly outplayed his 3.3 million a year contract. He will get several MLE offers which starts at 5.15 million. So if you want him it will take at least that much probably more. Carl Landry has a player option if he wants to make 4 million he will just stay at Golden State. Like Allen he has out played his contract and will likely get a couple MLE offers. Dejaun Blair is not very good and is a major injury risk with his knee issues, getting him for around 2-2.5 million is a possibility but having him start would be a disaster for this team. Jermaine's vet minimum would be 1.4 million, which is feasible but I imagine a team like Miami, the Lakers, Knicks and others will be considering him which will make him tougher to sign for the minimum.

I like your enthusiasm, I need to ask where the shooters are Stotts offense is essentially perimeter jumpers and while Oladipo showed a nice stroke Allen, Claver and Barton have not, plus Oladipo is unproven from NBA range.

it lillard team now, lillard will be curry of this team. all we needs to do is get otto porter, he is the next kevin durant. all we can hope for is the ping pong ball go in our ways and we land in top 5 so we can draft otto porter. i like him because he does every thing, shoots, pass, rebound, steal and block every night. sign jack to 4 years and 7 million per year, brewer to 4 years and 1 million per year, o'neal to 2 years and 500k per year, mills same as o'neal contract, and oden to 3 years and 1 million per year. maybe trade 2 2nd round pick for thunder 12th pick since they don't need them. use that pick for dieng. waive freeland. we have about 2 million left, use that to sign maynor back

    lillard/maynor/mills

    wesley/jack/barton

    batum/brewer/claver

    aldridge/dieng/o'neal

    leonard/oden/o'neal

i know that frontcourt would be weak, but if oden turns out he player we all thought he would be when we drafted him no.1, we would be no.2 to no.5 in west. our bench would be ways better

I am a fan of Damian Lilard leading us to a title and MVP to him, LA and MEYERS

Porter will go #3 to the Cavs unless we get ahead of the Cavs we will not get Porter. Plus Porter is not Durant not even close he is more like Tayshaun Prince with Rudy Gays offensive upside.

Dion is good as well. Harrison isn't great at any one thing. He's a very good defender, a solid three point shooter, he is athletic, strong, can take it to the rack well, has a decent mid range game, and a good attitude. This collection of good to very good talent makes him a great player. True All Round player.

Otto Porter, the next Kevin Durant? No. But Unholy, I feel like we would not be that much better in the paint. Blair is much shorter than JJ.

Jeremy Lamb? I definitely think he was buried in OKC's bench, so i don't know how good he really is. I know he is amazing in 2K though.

I wanted Jeremy Lamb toooooo, but out of the people Damian could of picked he said Meyers was who he wanted at 11. And yeah he's really good in 2k.

John Henson, Moe Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, are the three most obvious better choices.

Damn... it would've been incredible if Drummond slipped to us. Our future would've been set. (except for catastrophic injuries). But the key words are would've.

    Agree with Cmeese

Nicholsan will be a solid player. Hes the new leagues Brandon Bass lol...funny Magic drafted him... He would have been a good back up to LA but would have been dumb at 11

Lamb, Harkless, Henson would have been great picks at 11

You know what is good about the draft you can usually move up and down if your willing. We could have gotten Drummond and everyone here knows it. We also could have taken Harkless, or Henson at 11 or moved back a few spots. We also could have draft Kostas P. instead of selling a pick to the Nets for a million dollars to line Allen's pocket.
