To me I said this on a couple of threads is if this team is willing to play with better effort on defense and just better effort period, one example is they need to stop playing to their competition elite team don't do that elite team make team play to their level and that's what separates them from everyone else. I think next years team will give us a better look on what direction this team is going is this team willing to let Kaleb go or do something else and get a real defensive coach who will challenge this team to get after it, what players are we going to get to help fill the things we lack and the most important the development of our rooks they are one of the most important keys to determine if we are gonna go up or stay as a lottery bound team and also the growth of coach Stotts because the great ones always find ways to get better and find ways to adjust to the teams they have if he's wiling to do that this team should grow the right way and we will get to where we want to be, definitely thing has to fall into place and with our history of things going right I don't blame fans if they are not optimistic all I can do is stay loyal and support the people that we have in the organization and hope they have the passion to make this team better.

We are a lousy defensive team and Stotts is not a defensive coach.  Since we never play well on the road this team will be constantly playing as a 6-8 seed. That means playing on the road so while we can potentially score an upset this team will falter until a change in attitude is seen.

Say what you want about Nate McMillan, he was a good defensive coach. Think Stotts is offensively inclined, and nothing wrong with that. Just need a good assistant.

I'm optimistic but as you all know, I think we need a new defensive coordinator. I like Stotts. Doc Rivers won his last championship with Thibs on the bench coaching the defense. Kaleb is just not impressing me nor is Kim Hughes. To get out of the 1st round we need a quality 6 man, defensive rebounding big guy and defensive wing. As much as I like Damian, he's a terrible defensive guard this season. He needs work as well. The West is tough and you need a deep team to have a deep playoff run. I think next season we might get there. Gary Payton said he'd work with Damian in the offseason and that should translate to a better player next season. Time will tell but I think Portland can build a championship caliber squad here.

He's 20, did you expect him to start already? Not to mention you just said this after he had his best game of the year and a great game on any players status. Just needs to work on better defensive positioning

Even if he has done nothing you never waive a 20yr old 7'0 Center that was the 11th pick in the draft. That is just idiotic.

Naming another center in the league as young, healthy, and as athletic at 7' is no small task. Factor in the incredible upside, and you have a Blazer who can begin home shopping here locally any time.

Lol well thats up in the air,my man. But really to be honest, leonard is alot of upside and i think will be good, but I dont necissarily know that he's gonna be more then a career backup,I'd be happy if he became as good as Joel prizybilla in his career.lets not get crazy, big white guys rarely emerge as forces in this league but as far as waiving him like some dude said, thats crazy. he's shown flashes of brilliance this year

Agreed, you won't find many centres with such a soft touch around the basket who still can slam it down on your face.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
