    Scott Howard-Cooper wrote this eve that Portland is involved in talks and may make a move by deadline but it would be a small move to improve the bench and not involve core players.

    Let's hope Olshey is able to lock it down.  My biggest concern the remainder of this season is finding a back-up for Lillard that Stotts trusts enough to allow the kid to sit a little.  Last thing this franchise needs moving forward is Dame going down with a serious injury.

    We have two back up point guards, if only Stotts let them play more, we aren't making the playoffs so who cares if they play.

    I hate saying things like this, and people will always say root for your team no matter what, but there's no doubt this team needs to lose in bunches the rest of the way. We're falling further out of the playoff seeding, and even if we snuck in 8th, it would only set up a first round demolition. Not only that, but we really need our first round pick this year. We're still a couple of pieces away from contending, and to lose our pick this year would be a step backwards (or at least a delayed step) in our rebuild. It's absolutely crucial we end up keeping our pick, so we need top 12.

    Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports the Blazers and Thunder are talking about Eric Maynor.

    Yahoo's Marc Spears is reporting the deal is done.
     Thunder has traded reserve point guard Eric Maynor to Blazers, a source told Y! Sports.

    Love the deal. Maintained flexibility while getting a cheap insurance policy for Damian, the future of this franchise beyond THIS YEAR. What did we give up? The household name...Giorgio Printezi...and a trade exception. Well done Olshey.

    I"ve wanted this guy on the team for a long time. Getting him for a trade exception and rights to Printezis was brilliant. Anyone who thinks Neil Olshey has dropped the ball can think again. Great move for the team!

    That's awesome, so funny how so many of us in previous threads have said Eric Maynor, Eric Maynor, target Eric Maynor. And we did and I am pleased. Didn't think we would make it happen. But maybe I am a fool for ever believing there wasn't progress being made.

    Then again, we better hope this is legit! Lol

    Rob Mahoney of Sports Illustrated says that Maynor is now our best player coming off the bench. Thoughts?

    Nice call.  Looks like Olshey still likes Williams backing up the SG spot.  Redick is gone, and I don't like me some expensive Monte Ellis.

    Who was not saying that?  That would be like a doctor saying rest is the best thing to recover from a strained muscle.
