Half a season under the belt and Victor Claver is a solid rotation player. Will Barton is cracking the rotation regularly. Seems like Freelands hand is healed and he's found his shot. Jeffries is the role playing defender in the paint who sets screens and Sasha has a weird foot problem. Nolan had two games with a spark and Luke has been slumping under pressure. Ronnie is hurt. Nolan Luke and Elliot are expiring contracts. Meyers is not ready for a big role yet. Who do want to see on the team next season that's currently on the roster. So far I like Claver, Barton and Leonard to stick around for sure with Pavlovic, Jeffries and Freeland right behind them.

Keep Leonard, Claver, Freeland, Barton and Jeffries as a Defensive specialist, Ronnie "Jump Passing" Price can go, Nolan and Babbit time is up they are D-League for life if they don't improve, If we can't upgrade the 2 I wouldn't mind bring back Sasha and with Elliot I know the upside is there but, it seem he's injury prone he a player who just relies on his athleticism and those players are more likely to get injured more than others I'm on the fence with him I would give him one last shot and that's it I'm just tired of having a roster spot wasted on someone whose injured all the time I really hope for him that this is his last major injury because most likely this will be his last chance.

I agree with riverman on that list and @carl the only chance i'd give e will is a one year contract and if he can't stay healthy and be productive then it really won't hurt the team long term cause his contract would expire after next season

i´M almost on the same page as you people...

    I would keep

Lillard, maybe Price, as 3rd string

    Mathews and Barton

    Batum and Claver

    Aldridge and Freeland

and add to them  backup´S PG, SG and PF/C(basically a substitute to JJ) and a Starting Center...

So L. Babbit, E. Williams, N. Smith, S. Pavlovic, J. Jeffries and Hickon(trying to get something with  him) would leave...

I'd try hard to trade Hickson (sadly).  Lillard and LMA are the only players who are off the table.  Any trade involving a starter must net a starting Center.  Babbitt and Smith must go no matter what.  Everything else is on the table.

LA, Wes, Lillard, Batum... untouchable, unless a crazy good trade comes out of nowhere that is too good to refuse.  Highly unlikely that would happen, but I'm leaving myself a margin of error.

    Lillard, Price*

    Matthews, Barton, Williams*

    Batum, Claver

    LA, Jeffries*

*Resigned over the cap with vet min exceptions.

I'd look into trading Freeland and his $3 mil salary, and any S&T deals for Hickson, Smith, Babbitt, Pavlovic.  If there is a need to make Price or Jeffries part of a S&T to facilitate a larger deal, so be it.  I like Freeland, but 3 mil is a decent chunk of change for a guy that has shown very little.

Trading Freeland could afford Portland upwards to $18 mil in cap space, with a need at starting Center, and back-up PG and SG.  Ideally, that SG could play PG at times and be a legit 6th man (Redick type player).  If Portland can sign JJ for 5 mil or so, I am all for it.  I really like Hickson's effort and ability against smaller centers.  I just don't see that price, or vacating the starting role being an attractive venture for JJ.

I'd like to bring at least one if not both of the Greek guys over, if and when Olshey decides on who they want to keep for next season and what spots are still open.

we really made a school boy error by not drafting faried, but then we probably wouldn't have JJ

We won't have JJ next year (or smith perhaps).  We would have still had Faried.

Apparently after the Suns loss, it hasn't. Freeland didn't even play.

that just stupid, if we want the rookies to develop, they need to play...

since we arent going to reach playoffs, we should give more minutes to the rookies, Claver is playing some minutes, as Lillard that is a starter.  Barton and Leonard are getting also some minutes, but they will take more time to develop.

But Freeland should have much more playing time, since he´s getting around 3m, and he playing nice...

It is remotely possible Freeland didn't play because he's part of a deadline deal? Rumor mill says Portland may bolster the bench by the deadline but no core players will be involved.

this time  it will be good to see the team rotation change, with the arrival of Maynor.

If he does what we hope, he will give us regular scoring and assists of the bench, and i think he will also help to improve the other bench players game. I hope we start giving regularly 10/15 minutes to Barton, Claver, Freeland and Leonard, so that they can develop and be more useful for us, i think Freeland and Claver are the ones that would benefit more with more playing time, now and in the coming seasons. Jeffries and Pavlovic may keep playing, but they are defensive minded players, and dont score much. The rest... elliot williams is still injured, nolan is just to bad and Babbit is to irregular...

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
