OK, I like how Meyers is developing, however I am concerned unless we get a Solid Big Man Coach, such as Hakeem Olajuwon, Bob Lanier, or a Patrick Ewing type that he will never develop into a strong defensive Center.  Yes is offensive game is developing nicely, but he needs to learn how to play defense aggressively without fouling.   Right now our Center coach is Kim Hughes whose career was in the ABA and two seasons with Denver after they came out of the ABA.  I am struggling with understanding his qualifications as a Big Man Coach?

    You’re Thoughts?

That is great.  I am talking about seasoned hard core Professional Big Men who know the tricks of the trade and have had the quality experience that they can share with him

idk honestly though ewing would be great same with hakeem but there amongst the few successful former star players that had success with coaching most stars don't usually translate into great coaches theres more former nba role players that are incredible coaches then former stars

Kobe, LeBron, Amare and several other players hired Alajuwon offseason to work on their post games with great results. Hakeem is known as one of the best big man mentors in the world and he's not cheap. I'd like to see Paul Allen spend some money on bringing him in to work offseason with all our bigs, Meyers, JJ, LA and even Nic..Hakeem teaches position, foot work, etc.. money well spent. He doesn't need to be on the bench. I've questioned Kim Hughes all season until the last 3 games where I thought, maybe Leonard is finally getting it. I'll give him some credit at this point. Next season I'd like to see Bill Laimbeer on the bench as assistant though.

I think Hakeem as a full-time Position Consultant and Lambier as an Assistant.  Between Hakeem's fundamental teaching and Lambier's teaching of how to get away with playing dirty it would be great.  (Just kidding about Lambier).

L.A. & Leonard should seek out Hakeem in the off season. Ewing ive always said should have been hired to coach our bigs. Ace in the hole would be The Vanilla Gorilla. He could teach Meyers the toughness tactics that made him such a beloved Blazer. He always set hard picks and dove to the basket.

I think we are all forgetting one thing...everyone wants to work with those guys. What's the chances that we will be able to get someone like a hakeem or Ewing to mentor Leonard or even LA? It's a good thought but if everyone got their wish to learn the tricks of the trade from those guys then they would never sleep. Also, I don't think playing credentials are MUST HAVE when it comes to coaching.

How about we just let him play? He' s showing a lot of growth over these past few games and I'd like to see if he continues to improve given more time. The after the season we can talk about big man coaches. But, I think he's farther away defensively than he is offensively. I'd wait until he's had at least a couple of seasons under his belt before sending him to Dream's camp. That would be like skipping from Algebra to Calculus; you gotta work your way up to that level first.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
