Trail Blazers (25-25) At Magic (14-36)

    What To Watch For

    Put Doubt In Orlando's Mind
The Magic have lost 12 straight games and the Trail Blazers are fighting for the playoffs. It seems like there's more on the line for one team compared to the other. This is as close to a must-win game as it comes in February for Portland. A win keeps a .500 road trip still in play while also gaining some much-needed confidence after the previous two road outings which saw the Mavericks and Rockets run away with win in the final quarter. While there are always games in the season that don't play out like they would normally on paper, the Blazers can't afford to have any more hiccups against Eastern Conference squads. That three-game stretch in January which saw Portland lose at home to Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Washington took up that quote for the entire season. For the Blazers to get this win, they need to come out like gang-busters and ride the L-Train to early momentum. LaMarcus has been on a tear this road trip, as evidenced by his 31 points, 11 rebound outing against Houston. And he's already torched Orlando once this year, going off for 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists back on January 7th -- a 125-119 overtime Trail Blazers win.

    Meet Me In The Middle
This game features a great duel down low as JJ Hickson and Nikola Vucevic will fight for inside position all game long. In their last meeting, both players put up double-doubles with neither gaining the upper hand. Hickson put up 20 points, on 9-14 shooting to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds while Vucevic put in 17 points, on 8-16 shooting and pulled down 13 rebounds. Vucevic has been one of the biggest surprises around the league since coming to Orlando from Philadelphia in a summer trade and is one of the Magic's most potent offensive weapons. If JJ can play Nikola to a stand-still, or better yet, win the individual matchup, that will bode well for the Trail Blazers' chances in this one.

3:00pm ?? That's early for me. Hopefully it's early for the Magic too.
We need to jump out the gate early and get the lead.

Vucevic is doing great, but what else does Orlando have right now? Reddick has been dealing with injury and I don't think he's 100% yet, Big Baby is still out right?

I feel like this is a really scary trap of a game... but if Blazers can come in and, as usual, play THEIR GAME, not the opponent's, I don't know how we could fall into the snare...

Must win game in Orlando. See if we can maintain a lead throughout. Hope to see Claver get much more time on the floor early in the game. Wes needs to step it up in this game as he's been off.

Made the trip about three hours each way to finally see the boys live. It was pretty ugly. The team plays no defense, consistently allowing unchallenged penetration to the hoop for easy points. Any time Orlando missed, Vucevic grabbed the offensive rebound, easily out-jumping anyone on our side. Lillard was horrendous shooting tonight. Oh well  - was happy to sport the Pinwheel in person for once.

Very, very disappointing loss. Freeland and Claver played really well though which was good to see but Damian had a horrible night on offense and defense. The Magic were making layups like warmup drills.

well mccollum looks cool but lillard was a rarity when it comes to small school ballers being successful I don''t see 2 small school ballers 2 drafts in a row especially one comeing from a weak draft being anything spectacular

Potential out weighs them all are you serious OJ Mayo has more potential than Batum, then you add in what Landry and Barnes provide plus whatever 2 first round picks offer and it is not even close.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.
