The NBA has admitted today that a critical error was made in last nights Mavs/Blazers game...an error that may have very well changed the outcome of said game.  The call in question came with but 1.5 seconds remaining and the score knotted up at 104.  After receiving an inbounds pass, Mavs guard OJ Mayo drove hard to the cup, only to be met by reserve Blazer guard Ronnie Price.  The call was a charge, and possession given to the Trailblazers.  We all know what happened next.

League officials are saying today that that call was incorrect, and that the correct call was a block on Price, which would have resulted in Mayo marching to the charity stripe for two free throws.  This determination comes after review of the play and the assessment that Price did not have position before Mayo "began his upward shooting motion".  Read more here.

Though I respect Dallas as an organization, and respect both their players and fans, there will be no sympathy from me.  A blown goaltending call last season, coincidentally enough going against Aldridge, argueably altered this team's fate for the remainder of the '11/'12 campaign.

This is why you don't make game changing calls under 5 seconds left in the game force him to make the shot through contact.

Didn't the same crew call a late defensive penalty that erased a Blazer bucket earlier in the game?  Bizarre call.  Justice served.

Well, for starters you can check the very site you are posting this comment on. If you prefer to not choose this site, youtube or NBA .com will have it. But really, I am not sure why you have not checked the homepage here.

I am a fan of proving the critics wrong.

These cats were up by 21. TWENTY-ONE !!! The least of their worries should have been about a blown call. What they should be concentrating on is how it happened. We played " D " and made shots. Period. The game should never be in the refs hands because the ball never is. Hush whiners and take your whippin like men.

I totally disagree that it should have been a blocking foul on Price. I do believe that it just should have been a no call.

I think it's ridiculous that the NBA came out and said that the officials blew the call. Newsflash: They screw up almost every game! When are the Blazers not screwed because of a crappy call by the refs?

Wow some serious high hopes for JJ there.

@Cailin Isn''t a little ironic that the Heat are on pace to win a second straight NBA title despite being the worst rebounding team statistically in the NBA this season.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.
