I love talking about the Blazers but they are just not enough for me sometimes and I would like a place to discuss the rest of the league and I am sure some of you probably agree with me so I am making a thread to do just that.

First topic has LA finally figured things out. With Kobe passing like he is Steve Nash or Magic Johnson and the Lakers offense running through Dwight Howard how good can this Laker team be?

I for one am scared by the new Kobe point guard he is getting people more involved especially Howard who is quite frankly a match up nightmare for almost anyone in the NBA. Plus the fact the Mamba could flip the switch and drop 20 in a quarter is still a big possibility. I think the Lakers are starting to figure things out and if Dwight Howard continues to play stellar defense this team will be very scary.

Another topic to consider is what is going to happen to the Celtics, losing Rondo hurts a lot and this team was not exactly dominating with him playing. Will we see some major trades come out of this? I don't see Rondo or Bradley going anywhere but someone like Garnett or Pierce could be on the move. I am not sure who they will deal for but I can be fairly certain that if they do not feel they can contend for a title this year that someone will get dealt in order to get them under the luxury tax.

and as much as I'm a laker hater there team if they keep dwight will be extremely scary but age is on my side so it won't last too long with how old there starting line up is soon half of them will be sent to nursing homes

I see well it looks like the Lakers need to see if their new system works with Gasol on the block and not Howard.

Anyone got any thoughts on the Gay trade

I think the three teams moved well, to fill their "gaps" Toronto got a top player, Detroit and expiring contract and a very good PG, and Memphis a good SF in Prince, and two nice bench players, mainly Davis and Daye... and got rid of a C that wasnt playing...

Now i see both Toronto and Detroit, as two teams that could move some pieces again... Detroit as a bunch of PG´s and Toronto a bunch of SF´s.

Who knows they even make a trade betwen them lol

The Raptors are interesting now with Lowry Derozan and Gay giving them a very athletic back court.

I would imagine at least 2 more seasons just don't see him declining a 19 million dollar option in 2014-2015.

Who is your defensive player of the year I would give the award to Marc Gasol but Paul George has been the best defender on one of the NBA's best defenses so he is worth consideration.

Josh Smith has also done a good job while playing minutes at 3 different positions this year.

I think blocks tend to get over valued at times. Sanders has been very good this season when he plays power forward allowing a very nice PER against of only 12.4 and an EFG% of .424. At the center spot where he has gotten the most minutes his numbers have really taken a hit especially his isolation defense. I also think he needs to play more minutes to deserve consideration as he is only averaging 25 per game.

For some reason I like Teague, Novak and Bledsoe to win the competitions. I am mostly just spit balling here but those are my gut picks.

Well I went 0-3 and it sucks but oh well these competitions are essentially worthless anyway, still congrats to Damian for his win.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
