well everybody knows what this team needs C, backup PF and backup SG . so with that said we need to build around our core players batum, lillard, and L-Train.

well from what ive heard these players wont be coming back smith, babbit, jeffries, palovic, and williams. but id keep williams sign him too a small contract because you never know how good he could be until he comes back from injury.

so other players still we have to think about matthews, lenoard, barton, freeland, clavor. out of all of thoses players id keep matthews lenoard, clavor and barton great role players. id find a way to trade freeland cuz i dont think hes a fit long term too this team.

so there our some good options out there for back ups.

SG- i try too sign tony allen back up SG could start and bring matthews off the bench brings good D and championship experience.

C- kaman, mozgov, sanders, dalembert, jordan(clippers) jefferson, pekovic(restricted)

so out of all centers i feel like the most realistic option is mozgov or pekovic or kaman who will all be free agents after this year.

PF- blair, hickson, i feel like either of thoses guys would be good back up too LA but i dont know if hickson will take less money too be a backup.

    PG - Maynor, (draft)

so with all that being said this is how i expect our team too look next year.

    PG- Lillard/Maynor/FA

    SG- Allen/matthews/barton/williams

    SF- Batum/clavor/FA/Rookie

    PF- LA/Blair/FA,Rookie

    C- Pekovic/Lenoard/FA,

this is what i think the blazers should look like next year throw in acouple draft picks and Free Agents and this team can be a contender. prolly gonna have too offer the max to pek too get him away from the T wolves can prolly get maynor, allen and blair at a pretty good price. so what you think blazernation ?

Signing Elliot Williams, will depend on his recovery, and i think it may not be good option... injuries are the main reason.

Tony Allen woud be good, but either he stays in Memphis or he goes to a contender...

T Wolves will match almost any offer to Pekovic... So we would have to overpay

    D. Blair may be a nice option, but only if Hickson leaves...

I´m a  bit tired of discussing this kind of threads, BEcause most of our moves will depend on Hickson and we dont know what Olshey will do, so if we sign Hickson we will have less money, to target 2 or 3 good players (1 or 2 SG/SF 1off and another Def, and also a experienced and defensive minded C)to complete our bench and 1 or 2 more to fill the roster. If we let him go, we will have much more money, and would need to add an extra PF to those i said. So the way i see it, its just pointless to make a thread like this every week, there are already lots of this threads...

PS: You cant forget that roster max is 15 and cap limits, if you

Nuno I disagree we know exactly what Olshey will do and bringing back JJ is not going to be a part of it

If the Blazers don't resign JJ, they should try and get Andy Varejao. But first option is keep JJ. (Varejao is 30 and injured.)

I am a fan of Raymond Felton. Haha, seriously though I'm a fan of Batum's Lobs and JJ's Slams.

Larry Sanders would be nice, but the Bucks will hoard the heck (Mod Edit; please refrain from using profanity)out of him. But his stock has gone up and with Ellis' and Jennings' contract, they might have to let him go when his contract's up. What I would give for a healthy Oden. Dalembert would be nice. Garnett and Amir Johnson would be okay. I think the best would be Tristan Thompson.

Another good idea, is Eric Maynor, for Eric Bledsoe. I LOVE Bledsoe. He essentially gets one block in 21 minutes, and 1.5 steals. Did I mentions he's 6"1. That's even better than Lamarcus and JJ. Good scorer, and while he's not really a three point shooter, he's shooting 43% on 26 made threes this year.

bledsoe isn't bad but we'd lose a great distributer off that bench..... larry sanders would be great though he has some strong defense plays solid @ the 5 even though he's better @ the 4 dalembert would be great off the bench for defense

I think the Clipper might if they get someone else as well, or a three way deal. Half the suggestions for trades here aren't going to happen and are just wishful thinking (always fun) but that might happen. What we really need is one of the Grizzlies. Best defenders in the league. Tony Allen, Mike Conley Jr. Jerryd Bayless isn't as great a defender but have you seen how he's been playing lately?

I mean Bledsoe and Larry together would be amazing, but the Clipps would be dumb to let him go and the same goes for the Bucks.

i have the greatest idea ever. why don't we draft shabazz muhammad. he suppose to be the next james harden. i hope our pick inthe top12. he would make our bench scary for year to come. in the 2nd round, we can draft lebryan nash to back up batum, and matthews, he can score and defend. and we should also draft kenny kadji, he have a great defense skill to play alongside both LA and Meyers. in the free agent, we should go after samuel dalembert to teach kenny and meyers some defense move and how to block. we should get him easily for 3 year and 3 million per year. we should retain maynor. we should sign hickson for 4 year and 5.75 million per year. this should leave us around 1 million, we should save that money unless we want to sign williams back. our line up is the same for starting 5 but best then ever bench player would help us reduce mins. to super star damian lillard.

    PG-Lillard/Maynor

    SG-Matthews/Shabazz/Williams

    SF-Batum/Nash/Claver

    PF-Aldridge/Dalembert/Kadji

    C-Hickson/Meyers/Kadji

i hope our coach would play maynor for 20 mins that include 15 mins rest every game. our bench would be the OKC 2011-2012 VERSION WITH JAMES HARDEN ON TEAM. COME ON THIS TEAM WOULD EASILY AND NO DOUBT WIN TITLES WITH YEAR TO COME

I am a fan of Damian Lilard leading us to a title and MVP to him, LA and MEYERS

If we were in a fantasy game maybe...

    But lets get real...

We dont need a bunch off new young players, we already have 5 rookies! and all guaranteed for next season... by the way, what happened to Barton and Freeland? they magically disappear along with 4M that they have guaranteed for next season?

And even if we have the 1st round pick, do you really think Shabbaz wouldnt be picked before our pick? He is projected as top8 pick...

E Will is often injured, so i think it isnt really a good option...

Then there is Hickson that will demand for sure something around 8-10M a year...

And Dalembert, that is a Center, will also demand much more then 3M a year, maybe 5-6M at least...

Finally i think it would be very very very hard, if not impossible, to aim for a title with only a couple of experienced players (Aldridge and Dalembert)...

That team is no where near a title. There are two players at the top of the draft Portland would be wise to take- Victor Oladipo and Shabazz Muhammad. Oladipo is an awesome defender and could make Matthews expendable, while Muhammad would be better suited in a 6th man bench scorer role right away.  Neither should last til #12 so moving up would be smart just not sure what that price might be.

In the second round if Tony Mitchell is still there then he must be acquired.

We need defensive players first and foremost

We need young talent because we don't have the money to sign veteran talent and even if we do have this veteran talent it would only be for a couple years. We need a growing nucleus just as the spurs did, retaining Timmy, Tony, and Manu. We need just one more young piece (because you're right we are extremely young) for the future and then sign veterans. No disrespect to Will and Joel, but they're are better options and Meyers and Victor will only be role players in the future in my opinion. We need one more key piece off the bench that can grow with our team. We have a talented team, but I think it is important to have two elite guards or forwards. Damian is one and I think we all hoped it would've been Nic to be the other one. But we need that punch off the bench and I think the best option is through the draft for financial reasons.

That''s why I don''t like him, Melo, and Kobe.
