i mean that dalembert would get 4.5 million per year and that blair would get 4 million dollars per year. i know that moreland is not in any mock draft, but he just declared so it might be a while until everyone realizes this. he is a very talented defense player. he like to do chase down block like batum does. um, but his offense game is still developing. i would rather put him in the sf role because of his lack of strength

Myers Leonard is only 21 years old and it was just a few years ago he was playing in high school. Its his first year in the NBA and he is showing a lot of progress already, just imagine him at 24 or 25 years old! Another thing to look at, look at how much progress he made going from his first year in college and his second year. You can't deny that he is working hard for Portland and he is well on his way to becoming a name in the NBA.

i know that but we need a defense center, dalembert is a perfect mentor. we should also  sign babbitt to a 2 year and  475k per year to give us a late game 3 pointer. sign joel pryzbilla to a 2 year and 500k per year to streanthen our defense need. maybe sign will bynum to a 3 year and 3 million to help our depth in pg position just case one of our guard is injure. waive barton as he seem a bust. trade nash for 1.5 million dollars cash to reduce our cap space.

    lillard/maynor/bynum

    wesley/mccollum

    batum/claver/moreland

    aldridge/blair/kelly

    dalembert/leonard/pryzbilla

this team is a dream team for the blazers. basically if any one of our position player go down we have a perfect back up for him. this team is just right, epecially when legendary gary payton train lillard on his defense this summer.

at ripcity 14. you don't even know gary payton. he was one of the best defenders of all-time. he was the only player that is capable to guard michael jordan. he was that good. i forgot about coby karl. yeah let do that way instead of signing bynum

@DamianLillard, Yeah I know. That's why I'm drooling. Just the thought of Lillard playing defence half as good as GP is amazing.

I think that if we give Leonard enough time he could be a really good center as he showed in the past few games while LA was out. But he needs to improve dramatically on the defensive end if he wants be the starting Center... Taking Dalembert as a FA will help because of his veteran status and the fact that Dalembert is a defensive minded center appeals to me because we really need help inside. (We've given up the most points in the paint this season)

With good perimeter defenders like Nic and Wes we need better help defense and a good center will provide that.

5-6mil a year is quite good considering the market for defensive minded players let alone centers. I think we might have missed a trick not aggressively pursuing Andre Drummond last year as his numbers show when he gets the minutes he deserves.

Coming to the draft, its well noted that this years draft pool is not quite as deep as previous years and that's down to the fact that so few players spend more than a season in college to refine their games and develop the maturity required to be a pro athlete these days. I think we need a back up shooting guard who could help run our bench unit with Maynor at the point. Cj McCollum looks like the consensus pick for most Blazer fans.

    1st round pick- cj mccollum

2nd round- russ smith and james southland

waive freeland, that leaves us 14-16 million for FA

sign jj reddick for 4 year and 7 million per year

sign jermaine o'neal for 3 year and 4 million per year

sign dalembert to 4 year and 5 million per year.

    lillard/mccollum/smith

    wesley/reddick/barton

    batum/southland/claver

    aldridge/o'neal/claver

    dalembert/leonard

this team have scoring punch off the bench and we sign two defense big man and if one goes down we will always have other one. this team is easily 3-6 seed in the west. freeland contract is big so we can waive him for a better future

I think it's early to trust and Meyers Leonard for starting lineup. We might sign with Hickson for 2 years contract or maybe Pekovic. Maynor-Leonard-Claver, one rookie and ona good FA would be great for this team. Line up is already perfect.

I would love to see JJ stay and play the position hemeant to play but I dont think there is any way he will stay in portland, I think its time to let batum go, he has shown time and again how inconsistant he can be, how can you win a game 4 against 5, he has been pretty much absent sense his injury but we keep putting him in instead of letting Clever get out there and improve the impressive work he has been doing!. I think Meyers is doing great for being our only real center but he is still a rookie and needs someone to show him the ropes in the NBA. he gets pushed around too much and needs to be stronger on keeping them out of the paint! I love his hustle but I wish he would get in there and take those rebounds away like he should. I think it was a mistake to just play our starting 5 the first half of the season and I think its unfair to expect them to just be thrown in now and see any improvement. You gotta play to learn how to play in the NBA!. I would love to see babbit and smith traded away this year and get some guys that can make a differance when they are put in and I really wish we would stop relying on the 3 point shot, when these guys take it in the paint they are doing good but then they just go back to no defence and mediocre offence and continue to dig their holes. So sad to see

I am a fan of the NBA fining referee's for obvious stupid calls and HARD AGRESSIVE DEFENCE FROM START TO FINISH NOT WAITING TO DIG A 10-30 POINT HOLE

I'm sorry but claver hasn't been impressive either 3 turnovers in this mavs game already and were barely through 2 quarters to go along with his 9 points in 27 minutes outing last game honestly 3 good games isn't impressive

@Blaser...You're spot on.  To say any of Portland's reserves, save Leonard and Maynor are any better than the next is splitting hairs.  Let's keep it real.  There are four 12th men on this team.  May be harsh, but straight garbage.

Babbitt is rubbish at anything which doesn't involve him shooting the corner 3. I think if we want improvement in the front court we need to go after a defensive big or a back up PF like Mason Plumlee. He averaged a double double this year and he spend 3 years in college so his maturity will count for a lot. Getting CJ McCollum would be great, but we need more guys to do the work inside. Attacking the rim, getting to the free throw line. We've become a lot like Golden state a few years ago with great talent but poor decision making. Too many jump shots has hurt us during this slide we're on.

We need help inside and I think that Dalembert is maybe the best answer there

Last night against the Lakers, our need for a good rim protector was somewhat highlighted. We played well when we had a smaller line-up and I'll admit, Babbitt's ability to stretch the floor came in handy against the aged Laker squad.

Perhaps that's the way to go in some games. We need a good stretch 4 who can also defend a little in the post while LA slides over to the 5. It helps us on offense because LA is a good rebounder at that end. But when the game gets ugly and we need shot blocking in the 4th quarter, a good defensive center is needed. I've seen Gortat mentioned a number of times recently. His ability to play the pick and roll and his desire to prove his worth could be just what we need out in Rip City. He could push us over the edge and get us back into the playoffs.

I read earlier this year that LA would also like to play alongside someone BIG. Gortat isn't huge, but at 6'11 he could allow LA to play beyond the post and continue to evolve his offensive game.
