Damian lillard will probably average 20 points,he's on the Blazers so 20-22 ppg is easily attainable, hes averaging 19 his rookie year, but averaging the 10 assists,I dont know more like 7 assists. 22 and 7 would be his numbers. but you never know, nobody expected him to be this good, otherwise 5 teams wouldnt have passed on him like they did.Blaser is right few players average 20 and 10,only 7 players have done that, and Chris paul was the first to do it since 1993,which says how hard it is.Damian lillards first NBA game i believe he had 20 and 10 and was the first rookie to do that since isiah thomas who had a amazing 4 20 and 10 seasons. Theres no reason to think Lillard cant do it,Kevin johnson, tim hardaway, and chris paul have done it and why cant lillard be on par with them. But its more likely gonna be 22 and 7 i think

um, i think that pekovic or whatever his name from minny is the best choice for us for center. he won't block often but he can give you a steal and block like batum does. sign him to 4 year and 12 million per. waive freeland and sign maynor back. draft mccollum, nash, dieng. then we have a roster to make a playoff.

I think the idea of building a "perfect" team is a stretch... We have to start with the perfect culture. We already have a great blue collar work ethic in the city and easily one of the best home courts in the league.

If we bring in good high character vets to surround our young guys (we had 5 rookies on our roster this year) that would be a great start. Guys to help keep the young guys on track, especially when things get rough like on our current slide. Look at the impact Jarret Jack has had in Golden State and Derek fisher in OKC.

In addition to that, we need to look at getting a solid defensive presence in the paint. Dalembert, Gortat, Pekovic, Asik. Guys who grab rebounds and can provide weak side help on defence. Gortat is possibly the weakest defensively but he can provide rebounding and his presence on offense will make up for the loss of JJ on that end.

Zaza Pachulia and Mozgov might be good pick ups because of their size.

could get gortat and try and offer pryzbilla or chris anderson there both cheap and can play some solid d off the bench not elite or anything but good enough to use when we need to get stops

Pryzbilla would bring back some presence but he wouldn't give us any real defensive help. His size would be an upgrade at the 5 slot but I doubt he'd be much better than Hickson on the defensive end.

In terms of a possible option at off the bench, we could go after Randy Foye. He is a good bench scorer and he could be signed for about 4mil a year. He currently earns about half of that at Utah and he's a free agent at the end of this season. He could be the solution to our scoring trouble when our starting 5 leaves the floor.

I see Foye as a possible mentor to CJ McCollum when he arrives via the draft... Foye can shoot the 3 and is quite adept at at the free throw line. He can play as a starter as shown this year in Utah and he shot 40% from the 3pt line this year. He could also guard the opposition point guards and give some relief to Lillard and Maynor.

Honestly of all these guys that keep getting mentioned, pekovic is the only one that'd be worth it,and a upgrade, everyone else is a downgrade except maybe, maybe dalembert. But everyone else is a downgrade Gortat, asik, mozgov, MOZGOV really? it seems like everyone is in love with the big ugly euro guys. these guys are disgusting looking, horrible back hair, and they arent very good players either. pekovic is ugly as hell, but at least he can ball,he's just not a player minnesota is gonna let go,we might have a better chance at kevin love then him to be honest

Asik is an major upgrade over JJ. He is a better rebounder than JJ, he is a much better defender, he is a better shot blocker, and he is pretty similar to what JJ provides offensively.

I said pretty similar to what he provides, which for JJ is mostly put backs off rebounds and throwing down dunks. Sure he has a little mid range jumper but it really is not that great I think some where around 45%.

I like the Batum for Butler and Gibson trade since I mentioned it awhile ago. I am wondering how you plan to get Iman Shumpert or Avery Bradley? Also even though I also recommended Gortat I am not that excited about the prospect of having him on my team. I would like to see if we could deal LA for a dominant defensive big man like Marc Gasol.

Asik has been a good defensive player for the past 2 years. But the rockets still give up 100 points a game!!! He is not the answer to our problems!!

Teams like the Magic during the Howard days were good because they had a solid help defender and shot blocker. They didn't have great perimeter defence. We have a good defender in Batum and an even better one in Wes. Lillard has the size at the PG position to bother any other PG in the league. We need a good post defender to help us take on the big front lines in the West. I wouldn't mind going after Perkins if that meant we had more presence inside. But Asik and Hickson are not the answer...

We probably could afford to price Minny out of matching a deal for Pekovic.

Asik is not the reason Houston gave up a 100 per game. Pace had a lot to do with that as Houston pushed the pace a lot. Plus Lin, Parsons and whoever the Rockets decided to play that night at PF were not good defenders. With Harden and Asik the only one really play good man defense and the Rockets looking to force turnovers and run it is no wonder they gave up 100 a game.

I dont know, one good year doesnt always mean the guy is good, soo many times a guy has gone off in a year and got a huge contract. Tim thomas and Radmonivic I think his name was, those 2 dudes has awesome years in 2005-06 and got big contracts form the lakers and clippers respectivley and did nothing afterward. Elton brands contract in philly was huge and he had several good years, its hard sometimes you sign a guy and he feels like he's made it. You never know whats inside a players head

i think it will be good to stay out of free agency bid wars, to get a legit center.... It will allow us to get some pieces to our bench.

Something that can also be used in the trade for the center along with picks/player/money, are the rights to Kostas Papanikolaou, since this years draft isnt very good, it would be safer to get a player like him, he is playing as pro in europe for 3/4 years, and he would be a very useful player to the bench of most teams...

RipCity, i think Barton could become a very useful player next season, if he continues developing, and adds a few pounds...

Olshey has pretty much said the picks will be used to acquire a veteran legitimate defensive center and we'll probably draft at the deadline for another team to facilitate the deal so evaluating more rookies for next season will probably just be a waste of time at this point. He's going to Europe soon to evaluate players as well. Trades are going to happen. If we have a rookie next season it'll probably be Kostas from Greece and he's predicted to be a quality bench player in the NBA.

Yeah, just saw that we got the 10th. Don't forget that we got Elliot Williams back next season. We could go for a great defender in the backcourt. Oladipo maybe. With the 10th it is achievable, but we need to trade away the pick to get an established defensive centre. I think we should go for a centre. Nic is a decent defender and Wes is great already and they will both improve more.

If we could get Oladipo it would be a great pick up! He has the strength and athleticism needed to guard the 2 guard spots and even some of the leagues smaller forwards. He added decent range to his offensive game too this year and his maturity (again) will be good in our young locker room.

As for adding a legit C this offseason I'm sure we could go after Deandre Jordan from the Clippers. He was apparently unhappy with Chris Paul and Billups so he may be a guy who we can go after. The Clips will also be in a bidding war over Paul and I see that eating into more of their cap room. Jordan is a 7 footer who can run the floor and gives great help defense. If we trade ouri 10th pick, THAT is the guy we should get!!!!

I doubt he will end up one one too often. I don't see many other Centers running Iso situations. If he is a good pick and roll defender it will be more important than his one on one ability. He does have the length to bother opposition players who run pick and roll offense and can bother and change shots.

With Jordan as a rim protector and Lillard, Wes and Batum guarding the perimeter, we'd have an excellent defensive work force in our starting 5. And Jordan and Batum are both good enough to run the floor on defense and offense.

i would love to have deandre jordan, hopefully our pick goes to 8th -10 pick trade that pick with couple other player and cash, then we get him. he perfect for our team, he is big and aggressive on defense. he block 2 shot every game, rebound tough and steal the ball. imagine a perimeter defense in lillard, welsey, batum and a block machine in aldridge and jordan. we easily be a 3-5 seed in west. barton dunk off the bench and leonard shoot 100% 3 pointer off the bench and claver all-around game. bring maynor back. we easily become the clipper. please payton teach lillard the man defense and the right way

If we get Jordan, it will be a huge step in the right direction. If we let go of Freeland and Hickson it will free up some cap room. Bring back Maynor and draft on or 2 bigs with our 2 round picks. The 10th pick plus Freeland and cash should be enough to get him.

We could even throw Pavlovic's expiring contract in there too. The Clips could waive him and then they would have more cap room to keep CP3.

I also mentioned going after Randy Foye before. His 3pt shooting off the bench would be a great addition to our anaemic bench. When Wes goes to the bench he could continue to provide offense. I doubt the Jazz will sign him again so I think a good offer of about 4mill could get him.

It's all about next season, we didn't make the playoffs, the luxury tax kicks in this summer and teams will scramble to dump salary. I think sometimes fans underestimate Paul Allen and Neil Olshey. They have the big picture and a lot of scenarios regarding cap space and possibilities. To Meyers Leonard's credit, he's 20 with one real year of college ball behind him and 1 year of NBA experience. It's unfair to compare Leonard to what Damian Lillard accomplished as a rookie. Leonard was better than Marc Gasol when Gasol was a rookie. We drafted the kid with the idea it would be 2 years before he got it. He'll get it. He's a third string center forced to play as a 2nd string and sometimes as a starter. He definitely was thrown in the fire against really good centers. Leonard was also a guard before college. Look at the positives, he is a great freethrow shooter and may be the fastest 7'1 player in the league. Defense is a glaring weakness across the board and I'm confident they'll work on it offseason.

I wouldnt be surprised if Blazers actually drafted another center with the 10th pick and traded Leonard. Low chances of that happening, but better center prospects this draft.

I do agree that Neil Olshey will have a monster offseason!

Yeah, but no good centres. I don't like Cody Zeller. This is a relatively weak draft. I think JJ Redick would be nice but we need to give him decent minutes. His production dropped when he got traded to the bucks this year. Javale? Good Defender, Great dunker. I can live with Shaqtin every once in a while because of his upside.
