7:00 PM | Rose Garden | Portland, OR
Trail Blazers (20-20) Vs Wizards (8-30)

    What To Watch For

    Body Language
After losing two home games to teams they should have beaten, how will the Trail Blazers respond? They've now lost five straight games, including three in a row at the Rose Garden, a place they once held a nine-game home winning streak. Right from the jump, look at how the Trail Blazers are carrying themselves? Are they going to come out and take it to the NBA's worst team (record wise)? Or will they come out lethargic in the first 12 minutes of action and fall behind double-digits much as they did against Cleveland and Milwaukee. Along with sporting the NBA's worst record, the Wiz are just 2-17 on the road. If this game doesn't spell remedy for Rip City, I'm not sure what will.

    Substitution Patterns
Coach Stotts has been toying around with different substitution patterns this season, trying to always keep at least one starter on the floor to ensure productivity stays at a steady pace. Recently, it's been Lillard going out around the five-minute mark and coming back to play the entire second quarter, but after the Bucks went on a 17-0 run with Lillard sidelined, Coach may decide to switch up his patterns and keep his floor general out there a little longer in the first period to make sure the offense stays in more of a rhythm.

Given what I've seen so far, there should be three starters on the floor at all times.

Two losses to this team in the same season is both incomprehensible and without excuse.  A playoff team this is not, should tonight's decision be a loss.

This team, and coaching staff are working their heinies off to do the best they can with the tools they have.  Tweeks here and there, coaching adjustments, film sessions, silly turnovers... and the list of things the team is doing to change that is even longer, but unlike the team - Olshey has done nothing and plans on doing nothing till next season.  Ya, ya, hind sight, perspective.  That's why you pay a GM.  To have perspective, and not leave gaping descrepancies between hindsight shoulda/woulda/coulda and the past.  My frustration comes from what is not being done now, or even last month, when it was clear this team was much better than even Olshey thought.  The bench problems were crystal clear months ago.  The ability of the starters was known months ago.  Can you say Rookie of the Year for November?  I have a hard time accepting that nothing can be done between now and the trade dead-line.  And if for no other reason that to give the starter some relief.  Ya, I'm talking injuries, and even to a lesser degree that the starters have not been able to sit on the bench for any length of time without getting beat down on the score board.

Portland was abused in the post in the 1st and 4th quarter, and that allowed a seemingly endless barrage of corner 3s to rain like a monsoon.  Team defense was poor.

And, are players allowed to wear wide reciever type gloves during play?  I want to get some for JJ.  He works so hard, but he's got a butter issue on his hands... litterally.  Same goes for shoes.  Travelling THREE times?  Really JJ?  This shoe fetish is getting out of hand.

In the End another Crawford Kills us what's up with that anyway, I agree about Hickson I don't know how many times I seen him fumble the ball get him gloves STAT but, one guy who getting on my nerves is price he needs to quit jump passing every time I turn around he jumping with no where to go and just throw the ball away it's ridiculous.

I agree with you Fanatic like the great Owen Hart said "Enough Is Enough And It's Time For A Change" get somebody to help these starters out they don't deserve this lack of help.

Martell Webster beat the living pants off us tonight. He was dunkin' it and draining 3's. If that dude can play like that more often, the Wizards should win a lot more games this season.

Agreed Tobyus you gotta give credit to the Wiz they have been impressive since the return of John Wall I see them as one of the few teams to have a strong second half of the season.

I didn't see the game and I feel like that was a good choice on my part. I'm getting really tired of Olshey just standing around and doing nothing when it's very obvious that we need help off the bench. You don't want to risk the long term? Fine, I understand that. But the long term also includes our starting 5 being healthy and not running them into the ground. The only thing that is going to happen is one of the starting players will experience a season ending injury and who's fault will that be? How many games have we lost by 5 points or less? Just ridiculous. How is Cleveland putting together trades with memphis while we just stand by and watch games be lost? Very frustrating.

I was impressed by Myers this game. I wish he would have brought the same energy he brought the first half to the second but still -Nice Game

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
