Will he get more than the lowsy 10 minutes Brooks gave him?  Who's the coach?

Aldridge told the media that he wouldn't even mind if they played him at center.  lol  Apparently he would like more than 10 minutes!

I think the way the season going if San Antonio or LAC can't catch OKC it looks like it would be Brooks again unless since it's in Texas they might just give it to Pop since Brooks coached last years team.

Congrats LA I wasn't sure he was going to make it and I also wasn't sure he completely deserved to be selected. Marc Gasol getting left off the ballot seems very very wrong to me. The man is arguably the best post defender in the league and he is the leader of a very good Memphis team. I like Z-Bo but if I had to take a Grizzly I would have taken Gasol. Steph Curry though is the worst snub of all, the dude has lights out all year and the Warriors have been good enough to merit two selections.

Still congrats LA, I wish you got snubbed cause I think it would have fired you up but oh well.

What was garbage about it? Steph Curry absolutely deserves to be an all-star 21-7-4 with a higher PER than LA and is playing on a better team. LA has a better match up against Randolph than he does against Curry. Since he is out scoring Randolph and has a slightly higher PER. Still Memphis at 27-14 had to have at least one representative. For me I think it should have been Gasol who is without a doubt the better defender, he is also the leagues best passing big man and he actually has a higher PER despite the advantage in rebounds and scoring for Randolph.

Also after LA was snubbed a couple of seasons ago he was really motivated to show everyone that he was deserving of being selected. Not sure it would have been the same this time but still it happened before.

I think everyone should post a new thread!  It's a big deal and a well deserved honor from the coaches who recognize that LA is a unique tallent and an All-Star.  As well, those that feel LA is not deserving should make their own thread.  I don't want any part of that silliness.

I wanted to write a shmexy blog about lastnights win, but I felt exhausted and relieved, that it just felt good to just sit back and enjoy what happened.  LA was so solid vs the Pacers and it was extremely refreshing to blow such a solid defensive team out so emphatically.

I also feel that Curry got snub big time but, come on how old is he's 24 I think, he has plenty of years ahead of him to make the all star team and plus the way the  vote went is that the Top 4 teams should have 2 players representing their team and every other team should have one so I do see cmeese point about Gasol. Curry had to beat out Parker, Westbrook and Harden and with the season those three had it's tough to Curry to take one of their spots while on the other side it's was between Gasol & LA because the other Forwards that were pick was the right pick with Duncan, Lee & Z-Bo the one player that screwed Gasol was D12 because even though he has solid numbers there's no way he should of been a all star Duncan should of been a starter and Gasol should of been a reserve.

With two wild card spots I think Curry could have got in but it would have likely made LA the odd man out. I think they wanted to award LA because the team had over achieved although. Mostly I think LA should have not become an all star this year is because I felt throughout the season it was hard to tell who the best player was on this team. It has been Lillard, LA, Batum and even briefly Hickson. Because of all that I felt that Curry would have been the better choice.

Still congrats to LA even though he and the rest of the starters could use the rest during the break.

I'm with you I rather have LA and Lillard resting than be in the All Star game and the Rookie-Sophmore Challenge but, I guess it won't be that bad since it's pretty much a glorified pickup game.

If LA doesn't deserve to be an All Star in your opinion, then you don't deserve to call yourself a Blazer fan in my opinion.  Go troll some other thread or make your own thread.  The thread isn't about you think, it's about congradulating Aldridge on his second All-Star selection.

Can we please not have so many threads turn in to a thing about flaming someone and calling them non-fans... I agree with Fanatic that this is a thread for congratulating LaMarcus, but let's reign in the response when people do what they do to every thread on every forum; open it up to comparisons, and what if's, and imo's... that's kinda the whole design of discussion forums and threads, whether we want em to be more acute or not.

Just sayin, we're ALL Blazer Fans, that is a guarantee. I'm sure if the goal is just to keep a thread focused, we can find less aggressive ways to push for it.

Only players averaging 20 points and 7 rebounds: LBJ, KD5, LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE

Of those 3 players, the only one averaging less than 2.0 turnovers per game: LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE

Players with most games of 30pts, 10rebs: 3-way TIE of LBJ, Kobe, and LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE

Players with most games of 25pts, 10rebs, 5 assists: LBJ leads, and then LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE

Among Western bigs not starting in the allstar game, Aldridge leads all scoring, and has hit 25 points or more 11 times in the first 42 games.

CONGRATULATIONS, LAMARCUS. Go do Portland proud.

Very impressive I must say.  LaMarcus is the ONLY player in the NBA averaging 20 points or more than 8.2 RBG. I like the comparisons too. ; )

He doesn't get the defensive rebounds that some of the other All-Stars get, which I attribute to JJ, but he gets more offensive boards than Duncan and Griffen.  Although the other night vs Indiana, MB and MR threw out a stat that LA was leading the NBA in defensive rebounds for the month of January with 121.

I like that turnover stat.  He has fewer turnovers this year than Duncan, Lee, Randolph and Griffen, and plays more minutes than all of them.

Wowww Javale Mcgee is 18th in PER, he really should've made the cut.

OH and do you know how much Steph Curry's PER is better by everyone? It's by .14 . Yes that's right, steph curry has 19.85 and LA has 19.71.... WOW

These are literally all the stats anyone needs to prove his value.

Not to mention he has been acclaimed by almost all nba analysts, the experts (some of them don't know squat but a majority of them are very bright guys, and I trust the judgement of a person who actually has been in the NBA), many coaches, and many people in general, who would claim Lamarcus Aldridge is THE BEST PF in the league right now. Yet somehow everyone finds a way to say he should be snubbed? Or he is the least deserving? Really, so you think Blake Griffin ACTUALLY plays like the 4 best player in the NBA? Considering he got voted in with the 4th most votes.. I actually am so thrilled he didn't get voted in by fans and the coaches, who actually vote based on overall play rather than glorification, voted in Aldridge.

I get that's not what you're saying but point is, you have a player who is ACTUALLY arguably the best player at that position and tell me he shouldn't get in?

David Lee, statistically is great this year, and his by far having the best years of his career. But overall I would still take LA over him any day, Portland Blazers aside, I absolutely would. Same for Duncan (probably not if Duncan was in his prime lol) & Randolph.

Your mistake is thinking that BECAUSE you and I are fans that we are"skewing" our sight and misinterpreting who LA is..

Congrats to Lamarcus! Second year in a row! Curry should have made it too, but to say he deserves it more than Lamarcus isn't right. La's stats don't lie. If you want to compare big men, Gasol is 13 pts and 7 rebounds. Lamarcus 20 pts almost 9 rebounds. LA deserved it over Gasol. As for Curry, he deserved it over Parker.

PER is a great tool for measuring a player sure it has limitations just like everything else. McGee has played amazing in his 19 minutes a night but that is all he is playing so anyone with a pulse should realize he is an awesome bench player but not an all-star. LA and Curry are both starters logging big minutes therefore comparing their numbers is legitimate. Compare those two and they are virtually identical.  Curry's team has the better record so he wins the tie breaker for me. Plus we have 3 starters in the top 12 in minutes having them play in a meaningless game hurts the team so yes I wish LA was not an all-star. He is happy he was selected so I will still say congrats like I have several times.

LA is probably more deserving than Randolph and slightly less than Curry so maybe it should have been Randolph who sat out but either way LA and Lillard will not be getting the rest they need if we are actually going to try and make the playoffs. Then again if we are just going to try and keep our lottery pick then by all means guys play and be merry.

Cmeese - This is not a debate about who did or did not get in, or who is more deserving.  You are OFF TOPIC.  Please go make another thread if you wish to carry on that debate.  People looking to congradulate LA are not looking to hear from anyone that he didn't "deserve" to be an All-Star.  Please stop trolling.  Thank you.

Funny the title of the thread says nothing about congratulating LaMarcus on making the all-star team nor does your initial post even offer him congratulations. In fact in 8 posts you have yet to congratulate him once. I have done so in three out of four posts and will do so again here.

    Congrats LA!

I must say these things get kind of out of hand. However, I firmly believe that Blake Griffen did not deserve to be a starter i pointed this our on another thread, If Griffen played for the Blazers he would not have been a starter if aldridge played for Clippers or LA he most likely would have been. All though i think Griffen is fun to watch and is probably good attraction for the all star game he is one demoniacal with limited defense. I too think Curry deserved a spot but not over aldridge. We talk about all the minuets our guys put in but you also have to look at the balance scoring. Aldridge could take more shots a night and have more points but why when you have our starters. I think we have the best starting five in the NBA. even over Miami and NewYork why? one may ask well our guys do not have to put 40 up a night because our other guys on most nights are productive as well. However, it would be nice if someone would step up into that role when it is needed. With that being said Congratulations Aldridge.

LA is 8th in the NBA in FGA per game so I don't fully buy the more shots argument. His FG% is way down or he would be scoring a lot better still over 20 a game is pretty good. That being said as much as I hate Griffin he has been the better player this year. Per 48 minutes his rebounds and scoring is better than LA's, he gives out more assists, steals the ball more and has a much higher PER while playing on one of the leagues best teams. He deserved to start this year still hate him but he earned it.

Anyways congrats LA you made it and no one can take that away
